Well done on your first video . Not a bad EICR, one point though it is not strictly necessary to zero the test leads, if you don’t it’s not a problem you can deduct the leads resistance from the test result , but it is easier to zero the leads if you can remember not all testers have a zero function. Good luck l enjoyed this video nice to see someone get on with the job in hand and not spending half his time talking to the camera.👍👍

I was reading on the ie website where a guy was training to be an electrical inspector and he was failed for testing at the shower unit, when he asked what he failed he was told you only inspect upto the pull switch. I personally test at the shower and check for loose wires or burning. I've subscribed.

Yeah showers are a pig for burning out… we check the switch and test to the shower unit… don’t see why you wouldn’t… that’s crazy, there’s still a cable running between. If we can test it we do.

Why when doing rn+r2 test you put neutral lead into l1 terminal on megger tester just wondering why you wondering put it into neutral terminal on megger not started apprenticeship yet just trying to learn

No real reason, just the test lead I had to hand at the time.

It’s a solid tester but all depends what work you’re doing really. There’s only 2 Meggers above this one 1741 and the new X1 or whatever it’s called so it’s still a good tester to have.

R1 is live R2 is earth RN is neutral We’ve already measured live and earth so when we do neutral and earth the reading should be exactly the same… if we did r1 rn the readings would be less, due to less resistance, so doing rn r2 if the readings are the same then we’re good.
