Great find Rodney, I think that setting is actually an engineering unit rather than a maximum amperage setting. I've got 4 EG4 600oXP's in parallel and max should be 4480, but can't go above 3520.

Yeah I had no idea what the units for that would be but it needs to be higher to get full input from my system. 👍

When Shared Battery is enabled you need to increase the max amps to account for all parallel inverters. Yes the manual should explain that better.

I definitely missed the explanation lol! I figured the mppt will take in the max they can until I can test to see what I really need to set it at.

@rodneyhunt you can set it to 420 (140*3)...the BMS will still direct a lower charging amperage if it needs to.

I found this issue and signature solar insisted 125 was max, that made no sense for 2 inverters. I changed it and will see what happens tomorrow. I added 6k worth of panels and it was basically not being utilized for charging, only with an AC load. Now, With that said, Where did you come up with this being a correct number? How is it you have this but the sellers and tech people don't? Where did you get this number? Would it not be 125 per unit, 250 for my pair? I have to wonder why its tied to the AC charging number? I realized after i could just set it at 3520 in the app as well....

I just set it to the max. The battery BMS will limit power if ever needed but I have plenty of batteries for my array. I asked them before and can’t remember the exact explanation from them but will look back.

@@rodneyhunt I (we) need to still be able to limit AC charging and it cannot be that high for AC so common sense says there must be separate settings for max amperage on AC charging vs the solar panel charging. I did not realize this was being throttled and it made for some damned irritating attempts at figuring out what was wrong with the system. The amount of mis and dis information surrounding EG4 from both retailers and EG4 themselves is a real PITA.

Hey Rodney, Question do you know how to get the app to show all the inverters in parallel ? We have 5 xp’s and they are set up in parallel on the inverters but in the app it shows them as individual and I have to click on each dongle to view stats: Thanks for the videos,

@@rodneyhunt Yes I agree let’s email then and hopefully get an update for this. I had spoken to one tech over there and she seemed to think it is able to be set up, so much so she asked I email pictures of each inverter and their setting, we did but have not heard back as of yet. Will follow up again on this next week. I appreciate your videos, I was having the same low solar input and no one at tech provided a solution for it and today the 14 eg4’s were at 4 bars by noon, no generator tonight :) Take care

Ok Rodney, I am confused, sooo confused. I do not have a system yet but I'm learning. In my 6000XP manual that I downloaded, Step 6 is for "Ic: Maximum Charge Current (Utility+Solar)" Range is 0-125A. The manual says "Maximum MPPT Amperage The MPPT can accept up to this amperage (clipping will occur past this value) 25A. Also the spec sheet says "MAX. CONTINUOUS AC CURRENT 37.5A @ 240VAC". What is 3520? 3,520 Amps? 35.20 Amps? Why does that step say Max range 0-125A when I can only get 25A from the panels and 37.5A continuous from the grid. What am I missing? How do you get more than the combination of 62.5A (25A + 37.5A) ?

It is some kind of combined amps I think. Solar, ac charge, etc. I contacted eg4 fir more details and will let you know what I find out. Regardless the mppt will only accept the max watts and just make sure you keep your panels below the amp specs you will be good. 👍

I just set it at the maximum it lets me. Like I said not sure why it doesn’t work at default amps but it works with max settings. Will ask why this goes so high. Maybe the settings need to be updated or something

I think I have at up to 340 volts on some strings at 11 amps. Then on another inverter i think 200 something with 18 amps

Thanks just switched mine up to 240 from 140 it was auto set at, will compare charge rates next sunny day and post here of any changes I see using solar assistant

@rodneyhunt thanks my strings each consist of 8 q cell 485w bifacial open circuit ratings of 11.2a, 53.6v panels. on freezing cold days when the sun pokes out I see up to 420volts but feel these are perfect strings for these inverters to get close to max input. I have seen 8k on my master inverter multiple times in the past month

Can you describe where the fans are located.....is there screening small enough to keep moths or miller bugs as we call them from getting into the unit? My 6000 EX have filters on the sides but the screen size is small enough to keep bugs from getting into the unit and shorting it out.

Can you do a video bringing in more than 7000 watts from PV every time mine hits 7000 my inverter starts screaming called signature solar and there starting to here this problem coming in they are sending me out a new unit
