Harley's monologue is nonsense. The squad will not supplant the league. That's idiotic. She has no real victory over Batman. In fact, a better Harley would actually mourn to loss of this hero who always thought she could be free of Joker. She'd recognize how stupid it is that she's going to be the one to kill him, and try to thank him if anything. This game should be about tragedy, how it strikes without warning, and without reason. These 4 being all that's left should feel wrong because the world works like that. But no, the writers thought their characters we "cool" for being "bad" and put no more thought into it. That entire scene would have been improved by just Harley looking at him angrily, asking him 'why', mind-controlled Batman raving out his justifications, Harley's shoulders dropping as her face slackens while he rants, her muttering 'damnit Bats......' and then shooting him in the face mid-rant. Have Deadshot or King shark question why she was bothered, and Harley INSIST that that wasn't Batman. There you go, decent writing. Took less than five minutes to think through in a way that keeps it in line with Harley's established worldview and Batman's interactions with her across basically her entire existence in nearly every timeline the two characters share space in.

Also why does Harley hate Batman if she's totally broken away from Joker? If she realized how bad he was and how toxic he was to her then why does she still hate Batman? Since people think Batman killed Joker shouldn't Harley actually appreciate Batman for getting rid of him cause it eventually led to her being free from him? That's not exactly true. There have been instances of Green Lanterns going evil and still keeping the rings' power. Like when Hal Jordan was hunting down Green Lanterns and collecting and wearing all of their rings to increase his power. In Hal Jordan’s case his will power was intact and he held conviction in what he did, hence the green ring(s) staying on him. In John’s case here his will was compromised allowing him to get mind controlled, meaning the ring would have flown away. Although DC characters (or even we) may disagree with his actions, Hal ended up having reasons for doing what he did (not saying it’s justifiable as he did murder fellow Lanterns, but he did so with the goal of counteracting more powerful threats)

There are many people who unironically think that even a regular-ass dude could beat superman if they had kryptonite... which is idiotic. Ignoring the fact that Green Lantern rings don't work that way, if King Shark could wear the ring, it would form to fit his finger (flipper?) because there are Lanterns who don't have human hands and still can wear the ring. I just realised the glaring problem with the narrative (well one of them), the game treats this as “evil justice league” but explicitly states they’re being controlled which doesn’t make them evil, just under another persons influence. I feel like the character they did the most disservice to was Waller, honestly. In the original canon Waller was.... deeply, deeply flawed, but well-written despite that. She saw a legitimate flaw in the way the world worked and set about trying to fix it, accepting in the process that she would have to dirty her hands and do some truly atrocious things to make it happen in the name of serving a greater good. Yet it also frequently pointed out that while her ambitions were noble, she often went about them in the worst way possible and wound up doing more harm than good. Here? She's just a cardboard cutout with zero depth. The tough, no-nonsense 'strong female' character we've all seen a million times, which is given no flaws and is portrayed as un-ambiguously correct despite doing no end of horrible things. Hell, in JLU: Epilogue we even get an Amanda Waller - now a very old woman - who admits she was wrong about the superheroes. That while relying too much on them was still a mistake, but confesses that they were moral paragons who should be aspired to.

I dont know where the idea that amanda waller, former congressional aide and federal servicewoman with years of experience, would come up with something as kooky as the suicide squad taking out a rogue justice league. It's patently ridiculous, and if they had just stuck to government wetwork and other seditious tasks like they did in the comics, there wouldnt even be an issue here. the earliest example i can think of is the awful movie, but for all i know they tried it in the New 52. it would have been far from their only terrible idea after all. Even the DCAU did this character justice with their limitations, portraying a version of the team that falls apart halfway through their mission, an intel gathering op in the friggin' watchtower. Not only that, they came up with a much better justice league deterrent while they were at it in the form of the ultimen.

Amanda Waller in many animated incarnations is a woman with “noble” intentions but very questionable methods. She is cunning and tactical and a great character who could play off of the likes of Batman. She… is nothing here. For all of the women they glorify in this game, they ruin her, an amazing female character.

Harleys moral grand standing makes absolutely no sense. In the Arkham universe, she helped the Joker dismember children and sew their bodies together for their parents to see. Arkham Harley is among the most twisted and evil versions of the character, but this game treats her as The Suicide Squad movies version of her.
