@@JohnDavidSullivan they make more sence considering that they follow simple rules: They impact a single element each; They require weilder to be immensly powerful; They are a part of the universe, not tech; They don't plat teams, they are just instruments and obey a will of their weilder; They have power in their element over everything in the universe. It makes them easy to understand and use. Motherboxes are tech that can do what exactly? Resurrect superman, create cyborg, terraform a planet. They can also try to stop whoever is attempting to stop the unity through manipulation (scene with cyborg meeting his family and himself), they can go dormant and be awaken without consistency (like when they got separated in battle with darkside, then all 3 got awaken when superman screamed (that is stupid but too much to explain here) but then steppenwolf could only find 2 because 3rd was needed to resurrect superman and only then it activated which prompted steppenwolf to come. But then they didn't go dormant again after Clark is back even though in the film cryptonians as a major threat are mentioned by steppenwolf), they call for the faction that created them but can be used by others that try to stop the faction (like resurrecting superman and creating cyborg even though it's against its creators goals). We also don't know what are their limits. For that reason I must say that infinity stones make a lot more sence even though I'm not a fan of Marvel movies in general

I've been saying this for years (probably since Spider-man: Homecoming). After years of entertainment being...poor. The scale for quality has been skewed. "Mediocre" is now the new "good". Now, when something is slightly better than "meh", the majority of people squeal. Between a sh*t sandwich, and a sh*t sandwich with sprinkles, they squeal for the sprinkles. But it seems to me that both are still sh*t sandwiches. 🤷

Far too many directors are overrated after making ONE movie where they perform decently and "develop a gimmick" ... which they then use for EVERY OTHER MOVIE THEY MAKE, regardless if it fits or not. Y'alls definition of faith as being definitionally "trust without evidence" and not being synonymous with trust in some contexts is contradicted by it's use as a denotation of "having faith" in a romantic partner, as well as "Having faith in someone's judgement" Similarly, it can be disproved by taking the inverse. "I have no faith in you" is not a rejection without evidence. This sentence would only make sense if faith is capable of meaning "Trust"
@scienceviking4490
@scienceviking4490 3 жыл бұрын
The definition you're using also fits very well with the context of the line too. Throughout the film we see how much Bruce believes in the man Clark Kent, and so at the end, he has faith that Clark will choose to do the right thing and save them. Of course, it's probably also another Jesus reference.
@JustAnArrogantAlien
@JustAnArrogantAlien 3 жыл бұрын
The crew seem to be confusing “faith” with “blind faith.” Faith, like trust, can absolutely be based on logic and/or real-life evidence. _Blind_ faith is based on nothing at all. I get the feeling that the confusion stems from online religious debates, where “faith” as a concept is constantly and summarily mocked.
@castlesandcuriosities
@castlesandcuriosities 2 жыл бұрын
The use of 'faith' today is a sort of watering down of it from its religious use. Lots of people use it a synonymous with trust, not really any different to saying I believe in my partner, or I believe in someones judgment. But in its religious context it's pretty much belief without needing evidence or proof. To quote the bible "Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen"

Without script input, Rian Johnson is the objectively better director. He did a few really good episodes of breaking bad which had Vince Gilligan taking care of the script as one of the best writers around. Zack very seldom writes his own movies and has very little range is his visuals, everything is just gray and ugly. I posted this on the unlisted stream but I’ll put it here to clarify what Fringy said regarding Shang-Chi. Hasbro has a $20 toy line called Marvel Legends in which they release Marvel characters from both the films and comics. They release figures in waves, and if an MCU movie is coming out, they put in a few figures from that film along with comic book characters to promote the film and incentivize people to buy the whole wave. Iron Man (A.I) was one of the particular comic book figures from the Shang-Chi wave. It was a repaint of a single carded 80th anniversary Iron Man release that came with a regular Tony Stark head. To incentivize people who already had the previous one, they added the AI headsculpt as a difference between the two. The toy does not mean that Iron Man will be brought back to life in Shang-Chi.

So, the bull doesn’t always die in bull fights. If I recall correctly traditionally it was(or still is) less common to kill the bull in Portuguese bull fighting and more common in Spanish bull fighting. Importantly though you can only really use a bull once for a fight... because the bull isn’t going to “fall” for the same tricks and tactics of a bull fight twice.

@@mrbiggles5389 Depends if he’s going to be writing these movies or just directing. Also, I wonder if you’d say this about Tommy Wiseau as a director? “But he’s actually bad!” Mmm, really? I don’t know, I think you’re just following the narrative, when was the last time you watched the room by yourself, eh? Snyder is a well meaning goof ball director, like Michael bay, but a nicer person. And that’s fine, spectacle has its place, but as a writer? My goodness, if you value internal consistency, Zack falls short. Doesn’t mean he’s a bad person, just a bad writer. Sorry I didn’t use caps lock or profanity to validate your victim complex. Maybe you shouldn’t project your insecurity of opinion-invalidation relating to media on to others. Yours is an unjust crusade, and god will know his own.

No, Superman is not faster than Flash. Even when they faught each other, Flash was still faster than him. And he doesn't just go to the speed of light or faster since that mess up time. Fun fact, disregarding what you think of VPN ads in general, what he is advertising is highly likely to violate HBO Max's TOS. Usually most streaming services include a little segment that you are not allowed to use proxys or similar services (under which VPNs fall) to access their site. In case of HBO MAX TOS' "You are prohibited from using any technology to mask your location or hinder WM's ability to determine your location." Not that anything will happen if you do, the streaming service provides probably don't really care and have to have that to because of rights issues, just an interesting note.
