This year UT changed their automatic admission to 6% and I’m currently 6.1% and I am so sad. I didn’t take my ACT scores seriously, thinking I’d be automatically admitted, and my scores are horrible. I’m so discouraged and believe I won’t get in. I’m taking another ACT in 2 weeks. Any tips on getting a good score? Also, what was your ACT score so I can compare? Anything helps thanks!

I did visit UT after being capped but I actually realized that UT wasn’t the place for me so I’m actually going to Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale to study public health and I’m in their intergraded med program.

Honestly, the chances may be slim. A lot of people are trying to do that and they only offer about 100 students spots in PACE

strange because getting addmitted for me was a breeze -- I gave a 7 page resume, nice sloppy but creative essay, plus recommendations help, although they did let me know last minute. Literally weeks before the semester starts. I think for me it was the fact that I'm a Texas resident and a transfer. In state students always have priority over out of state.

Yes I do! Mccombs for everyone looks mainly at GPA. If you get a 4.0 in the required classes needed to get into Mccombs you will more than likely be able to transfer!

Katie Brooks yes! If I’m correct, majors involving arts definitely take into account your portfolio and not just your GPA. I would definitely post on fb pages or try to find someone in that major to talk to though bc I cant be exactly sure! Good luck!!

Maryfer Tejada the business school is competitive to get into, even as an internal transfer. You’d likely need to have a 3.8 or above in your CAP year to get in

Hi! I am a high school senior and want to attend UT Austin so bad. If you are going into business, can you tell me what they look for in your applications? I am out of the country (Monterrey, N.L., Mexico), but I have been in the US for three years (high school years only). So, people who are from Texas have more chances to get accepted by the school. Once I got into my freshman year of HS, I only became part of the poetry club and swim team at my school. Great experience! Poetry has helped a lot to express myself in public, and swimming has taught me how to be a leader in a minimum way by talking to my teammates and learning from them. I haven't done much to show off on my resume or apps. Is that really important? I know it's a plus, but does it really matter?
