When they first started and it was just Mauler and Wolf it worked really well. They both complimented each other and when Rags became the third host Wolf was able to keep him under control/correct him when needed. With Wolf gone Mauler doesn't really have anyone to bounce off of and just ends up making all the arguments while trying to moderate Rags. Jay is quite good at fulfilling the role Wolf left open but ideally i'd like to see someone like Shadiversity step in and become the new host.

Something I never see discussed about the Eagles “plot hole.” Gandalf getting whisked off Orthanc by Gwaihir actually sets a huge precedent for why Saruman would be looking for them, specifically, since he would then know instantly if the Fellowship were moving toward Mordor.

I wish this made it into the movies from the books, but the more powerful a creature is, the faster/harder/deeper the ring corrupts them. You’re not wrong. The whole Hobbit trilogy was very off-kilter compared to the original LOTR trilogy. But I guess the filmmakers wanted to add some extra connections to Lord of the Rings.

Hobbit was rushed due to them losing their first director, whereas Jackson and his team spent years getting ready to make the lord of the rings. Moral of the story is dont have a set release date

The amount of effort that went into the Practical effects of this movie is just stunning, the scene at the beginning where Frodo and Gandalf are riding in the car together, Elijah what is actually sitting three feet back, and the scene where Bilbo and Gandalf are having tea at the table and home is a few feet further away from the camera and they build a second table close to him that was on a special arm that moved with the camera motions to keep the illusion of perspective to make it look like it was part of the table Ian McKellen was sitting at

What a wrong time for me to grab a tall glass of something to drink and chug it while hearing the bit about Bilbo's book having peen drawings, a publisher considering them as "not bad," and Rags's'ss "top-down view" remark. I nearly choked on what I was drinking. Even if just listening to the trio's commentary, it's always a genuine fun time revisiting the EFAP Movies for the LOTR Trilogy.
