games is a vague term. You might waste too much time just playing fortnite, but if you pick great games with an intriguing and well thought out story, you have a great experience I think. A lot of games are masterpieces just like legendary movies. Much better than being addicted to social media I think. Instagram, facebook, youtube,... all bad influences.

I wonder why there always has to be addiction whether that be for video games, sneakers, fast food, or bodybuilding
@IxCRAVExCORE5 жыл бұрын
Because human's need a reason to live, thats why some people retire just to die because they have nothing to fight for after all that fighting. There can be healthy addictions, but interests and addictions are two different things. Addiction is a mental dependacy on the dopamine you get from bodybuilding, doing drugs, even eating! All humans have this function but not all posses the self control to prevent addiction, and sometimes it comes down to if your parent's had the same addictive traits.

I think there is virtue in gaming. Just as the universe was spawned from the void, our consciousness separated and limited for our own entertainment, we too endeavor to create pleasurable simulations into which we may project. We build a world and limit ourselves with rules, give ourselves a goal, and thereby an outlet into which we can develop skill, express a unique style with our strengths and weaknesses, and experience the purest joys of the human condition.

I recently been watching your content and must say your words speak my mind. The way how i percieve life and its expression of how and why the fundamentals is being portrait in that way. The universal expression of how one form goes beyond to another state. Like reaching to a point of evolvement and resets its self to nothing or emptiness. To start over again its expression of life but this time with slight diffrent expression and added new fundamentals. I tried to explain this to many of my friend but it seem hard for others to understand or graps how complex an expression of a state of mind can be when reaching to a deeper expression of what one can achieve. To the infinity and beyond. Reading the some of the ancient text of different civilasation i understand how evolved their state of mind and expression of social and cultural expression was showed. All that we see is rocks and tombs that we have beein lied about what their ancient structure was about. Understanding this makes me understand also that we only in an infant stage of maturity of self expression today. I have been experimenting with psychedelics but feel that i can achieve that state of mind without. So i rarely take it. I take trips when when i meditate and sometimes i can get alternative realitys showned as an intuition depending of my state of mind. I avoid certain situations that is showned to me and other i let happen.

A can get behind that, when I buy a sneaker I want to become the sneaker and merge my self image with the image of the sneaker itself. I become the sneaker and the sneaker becomes me and when that happens it’s like I become a new person and feel a shift in consciousness. Everything is cut from the same cloth on a physical level and ultimately you can’t hate on someone for admiring the beauty of a sneaker any more than you can hate on someone enjoying the beauty of a water fall or the beauty of nature.

Gaming gives access to different reality’s. I can be Spider-Man for a bit and experience it to some degree or a magic wielding swordsman who fights monsters(witcher). I get that if you play sleeping dogs or Mario you might feel it’s waste or burnout cause the games are fundamentally based in our reality such as fist fighting or jumping around

So in a way yes, gaming caused short sightedness but so can staying inside reading books all day or studying. I don't have sources to back my claim up but I implore to look up these theories.

How much of materialism for men is just about getting the objects so you can get the girl. Female materialism is the bigger problem. Their materialism is more linked to simply being better than other people and can steal their youth and prevent them from starting a family. Materialism for me has always been more about not being a loser than it has been about being better than others. Ultimately though you were kind of onto the most significant point, that materialism is complex, multifaceted, and everyone has their reason for the pursuit of materials.

After you've read a certain amount of books you realize most of them are redundant and filled with useless information - people just writing the same shit over and over again just to make their book long enough to sell it. There's also a greater degree of creative freedom with video games, especially with VR. Check out VRChat for instance.
