I wanted to try and go through the settings of the EG4 6000XP and see if I can help explain what each setting is for. Now this is my understanding of the settings, so I could be way off...and if I am, please share the correct usage in the comments below for all to see. If you could tag the specific time as well, that would be awesome!

Thanks! The better we understand the app settings the easier it is to operate the inverter correctly. Some folks have had some issues setting up the app and what ever you do, don’t delete your account and start over if you have issues, call the vendor. ☀️👍⚡️🤩

I was tackling this next, great timing it was like you new all my questions ❤. I got 1 6000xp from a source and planning to buy 2 more from another source. Can the dongles connect together even though they are from 2 different distributors codes? I asked the new vendor but they are waiting to hear back from EG4.

That’s just because I have cameras and microphones pointed at your solar install…looking for content ideas… 🤣 I wouldn’t think there would be an issue with different customer codes. I’m pretty sure that just ties the inverter to a specific vendor list so they can easily support their customers.

You cannot use the EG4 6500 on the EG4 Monitoring site. You have 3 options for monitoring tools for the 6500. 1. WatchPower - kzbin.info/www/bejne/aHPZi3WXrLWnopY 2. EG4 EX - download from App Store, same install process as WatchPower 3. Solar Assistant - kzbin.info/www/bejne/kKvOiKSHhcmGhLs

Adam on a parallel system with 4 inverters AC charging current set at 20 amps. That will pull 80 amps from the grid. I only have a 100 amp service so it that would only leave 20 amps to run house loads correct? Or should I set to 10amps ea. to leave 60 for house . I have 18 lipo4 batteries. 15k PV. Your thoughts?
@AdamDeLay07
@AdamDeLay07 Ай бұрын
With the amount of solar you have, I would set it to 10a each. Ultimately it depends on if you really need to charge from the grid as well as what your grid loads look like. If all your loads are going through the 4 inverters, you could set a higher grid charge. I rarely charge from the grid unless I know a storm is coming and there’s potential to lose power.
@mcdaniel236

I think you’re right about the10 amps ea. if it’s needed, I hope to not use the grid at all but just in case I don’t want to overload my 100 amp service. Great video! Thanks

I am past the frustration phase with eg4. I purchased the 2.4kw all in one system and it's nothing but problems. Why a company would sell a system that is not plug and go is beyond me. I imagine buying a Tesla vehicle but the battery doesn't communicate with the car or the charger and you have to figure that out. - Looking at either getting money back or smashing it with a hammer.
@AdamDeLay07
@AdamDeLay07 Ай бұрын
What 2.4kw system are you talking about? I'm not aware of anything like that. Most inverter based systems require some wiring to do a full install. The AC side of things is usually what takes the longest but it really depends on what loads you're looking to power from the inverter. It sounds to me like you want one of those larger portable power stations like the Anker F3800 or the EcoFlow Delta Max. That's about as "plug and play" as you can get (unless you're looking at have it power your entire house).

@@AdamDeLay07 one from shop solar or signature solar. Just a package with panels. Anyway, the solar part has been easy but the battery and charging them has been a nightmare. Currently working on them again. Set to lead acid, no charge. Set to lithium no charge and no communication. Hello Adam. I would like to have the PV input charge my batteries when available, instead of just converting to grid mode to charge as this feature was available on the 6500ex. Is this feature not available on the 6000xp?
@AdamDeLay07
@AdamDeLay07 Ай бұрын
Yes, PV will charge your batteries. PV power will first go to cover any loads you may have on your system. If the loads are taken care of and there's still excess PV power available, that power will go into your batteries. This is how I run my system. I very rarely charge from the grid at all (unless my batteries are low and a big storm is coming in). I want to charge as much from PV as I can.

So if you have two inverters, I assume you have to do this for each inverter. I understand that the newest software will allow you to see a combined screen/web interface (when using multiple inverters), so you don't have to do the math to see the total numbers. Have you seen this yet?
@AdamDeLay07
@AdamDeLay07 Ай бұрын
I believe you still have to program each one, but I’m not aware of all if the capabilities of a paralleled system. I have seen images of the combined web interface which allows you to see a “system level” picture instead of just an individual inverter.

@@slugbyte Not a problem! It did seem a little sluggish at first on refreshing the data, but it picked back up. If it happens again, I would first verify the lights are up on the dongle and then I would go to the Maintenance page on either the monitoring site or the app and see if you can read data from the inverter.
