My nephew is 23 and autistic they said at school he wouldnt amount to anything. They tranfered hin to a speacial needs school he thrived he learned how to play drums and oassed there equivalent to gcse.he niw hilds down a full-time job

That story is not encouraging but pressure. I also am positive no school ever said a student would not amount to anything. They have may have said they don’t think he will be able to live on his own without supports in place. Not every person with autism with be Temple Grandin with college degrees. Statistically even people managing to get a job, or a job through a special program will spend time out of work more than the general population. Autism is all over the map. Parents just need to see what choices there are in any and do the best they can finding the best fit.

Went through the same thing with my son. We live in the US and it's just as hard to get things going. I can say once the programs are in place it's so much better for the child. The difference in their personalities is significant. Sending good vibes they get Stanley sorted too. 🤞
