I’m from West Virginia and I’m applying to UT in a few days and also applying for their scholarship program. However, i get stress anxiety with standardized tests and my score doesn’t reflect my cumulated 3.8 gpa. I go to the one of the best schools in my state but you know Wv is Wv. I also did many activities that are “out of ordinary” for people my age, but I’m just scared that it isn’t enough. I’m ranked 47/256 in my grade (top 18%) My brother went to McCombs Business school at UT and just graduated this past May. I’m also going to apply for other scholarships offered by UT that aren’t financial need based but the out of state price is terrifying. My family doesn’t think i’d be able to handle it even if I got like a full ride (which is 99% not going to happen). Also the worst part is that the things people participate in, I never even heard about. I had no idea what DECA was until 2 days ago, which may be hard to believe, but that’s Wv for you! I don’t even know why I’m ranting. It’s 6:26 am and i’ve been up the whole night writing my short responses for the scholarship program and I’m such a nervous wreck. I’m retaking the SAT in December and sending in my scores during the decision process. If you got this far- thanks for reading

Abby Cokeley 아비 TBH. You should be fine. UT LOVES out of state students bc it adds to their diversity. If anything you have a higher chance than people from Texas lol. As far as ULN goes, I’m not sure how the process is now (I was in the first cohort) but definitely try to mention any plans you have for after UT (esp if it’s more school). ULN likes goal oriented people that have a plan to do well on the 40 acres. Good luck!

I'm two years out of high school but I've decided to apply to UT for next Fall because it was my dream school since I was like 14. Unfortunately I worked full time throughout high school so I didn't have any extracurriculars and dropped out of all my AP classes and stuff ): My final gpa was 3.80 (3.75 unweighted) and my ACT was a 27. I was 27/145 but my ranking was weird because I graduated a year early meaning I was ranked amongst the juniors and not the seniors?? Anyways, I am currently freaking out because even though I started on my essay and short answers a couple months ago I rewrote them all last fucking minute so now I am probably going to submit my app like minutes before the deadline 😭 The worst part is I don't think I'm even going to get in, I'm applying to the RTF program and I know I don't stack up against other applicants ): Sorry for the rant

KateTarot Channels if they are already reaching out just keep that connection up! that will set you apart from others applying. congrats btw! idk what your major will be but the theatre program is LEGIT & you can do UTLA where you spend a semester in LA taking classes at UCLA/closer to auditions if that’s your industry.
