Hi Guys, i want to share to you my very own Recipe of Ube Siopao Chicken Asado (Eggless). If you are a Lover of Ube or Purple Yam, you must try, this is so Yummy, very soft and moist and amazing taste of Siopao.
In this Recipe You Need:
For the Dough:
50ml or ¼ cup Warm drinking Water
7g or 1 Tbsp Instant Yeast
1 Tbsp Sugar
(mix very well and let it bloom for 15mins)
250g or 2 cups Flour (i used All Purpose Flour)
65g or ⅓ cup Ube Powder or Purple Yam Powder
75g or ¼ cup + 1/8 cup Sugar
½ tsp Salt
150ml or ¾ cup Warm Freshmilk (you use any milk)
the Bloom Yeast
50g or ¼ cup Softened Butter
1 tsp Ube Flavor
a drop of Cooking Oil
(Rest Dough for 60mins in Warm Place)
For Chicken Asado Filling:
Approx. 2 Tbsp Cooking Oil
4 cloves Garlic minced
500g-600g Chicken Breast diced
Approx. 2 Tbsp Cooking Oil
1 Big Onion minced
2 Tbsp + ½ tsp Oyster Sauce
1 Tbsp Hoi sin Paste/Sauce
3 Tbsp Soy Sauce
1 Tbsp Superior dark Soy Sauce ( you can use normal Soy Sauce if not available)
1 Tbsp Sugar
½ tsp Black Pepper Powder
½ tsp Vegetable Seasoning Powder (pampalasa)
30ml Drinking Water
For Forming:
2 Boiled Egg (sliced)
(Rest again for 15mins-20mins in Warm Place)
Cooking/Steaming Process: Cook or Steam for 20mins (make sure that the Water of the Steamer is already Boiled before cooking)
Note: If you like to double the Recipe of the Dough, you can double the amount of the ingredients but not the Yeast (do not double the amount of the Yeast). Good luck and Happy Cooking Guys!
