That's what I call an "in depth" review!!! Very glad to see someone else with a good knowledge on polymers. Thanks a lot! Cheers!!!

I bought the impact driver and the circular saw yesterday. Was suffering from a little buyers remorse this morning after post purchase looking at all the negative reviews. Seeing the build has put some of my misgivings at ease. Thank you for taking the time to put together this content.

Using one of the bigger batteries makes quite a bit of a difference during use. Minimum 4AH minimum I would say. It’s RPM is at the lower end of the spectrum so it will obviously be a little less quick in cutting thicker / hardwood pieces. I used it for 3 months non stop now and I’m happy with what it can do as a DIY product. Getting a good quality saw-blade also helps.

@@toolteardown precisely what I’ve been using it for. Thank you for taking the time to respond to my post. Also, been building a miter station today and I’ve been loving using a cordless circular saw. So far it had only ever been a cordless drill driver, but not having a cord on the circular saw is phenomenal. It did well, but I hear what you’re saying about batteries and saw blade.

I bought the impact driver 1st I did racking install and repairs and dropped a dewalt and needed a replacement fast . toolstation had an offer and I thought. It doesn't matter how expensive a tool is if I drop it again it will smash so went for a cheaper option . never looked back . Once I was on the battery platform it just made sense. now looking at the cordless 18v nail gun just out. rude not to at that price

This was my second Ozito tool after the drill. It is a little underpowered, but only a problem if you rush a cut. You quickly learn its torque limits and how fast you can go. If I was using it every day I’d go for one with more grunt, but I’m otherwise very happy with it.

I was just thinking of starting with the same words as herberar below! I've never seen a review go this far before - quite often they're just an unboxing and maybe a couple of cuts. Immediate subscribe! I've never used Einhell gear nor even seen many reviews, so was concerned about quality. I get the feeling that's not an issue. It would have been good to see it in use, maybe with the track guides.

Very useful video - thanks! I've stripped my circular saw down to the motor according to your video as mine stopped working mid-cut. No signs of burning or damage but the motor will not start when I connect up the battery and pull the trigger. The light comes on but that's all. Any idea which component could be the culprit here and how to fix? It's only a few months old but I can't send it back to Einhell as I closed my Amazon account through which I bought it and I didn't save the receipt or order details! Impossible to return it under warranty therefore. Thanks!

Wow thank you very much!!. I have it and I was curious on how it look inside. Greetings from Chile, South America! (please make a teardown video of the 125mm Axxio cordless angle grinder from Einhell 🙏).

I'm not keen on the plastic leaver's on the depth and angle stop. And as mentioned the flimsy blade guard. Don't the angle leaver pull out so you can put it in a different position. Thanks for the interesting review.

I bought this saw after watching this video, TBH kind of disappointed by it being underpowered - like someone said in amazon reviews - above 3cm cutting depth it's going to start stalling all the time (I had 5.2ah battery in it). On the positive side it's very smooth and controllable - I have some old corded saw and that thing is way more powerful but also kicks like crazy when starting and rattles quite a bit, and kickback/catch force is quite scary. If you're new to using circular saw this is a good option because it's refined and not very strong, you will need to do multiple passes on deeper cuts. That being said I'm keeping it, just waiting on rails to arrive because that's my main reason for getting it and it will be perfect for cutting boards with rails (smooth operation and cuts fast enough on sheets)

Is it normal to have only a bushing guide on the main blade axle? Would have expected a big bearing on that side.
@toolteardown
@toolteardown 2 жыл бұрын
The bearing is on the shaft on which the blade is fitted. Which is the shaft on which the load is working. The motor shaft is "hooked" into th gear reduction and "only" has to deal with the motor torque load. More expensive saw's tend to use a bearing on this motor shaft, instead of a bushing.

Sad to see a return of the bowl shaped cooling fan, the last time I saw those was when tools were still made from all metal. They were always notorious for plugging up with dust and its already showing on this saw.
@toolteardown
@toolteardown 3 жыл бұрын
Centrifugal fans are more efficient and have a higher output pressure. They tried to mimic these effects with the small fan used in this saw, which in this application helps beside better cooling performance with clearing the work surface while using the saw without dust extraction. Because this saw is on the lower power output & lower RPM scale compared to some of the more reputable brands it gets hotter when used "impatiently" & there is less airflow at the lower RPM. You are right, as a downside they are more susceptible to dust clogging up the inside of the fan, but this is where I think they took that compromise as Einhell only targets the DIY market with sporadic users rather than the professional constant use market. (it will be outside of the warranty once the fan starts causing trouble in most cases, rather then running the electronics too hot for too long) They made it accessible enough though to clean out with some compressed air if it where to become troublesome. Modern day business, it's all about the money, not the engineering or quality anymore... If it's cheaper to replace a few products under warranty rather then re-engineer, re-certify & re-tool for manufacturing then warranty claims it is.

@@toolteardown The milwaukee circular saws use a standard radial fan on the gearbox side of the rotor. It requires the shaft to be ever so slightly longer but is well worth it. They also shrouded the motor for better cooling. I know Einhell makes tools for hobbyists, but some of the corners they cut seem excessive.

Dont understand the fascination with making the blade guard out of plastic.. I mean its got to be the most abused part on the bloody thing, Every time you leave it down its on the plastic guard, when you drop it, its going to be right on the guard !! They couldn't even be bothered to add some glass fiber reinforcement into the plastic... I had to bin my last cordless saw for this exact reason, Cut too low to the ground ripping a board, even though the board was up on blocks, the plastic guard touched the ground near the end of the cut, all I remember was an explosion and bits of plastic shrapnel flying across the room.. Swore id never buy another saw with a plastic guard.. Just No...!!

He does it, so u dont have to. Very informative. However altho spare parts are available. They are only obtained from Germany, an with vat an shipping costs, this makes it prohibitive. So a part costin €12 or less, with vat an shipping costs , rises dramatically to over €42! Just not worth it. You can almost get another for that price. When Einhell parts were stocked in Britain, it was more economic. Not now , tho........

No, it’s aluminium. They would not be able to offer magnesium for this price. Ps. It’s also mentioned on the manufactures website as being aluminium. ;)
