We are back onboard the Norwegian Breakaway after an amazing day in Harvest Caye, Belize! I am sitting on the balcony and watching the beautiful sights of the mainland off in the distance. We have a beautiful view for sail away! Then it is dinner time and this is a meal we were very excited for... Le Bistro. This is one of the specialty dining restaurants onboard and we have heard rave reviews about it. Trust me when I say it lived up to the hype. This was by far one of the best, if not THE best meal we have ever had... I mean EVER!!

One of my very favorite things about cruising is trying out food creations I’ve never had before. I did Le Bistro last month on the Encore. I thought it was “okay.” I had two specialty dining restaurants that came included in my cruise fare. I would have preferred to use my free specialty dining package for Ocean Blue. I did get to go to Cagney’s. I think that may be the very best steakhouse at sea. I just got off the Discovery Princess yesterday morning. Had to do Crown Grill. I was super impressed with that as well.

I love chilling and watching the shop sail away!!! That seafood meadly looks awesome. Crab can look like tuna. In England a cheese plate is a dessert. To me it isn’t tho but I was born in Australia and live in England. It’s 4 ppl who hate desserts. My sis at 22 months enjoyed bree I didn’t wanna try it. If you ever get a chance to try an NCL Jewel class ship I think you will love it. (Gem, Pearl, Jewel, Jade). Same restaurants as mega ships, 2500 passengers, no reservations required for shows, different show every night. Much less crowded very relaxing.

The reason the cheese plate is on the dessert menu is because cheese is the finisher of the meal. After dessert, its the last thing you eat to finish your wine and its supposed to clear the palate.

Cheese on the desert menu goes back to traditional French dining where you could have 15 courses during the meal, Usually after entree you have salad, and then a cheese and charcuterie platter then desert.

We were on this same ship in November, 2019. LOVED all the ports we stopped at. So much that we are already booked for the same cruise again. Tried Cagney's and O'Sheehan's. Cagney's was very good; O'Sheehan's was mediocre, meaning it was okay, but nothing to write about. Also had dinner in Savor--THAT was excellent!!

I’ve been on the Escape and the Bliss, and never thought that Le Bistro would be our kind of restaurant. After watching your video, I think hubby and I must try it out when we’re on the Breakaway in September. I will show him Jason’s steak and he will definitely want to go. Here's a tip for people - I was looking at the shot of the menu and the featured champagne is Veuve Clicquot (which happens to be my FAVORITE champagne). It's $23.75 per glass on the menu. I get entire bottles for $36-39 at Total Wine - so for those people who like champagne, and are on cruise lines that allow you to bring a couple of bottles on the ship with you, do it!! You may pay a corking fee (and you may not), but holy cats!! It'd be worth it! I'll be bringing 2 on my Alaskan cruise on Ovation in June. And that menu - oh heaven!! I could eat everything on it (ok, maybe not all in one sitting, but still!!). Thanks again for sharing.

Le Bistro is the best! I always get the beef tenderloin, escargot and the cream of mushroom soup. Just a beautiful dining experience. 132 days till I sail Breakaway. Can't wait to see how it stacks up against the Getaway.

I"m having trouble understanding: are you on the Breakaway for 8 or 10 weeks straight? Or did you take it several weeks ago and you're still making videos about it?

We do not vlog love from the cruise ship. We go on a cruise and takes lots of footage and can home and compile them into videos. We are very detailed, which most people comment that they appreciate. So more details = lots of footage = more videos. We leave the details in instead of cutting them out to make the videos shorter.

The videos are good--it just gets confusing when there is overlapping footage in videos because then I'll start watching one, eventually see footage I've seen, then I'm like 'didn't I see this?', when I'm expecting to see footage that I haven't seen. To me ideally, there'd be no reusage of footage (but you could definitely make videos like 'food part 1', 'food part 2' etc). And maybe you could put your sail dates in the title of the video. But overall they're great, with good footage and descriptions of things that matter to fellow cruisaholics.

The only footage you are seeing twice are some of the meals. I made a cruise food compilation video where I used bits and pieces from different restaurants to show what can be expected on this ship. Then the full experience is part of each daily vlog.
