Heya, crew! Today we decided to revamp our dashboard in the cabin. We start by tearing out the old breaker panel. Then we build a new cover with an inset to receive the new BlueSeas breaker panel.

Really good work guys. And I know the look on the old man's face when you are satisfied with your work. Then you just consider the work an extra time or two. Greetings from Misery Bay. Northern Denmark

Fitment and placement are really important. You mentioned they were also back lit. Back on the schooner Eldorado in the late 60's I run red lights for nighttime running on all my guages and panels. Having them accessible during an emergency is key. Glad you're trying to over think all scenarios. Love your channel might make a visit home in August or September.

Maybe you can add a sliding glass/polycarbonate outside the panel . To always be protected from bumping also but in case of dropping water or a coffee mug maybe etc .

A couple small hinges and some thin plywood would make a panel cover to make it impossible to bump a breaker in bad weather. 2 dollars.

They are inset pretty far, we tried to "accidently" bump them off, and its very hard to do so. They are up and in far enough. If we do find it to be an issue though, we'll certainly add a see-thru cover to prevent it.

Great work guys looking good.Quick question why not use some aluminum for some of you dash components? you do such great metal work. I figured you would be jigging for cod or rock fish at this time. Are we going to see some fishing soon on the Fishtail?

Install a panel of hinged Plexiglass on the front to ensure that the breakers won't be accidentally tripped. Nifty thrifty workmanship guys.

As a class 1 driver for 26yrs, i always checked fluids before starting the motor in the morning, and once ive done for the day. Mid trips not so much, unless i noticed some change in pressures or leaks developed

Maybe a clear piece of plexiglass with a piano hinge on one side so you could see tripped breakers and still provide inadvertent switch bumping.
@EISAlaska
@EISAlaska 2 ай бұрын
We tried to purposely bump some of them off after install, you have to get way up in there to click them off. The inset is pretty far in to prevent it. If we do find that they still get bumped, the plexi on hinge is a great idea! Thanks for the comment Alex!

I’ve got a couple of Cummins-branded 8D batteries that I’ve had on my boat as spares… year old, never used. Anything you could use?
@EISAlaska
@EISAlaska 2 ай бұрын
That's a very kind offer, jeverich. I think we're ok on batteries for the moment. The shipping would probably be pretty exorbitant unless you're here in Kodiak.

A good suggestion might be to put a piece of plexiglass over the front of your switch panel
@EISAlaska

We'll definitely do that if we find ourselves bumping them. We tried to "accidently" switch them off a few times, its pretty difficult with the inset.

Greed, unlike fishing, is NOT at all sustainable. As long as you allow KZbin to assault your loyal viewers with 17,20,30,50+ second addsI will be disliking all your videos and your response comments. I have been with you since your very first post on KZbin and I really enjoy and love your family and content. That is why it is so wrong to attempt to extract every penny by way of the use of my time and your viewers time. We understand monetization is important for you. I'm merely asking to adjust the balance a bit. I want to rebinge watch your videos but the add time is too much. You guys are awesome!!!! Please keep the awesome content and family fun coming. I look forward to every video you post. Love you guys!!!

We do appreciate the comment, feedback, and of course our loyal viewers! We don't typically mess with ad placement much, KZbin picks natural breaks in dialogue or action to pick ad placement, to do so manually would take quite some effort. We don't control duration of ads whatsoever. We do make sure videos aren't "overloaded" with ad breaks. Again, thanks for the comment, we appreciate your support!

@EISAlaska I know KZbin has most of the control. Just you responding so quickly is amazing and im grateful. I also know that you greatly appreciate us. You've shown that. Also, you guys have inspired my son and me. Hopefully we will be as successful. Hopefully we can work together as well as you guys.

We clip sash weights on when we come up and down a sharp reef or edge. Helps with pulling the line down keeping it from "cloths lining" off the bottom.
