Are those mesh units meant to be spread throughout the house and if so, do you have to plug in an Ethernet cable to each one?

Yes the need to spread in the house bit you don’t need ethernet cable for each one. So I put the master hub on the 2nd floor near the front of my house, second one on 1st floor in the middle of the house and the 3rd in the basement at the back of the house.

Did you have to have the two eeros next to each other when pairing, and then you moved them around your house? Our can I add the gateway, then plug in the other two for the mesh network in the other locations around the house?

For the first setup you need to put them near each other. After that you can put them apart.

In the case of mesh routers, are LAN cables required to connect the second and third mesh modules from the main mesh? Aero Pro 6 I was interested in buying this model.

No LAN cable needed although you have the option to hard wire them as well.

Does each device appear as a separate router when you search for wifi devices? Or do you just connect to the first device you set up?

It is automatically prioritize to 5 Ghz.

Eero will try to do 5 GHz first. If it fails then it will connect to 2.4 GHz.

I have an all in one box from cable company (router and modem in one). They tell me that lan port 4 is already set for bridge mode. My questions is (and I’m not network savvy)….how do i connect the eeros while maintaining my existing routers name and password? I’ve seen some videos but they all say to put the eeros in bridge mode then disable the original routers wireless signal. Two things here…one is I can’t disable the existing routers wifi signal. And two, if I’m using the eeros as basically extenders of the original router, why would I then turn off the original Routers wifi signal? Don’t you need that to bounce to the eeros? So confusing.

When you are in bridge mode, in theory the wifi of your all in one should be not working / turned off automatically. So taking from the port 4 output to an Eero and turn it as the “brain” and the other two Eeros will be the “slaves” of the “brain”. You can name the SSID and password to anything you want.

@@DavidSusiloUnscripted thanks David. Unfortunately this doesn’t work with the box I have. There’s no way to turn on bridge mode in the router portal. And the company says to use LAN port 4 as its in bridge mode. The problem is the router still spits out the wifi signal and no way to turn it off.

@@tdz69 that is weird because bridge mode should kill the internal wifi router. Just using one of the output is not bridge mode. Regardless, I think in your case, go into the all-in-one setting, change the ssid name into something you DON’T want to use, and just plug in one of the Eero and make it into the “brain” and use the same SSID and password as you want. Then follow the video to continue the setup procedures.

Can I use an Ethernet port/splitter for the main eero unit that will be plugged into the modem? After using one of the two Ethernet ports for the modem there will only be one left, but I need more than one Ethernet port lol for my security cameras box, and other hard wired units such as my PC and PS5.

Yes you can. I use ine of my modules that way.

@@DavidSusiloUnscripted just installed. Works pretty good. Now I get full bars and no disconnects in my room. Only 300 mbps out of 1000 mbps though. Better than 5-10 mbps and constantly disconnecting from before though. maybe I should’ve got the 3 pack so I could’ve put another hub in the garage. I have a connection now in the garage which is good, but the speed is only 10-20 mbps, still satisfactory to stream music and KZbin I guess. But overall satisfied lol

I just want one where no matter where I walk in my apt it’s connected. The way I have it now is I have two separate wifi in my apt. When I pick up the erro I will try this later on

@@miltona891 yeah. That’s pretty much I do it for my house. The only difference is that I only use one node wired and the rest are simply rebroadcast. I use one wifi name from the front door all the way to the end of my backyard.

The speed tested in my entire house and backyard and frontyard are a constant 300 mbps regardless where I am. Which is the maximum speed that I subscribed to. Updated: now it’s 500 mbps

Wtf!!!! I must be incompetent. Tried to set this up for my dad. I did everything but it won't "discover" the device on the app. Would this even work for crappy slow internet that hasn't been upgraded since 2000? Lol.

You can browse the internet on almost nothing however. Not one speed test to be seen in this video. Not one streaming of video. Nothing but slow, terrible setup. Why even bother?
