@AdamDeLayDIYАй бұрын
Thanks for the kind words Ken! As far as the arc fault, I believe the PV Arc fault looks attempts to detect potential shorts in your PV lines. If it detects a short, it should disable PV charging. Congrats on the new gear! First thing you would want to do is make sure that you can put the power queen batteries in series to make a 48v battery. You would need to check the documentation. In my install/initial thoughts video, there's a section for setting up initial parameters when you don't have battery communication: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o4GTanp5pLeSiJI. Assuming you can wire the power queen batteries in series (4 of them), you would then take the battery parameters for 1 power queen battery, multiply by 4 (to get the 48v equivalent) and then use that value to program the charge/discharge values on the inverter. I don't actually have any 12v batteries that I can put in series as an example. Hope that helps!

AC Charge Start Battery Voltage is used to tell the system when you want to start charging from the AC IN connection. Typically that's going to be a significantly lower value than the Charge Voltage because you want to use the battery power you have stored up. You set the Charge Start value to a low voltage threshold before your system switches over to AC IN/Grid power.

How to configure the EG4 Monitor on EG4 6500 Inverteer
@AdamDeLayDIY7 ай бұрын
You cannot use the EG4 6500 on the EG4 Monitoring site. You have 3 options for monitoring tools for the 6500. 1. WatchPower - kzbin.info/www/bejne/aHPZi3WXrLWnopY 2. EG4 EX - download from App Store, same install process as WatchPower 3. Solar Assistant - kzbin.info/www/bejne/kKvOiKSHhcmGhLs

You would want to program your charging amps based on your batteries and what they recommend.

Hi adam, thak you for the video, I'm trying get the setting correct before I turn on the inverter. Looked at the official video for the setting from EG4 gave me no real info. I'm using Chins 12.8 v LIFePO4 200 ah batteries. I am puting them in series to make 2 - 48v batteries. The battery banks will be wired to a busbar before going to the inverter. The issue I need help with is 11 and 12 in the settings. Should I use SOC or VOC. What value should I be looking for. Here is the battery info: Charging Limit Voltage: 56.8V Over Voltage Disconnect Voltage: 58.4V Over Voltage Reconnect Voltage: 55.2V Float Charging Voltage: 55.2V DischargingLow Voltage Disconnect Voltage: 46.4V Low Voltage Reconnect Voltage: 49.6V Under Voltage Warning Voltage: 51.2V any help is much appriciated

@@peterpuertorico5925 I don’t believe Chin batteries have communication ability with a 6000 XP inverter. So you would end up setting your values to voltage and not SOC. Option 11 is going to be a shut down voltage that you want your inverter to completely turn off and stop outputting power. It’s kind of like a safety net to keep your batteries from hitting a low-voltage disconnect. Option 12 is going to be the voltage that you want to set your inverter to switch back to the grid to power loads. As far as values, it’s kinda hard to say. I know there’s charts out there that show you a correlation between voltage and SOC for LifePo4 batteries but they’re not that accurate. There’s not a 1 to 1 match between voltage and SOC. You would probably want to set both at or above the Chins low voltage warning level. Just make sure option 12 is higher than 11 if you have grid connected.

@@AdamDeLayDIY thank you so much adam, that helped a lot. You are correct, Chins does not have an external bms. So for my situation, the values of 3, 7, 8,11, 12 are the only parameters that need to be adjusted. One other uestion, the unit you used to power the reisitors, is there a video on how to use that for our situation? I purchased one, but not clear on how to use it..... @@slugbyte Not a problem! It did seem a little sluggish at first on refreshing the data, but it picked back up. If it happens again, I would first verify the lights are up on the dongle and then I would go to the Maintenance page on either the monitoring site or the app and see if you can read data from the inverter. Both of those should help verify connectivity between the monitoring tools and the inverter.

So if you have two inverters, I assume you have to do this for each inverter. I understand that the newest software will allow you to see a combined screen/web interface (when using multiple inverters), so you don't have to do the math to see the total numbers. Have you seen this yet?

I believe you still have to program each one, but I’m not aware of all if the capabilities of a paralleled system. I have seen images of the combined web interface which allows you to see a “system level” picture instead of just an individual inverter.

@AdamDeLayDIY2 ай бұрын
@@gt500shelby9 this is a 240v split phase inverter. You can get 120v by going from one of the hot leg outputs to neutral. There is no specific setting to switch it to 120v. There was a recent firmware update which allows you to output 120v if you have a 120v generator hooked up, but that’s it.

You made a big assumption. I don’t have a computer right now. Please tell me this model can be programmed using the display/control panel? Should I download the app for my smart phone. Might that work to program it? Thanks.
@AdamDeLayDIY5 ай бұрын
You can use the display to program most of the settings. I think there's only a few advanced settings that are only accessible from the web portal (fan control, factory reset). Even the mobile app doesn't have some of the same advanced settings that the display is missing. You can do all your initial config from the display though. That's what I did. The mobile app/web app just makes it easier to make changes because you don't have to scroll through menus and options on the inverter display.

I am past the frustration phase with eg4. I purchased the 2.4kw all in one system and it's nothing but problems. Why a company would sell a system that is not plug and go is beyond me. I imagine buying a Tesla vehicle but the battery doesn't communicate with the car or the charger and you have to figure that out. - Looking at either getting money back or smashing it with a hammer.
@AdamDeLayDIY7 ай бұрын
What 2.4kw system are you talking about? I'm not aware of anything like that. Most inverter based systems require some wiring to do a full install. The AC side of things is usually what takes the longest but it really depends on what loads you're looking to power from the inverter. It sounds to me like you want one of those larger portable power stations like the Anker F3800 or the EcoFlow Delta Max. That's about as "plug and play" as you can get (unless you're looking at have it power your entire house).
