House numbers are beautifully shaped art on their own. Very cool. Nice to see sane people embracing that. Lucky to get them for your address. It is also nice to see 13th floors appearing in newer towers.

I lived in a home in Sarasota Florida that was designed by a friend of mine.....in the mid 1960's.....very simple plan...all glass and wood and cider bricks.....elegant but modernistic classic design....it was my favorite place that I lived at....much like what you have there...really enjoyed the tour....

We are currently renovating a mid-century and have some of the same features. I love the idea of the pond being elevated. Ours is currently just in-ground but after seeing this we both agree elevating it is a great idea.

omgosh! I actually recognized the neigborhood! I grew up in that county! but right after I thought I knew it, I asked myself 'what are the odds??' since so many locales in California - and even in pockets around the nation - are very similar in appearance. so imagine my delight that it turned out to be, truly, a familiar place!🤗 and they did a lovely job, updating their home - the few parts we could see, anyway. and how lucky they are to have a nice sized lot with such a spacious backyard..really nice landscaping back there, too!🌿🌼🙂👸🏾

It’s fun to see you don’t have to be rich to find and remodel a home. It can be done economically and in ways that enrich the indoor/outdoor connection, and that freshen interior surfaces and furnishings. Nice work. Nice home.

This was great. We too live in an Eichler and we love it. Ours even has a heated pool with a diving board (original from 1960!!) with a working pool light! It's wonderful. We're lucky and happy in ours too. Cheers!

what kind of Eichler. im crazy for the "atrium" Eichlers
@SenecaTheDreamer7 жыл бұрын
We have an open atrium in ours. I believe all of them had this. If I'm not mistaken, it's a hallmark of the design.
@randomuser40147 жыл бұрын
oh cool lucky guy...i like the atrium style because it had a open courtyard in the middle of the house you can open just about every room up to this space & its still secure.
@SenecaTheDreamer7 жыл бұрын
Yea we love it. I'm inside/outside in our atrium typing this now. One thing I will say is window cleaning can be a pain. We have 18 floor to ceiling windows and it's a bit of a chore to clean them all (inside and out). That being said, it's a minor inconvenience considering the benefits of being here.

There are many Eichlers here in this area San Rafael, they are considered historical. Look them up, the outdoors is part of the house, some surround an outside area, some open on one side. They are fun to learn about if houses are something you like to look at.

Hello from Moscow. Very nice couple and a wonderful little daughter. They live in peace and inner harmony. The interior in the style of the elegant simplicity. If it's not difficult, give us a link to the plan of the house and other photos, because I'm planning to build a similar house in my country. I hope that special double-glazed windows with inert gases will reduce heat loss in our northern climate. Thank you in advance P.S. So many stupid comments about the house number and the absolute inadmissible remark about the wife.
@josephglenn56125 жыл бұрын
The people here who commented on not getting a full tour of the house have never visited an authentic Mid-Century Modern home, especially an Eichler home like this. The film showed everything except the bedrooms and baths. The magic of a MCM was conveyed.

This is where I grew up. The best of all worlds. A small subdivision of homes with plenty of other kids to play with, walk to school, surrounded by wide open space. Miles of hills, creeks with Steelhead trout, but yes there was poison Oak. Eichler homes are heavily influenced by Frank Loyd Wright. Claude Oakland who Apprenticed under Mr Wright was one of Mr. Eichler's Architects. Over the years these homes have developed a "sorta" cult like following.
