I'm impressed with how they performed for you. I have them and even though I sprayed the interior, every one of them stuck to the inside and left chunks of white behind. Didn't use them after that. But seeing how well they popped out for you, I'm going to attempt again and use more spray.... Thanks you two!

I have a 7 egg gadget that works very well. For more eggs, I've heard the Instant Pot does well. They both somehow make the eggs super easy to peel. Having said that, I'm impressed with the Egglettes. I probably wouldn't buy them but I'd gladly accept them as a gift. I can vouch for the Sous Vide. I've used mine a couple of times. I cooked a couple of ribeyes for 2 hours at 130° and, after searing them, they were the best steaks that I've ever cooked. The texture was unbelievable. I also did a 5lb brisket for 2 days at 130°. I was worried about doneness because I'd seen so many people cooking them at 150° but it was so freaking good and tender. I seared it under the broiler for a few minutes after slathering it with BBQ sauce. The good thing about Sous Vide is you don't have to constantly monitor it and you can let it cook longer than planned up to a point. Try it, you'll like it.
@2centchick6 жыл бұрын
PXT1958 I’ve been looking at the Sous Vide “cookers” for some time now but have been reluctant to buy one bc I wasn’t sure just how often I would use it. Do you use yours a lot? What types of things do you cook in it? What do you see are the advantages vs just using a traditional method. I’m still doing my research. 🤔 ~Rachel
@porter59766 жыл бұрын
2¢ Chicks The biggest advantage over other cooking methods is the meat is the same doneness throughout, unlike on the grill where the outside is more done than the inside. I have this one. It was $82 when I bought it. The popular brands are Annova and Joule. If they were the same price, I'd get the Annova. Mine is basic. It heats the water to your set temperature and starts the timer when it reaches temp. The Annova's, Joule's, etc have more features , i.e. Bluetooth. I didn't really need that. I did buy a 24 can Stacker cooler and cut a hole in the top the size of the Sous Vide. I've used this to cook with it every time. Plus I can keep the cooker, searing torch, etc in the cooler when not in use. Also, Sous Vide cooking allows you to cook at a lower temp because it kills the bad stuff over a longer cook time. There are formulas that are basically time X temp that determine that. I've only cooked meat in it. Well, I made mashed potatoes but didn't like them. The recipe had too much cream for me. Another benefit is, if you like well done steak, cook it first, then adjust the temp down to medium rare and cook another leaving the first steak in the water. That way they're all done at the same time. Then just sear and serve. I'm glad I have it and am sure it'll get used. Take the plunge. And when you do, we'll expect a video. www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01M6AZ8CL/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1517923320&sr=8-2-spons&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=wancle+sous+vide&psc=1

I don't find that cooking in an Instant Pot helps with peeling; their directions are to put in Ice Water before peeling. My father taught me that decades ago, plus peeling under cold running water. Could be that people who follow the IP directions are attributing the easier peeling to the IP rather than to the ice-water shock on hot eggs? Anyway, they're not THAT easy to pee with the IP; that's why I'm now watching the Egglettes video.

We received this product. I've seen some complaints that it didn't include instructions. It must have been written by someone who didn't have English as a first language. The proper method is to oil the inside. (You can spray oil inside, but it's good to move it around with your finger to make sure it's coated.) Then place the egg in the silicon part. I've heard a lot of different ways to cook eggs, so I was conflicted at this point. (1. Start in cold water and bring water to boil OR 2. place eggs in boiling water. etc.) I guess any of them would work. Whatever method you're used to is the one you should use - including length of cooking. One thing you will need to do is let the egg cool, so you can place the egglette in cold water. The egglette is just the right size to use a tablespoon to run down the side, but that might not be necessary. If your eggs come out rubbery, you cooked them too long. You can do it better the next time.

Freakin' Reviews I’ve seen your KZbin video on the Egglette as well and I wanted to point out an easy way to get the egg out is to oil spray the inside and boil for a full 15 minutes in already boiling water. Put in pot of cool water. Not for long. Like a few minutes. As they are cooling you simply squeeze the silicone bottom tipping the egglette upside down. KEEPING THE SCREW TOP LID TIGHTENED STILL. Just a slight squeeze to release the pressure on the inside. There is a tiny hole on top of the lid that when you’re slightly squeezing the air out of the lid of the container, the egg will release from the bottom without residue. Then while keeping your egglette upside down loosen the lid. Your egg on the inside will be loose on the inside and will plop right out. No spoon needed and your shell less hard boiled egg is perfect! They are also perfect for Deviled Eggs. Just a simple hot water rinse of the Egglettes and you can boil again!!!

There are actually floaty silicone egg cups that are similar to what you mention and are used just for that purpose....no lids. I sell them on my shopify, along with these. I started my shopify to sell my art products. But I couldn't resist adding some other collections, such as a silicone cooking/bakeware collection. I believe these silicone products are tons better than the old plastics and unlike the metal cookware, are non-corrosive. Also nontoxic and mosty nonstick and eco-friendly.

Hello Rachel and Katherine. I purchased 6 egglets for $4.35 and that included free shipping directly from China. And that in itself had me worried and a little concerned. My experience because I did not receive a cookbook and it came in a standard mailing bag and took 10 days to get here from overseas. I was excited when they came and I washed them with and soap and water. I followed the KZbin directions and made 6 eggs. I use them once and judge the product as total crap. They're sitting in the drawer currently I don't throw anything. Maybe I'll find a use for them storing some little pieces of hardware, screws, washers; that kind of thing. I found the ads that were on KZbin4 totally bogus. First I was not prepared for the change in the texture of the food. I even tried putting three of the eggs into the refrigerator. My first three that I made stuck to the silicone and did not come out even or looking appealing. The next three I made I use canola oil and after cooking I put them in the refrigerator to see how they would taste in a day or two. Day one, I wouldn't even give these to my dog they had a horrible odor to them. And they were recovered in the oil. I use the paper towel with some canola oil to coat the inside of the product. So now you giving me some encouragement that I didn't have the whole story and the you tube seller misrepresented the product. Even with the oil the eggs did not pop out of the silicone containers. Then when I was washing them I noticed that there was protein in the cracks and I disassembled the silicone base from the red plastic top ring . If you're not taking them apart to wash them I have concerned you maybe could The Conjuring up a surprise for yourself in the future.. I'd rather spend my time peeling the eggs and knowing I have a good product. I've been told by a home economic teacher that when the eggs stick to the shells after you cook them that it's a sign that your eggs are old or have not been properly refrigerated at some point in processing or shipment. And an additional aside is that you need to look at the color of your yoke of your egg and the consistency of the protein that surrounds it. If they are factory-produced eggs and the feed mix is not right your product is inferior. Find someplace else to buy your eggs. So we have a farmer who is just down the road and it comes down to cost of a dozen eggs $4.35 free-range chickens but have flavor taste and color and I know that they're fresh. The local Wally World and Ventura stores have very pale egg yokes with very thin whites. That is what is available within a range of 28 to 50 miles from my home. And yes I have talked to department heads and the store owner of the mom-and-pop Ventura store to let them know that their quality is lacking especially in the egg department. But there are also other things that you sacrifice when you live in a rural setting. Thumbs up on your video, thumbs down on the product.

My hubby ordered something like these, different name, and no instructions. He was excited as we have our first hens that just started laying. Well, the lids were hard to screw on and they just didn't line up right. But the worst was when I put them in the pan of boiling water. They would not stay standing. They would fall over with the rush of the water boiling. They have an airhole at the top so it was leaking out the egg white. Pan of water full of egg white. Ours did not have any type of holder. Great review, ladies! I'm in agreement... how would you make deviled eggs out of 2/3 of an egg shape? That would be an interesting video to do. 😁

Sweet ladies, I'm probably going to get these! I did buy a Granite pan that you reviewed and it works fine! Stay sweet ladies!

I could not get them to stand up, every one tipped in the side. , maybe a smaller cooking kettle?
@2centchick6 жыл бұрын
I would try a smaller pan. They do sell a tray to set them in, but I’m not sure it’s worth $10.
@mariab.19976 жыл бұрын
So now you have to wash the "shell" and store them! The reason there was no green ring is because they went from the hot water into cold, stopping the internal cooking. If you plunge your HB eggs into cold water after cooking, you will not have the green ring either. Great review. These would be good if I had a cracked egg I wanted to boil. Other than that, I'll just stick with knowing how to make a good HB egg without the gadget.

I used mine for first time tonight and they rolled onto their side when I put them in the boiling water. How do you keep them upright?
@2centchick5 жыл бұрын
We didn’t do anything special. Maybe if you use a smaller pan they would be closer together and unable to roll. Or maybe if you have a long skewer of some kind, like a bamboo skewer, you could put it through the little handle on top of the lid and let it rest on the pan. Hope that helps.

Ladies, thanks for the video . I was planning on buying these because my wife and me eat a lot of egg whites after working out but i think i'll just stay with the old way which to me is faster because i don't have to wash anything but the pot that had a dozen eggs in it. Real cool though.
@2centchick6 жыл бұрын
sthpac69 You’re welcome! Yeah they are not any faster! And if you don’t have an issue with peeling eggs they are not with it. Thanks for watching!
@sthpac696 жыл бұрын
2¢ Chicks! To make the shell come off easier when peeling hard boiled eggs, i add a dab of salt to the water before the boiling starts and the shell most times comes off really easy, and you know the salt doesn't touch the egg as long as it is not cracked . I learned this on board ship while in the Navy and Merchant marines. Try it out and see what you think. Some of this new stuff is just not worth the effort to save time because this deal looks like a lot of cleanup. Good day ladies and i still enjoyed your video and it saved me about $5.00 so it worked....lol
@2centchick6 жыл бұрын
sthpac69 Thank you for the tip! That is one I have not heard of. I will definitely give it a try. Thanks again!
@sthpac696 жыл бұрын
Peeling an egg really never bothered me. I might get a little frustrated from time to time, but it never made me try and think of an easier way besides adding salt to the water. It,s ok that some things stay old school, i'll just keep peeling them. I'll try try to just keep it as simple and as cheap to eat a boil egg
@LetUsTryThat6 жыл бұрын
I haven't heard of these before. My wife and daughter like to eat hard boiled eggs from time to time and this looks like it would be easier to cook them with the Eggletts vs the regular way and then pealing them later. It's a pretty ingenious idea to peel hard boiled eggs before you cook them. :-)
@2centchick6 жыл бұрын
Let Us Try That Definitely much easier than peeling! We were really surprised how well they worked!

I think the old fashion way seemed easier. But what they should do with the Egglettes is to have different shapes, suchas stars, cubes, etc. or what would really kick butt is a large one and u can put like a dozen eggs to make a Ostrich egg.

I gasped when you pulled the uncovered microwaved egg out. They are known to explode and have scalded people in the face, since ovens are more likely set up at close head range. Back when I used nuking, I had an egg cooker with lid. Directions said to poke the yolk with a toothpick before cooking to avoid a pressure build up. Hot sticky egg splattered on the face & eyes is unpleasant. Thank you for the demo, I liked the product for boiling.
@2centchick6 жыл бұрын
Elaine Marie Oh wow! That doesn’t sound pleasant at all! I won’t be using that again!
@elainemarie94706 жыл бұрын
2¢ Chicks Oh good. I didn't want anyone else to have an accident. Examples of people being burned made the news round awhile back. Often students would cook eggs in dorm room microwaves & find out how easy exploding could happen. I'm surprised it didn't come with a lid. Using a toothpick and cover with a paper plate would probably make it safe. Even with my covered egg cooker I would tap it briskly on the counter to release any pressure buildup before I removed the cover. Maybe if they haven't gone into full production mode yet, you could suggest they put a lid on it (that was fun to say in my head). Their improved silicone model is a great innovation. Perhaps they would make the addition, using the old hard plastic leftovers from previous incarnations. It is natural to be face down looking at the egg dish as you pull it out of the oven, so in perfect target range. It scared me, not to mention messy. Thankfully I wasn't harmed, but I do know literally what it's like to have egg on my face. LOL.
@2centchick6 жыл бұрын
Elaine Marie LOL 😜 The one we have does have a lid, but it came off when the egg expanded. Not good!

i had bought the eggies a few years back from the dollar tree store, i tried them out once, the problem i had with them was as they cooked they container started coming apart and that wasnt good after i cleaned up the mess i tried it one more time and they wouldnt even stay together to put a egg in it so in the garbage it went. now these look a lot better constructed and i see there is fewer parts too which i believe helps by watching your review which is great as always. there a few down falls as to why i wouldnt get it, the price for one its a little high i believe for what you get now if you got a dozen of them the price would seem fair, 2... as Rachel had mention when making deviled eggs how would you cut them and if you were making some for a party you would make more than six eggs at a time same with making egg salad. but it work i guess if you through something together in the morning as you are trying to get the kids ready for school, i think i would give it a try if the price was a little lower. was thinking maybe put some meat and cheese in first before the egg and then some on top maybe that will help get it through out the egg or just shake it. lol have a great day
@2centchick6 жыл бұрын
ken strampe Are the Eggies made of a hard plastic or did I make that up? Lol I was pretty sure I read that somewhere. I would agree the price is a little high! Yeah the deviled eggs would look a little funny and you’re right you would only have one per egg instead of 2 per egg. I probably should have mixed in the sausage and cheese with the egg instead of putting it on top. I’m sure that would have worked better. Thanks Ken! Have a good night! ~ Cathy

Seems a lot more time consuming than boiling the eggs in a pot, plus the added oil, and what type of chemicals are leaching from the plastic?
@heartsource4176 жыл бұрын
I got some last week. In the hot water they toppled over and the egg seeped out of the lids and into the water. The water was filled with strands of yellow egg and it was a mess. Maybe mine were not made right. I may try sliding a skewer through holes on the lids connecting them all and holding them upright in the water. Then somehow clamp the ends of the stick to each side of the pan. Or maybe I'll just put some eggs in water and boil them. : 0 What an idea!
@2centchick6 жыл бұрын
Aurora C LOL yeah putting eggs in water and boiling them would work too. 😂 Maybe you got some defective ones, we have not had that happen.

Thanks for the great review. I think these would be great for everyday use, i.e. breakfast eggs. They don't look conducive to deviled eggs shape and eye appeal wise. Also, you might have better luck if you pull them out of the water and seriously shock them in ice water.

Hi, new sub here :)Thank you for the review, I've been waiting for someone to do one on these. I am curious about what would happen if they weren't oiled first. Not all comercials show that you have to spray or coat inside of containers.
@2centchick6 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure why that is, it works so much better if you spray them.
@B6east6 жыл бұрын
Yeah...mine came with NO instructions, so thanks for making this video. Sure looks like more trouble than just boiling an egg and peeling it ! If the Egglette tips over in the water while cooking -( like if you don't want to boil all 6 at once) - water enters through the little vent hole in the lid, and water gets into your egg. Depending upon whether you are just boiling, or making an "omelet", the water inside could make your omelet soggy. All in all, I think they are a waste of money !
