Eisenhower’s icy stare there was vintage Ike. I’d imagine that as an Army general he gave that stare to more than a few subordinates before upbraiding them. Ike could be jovial but did not suffer fools at all. He was a tough one.

@@noelvalerio5997 I didn’t say he was confrontational, but as a general and as president, he’d have been demanding to men who worked for him, and in the Army, to subordinate officers. His reluctance to publicly confront Joe McCarthy did seem at odds with his commander role, but he thought McCarthy was trash and did not warrant Ike’s attention. Also, McCarthy was a Senator, not an underling.

I don't have a problem with an executive playing a lot of golf. I've had many of my best conversations on the golf course and reached some of my best decisions. Golf is also healthy exercise and a person who's fit physically tends to be sharper mentally and more emotionally stable. Golf is a good stress reliever as well, and is an exercise in humility.

Bush stopped playing and obama ended up playing more golf than him but the media never mentioned it except to try to sell the public that obama was a great player who routinely took $ off his playing partners. Meanwhile he swung a club the way he threw a ball: like a girl. You have to give credit to the media for shaping the public opinion that they want. @@mbogucki1 You better believe it, whoever you are. Apparently, you are not up to speed. Have you heard about the strong possibility that the FED, IRS, International Rothschild Banking System and Etc coukd be put out to pasture? If not, here it is. Look at Eisenhower's closing address to the nation when he referred to the Military- Industrial Complex. Very few people at the time understood what he was referring to, but he was just touching the tip of the iceberg. John Kennedy was elected and he listened to that and studied the background environment of the world and figured out what was going on and his attempt to stop it got him taken out when he used the US Treasury to start producing silver certificates that had a real financial backing. One of the worst criminals that has ever been in the White House was involved in the Kennedy assassination and that, of course, was LBJ. If Johnson is not burning in Hell right now, Hell does not exist. Reagan made some rumblings about the Fed and the Big Banking System, and they almost got him ( and you know that (New World Order) Bush 1, was behind the effort to try to take him out ). Fast forward to today. Donald Trump has stepped up to the plate against much more opposition than any other recent POTUS has ever had and he defeated all of those entities enough to be elected. Those who oppose him on the right and the left are all either associated with the Deep State / New World Order, or they know about it and agree that Trump has to be stopped, and they tried to do everything they could to keep him out. We have this one last chance to turn it around before everything is flushed down the tube. Trump will definitely belong in the group that I just mentioned because I think there is a very strong possibility he's going to be able to do some of that and enough people know about it that we do have a chance. If President Trump could be successful in destroying the New World Order, the Federal Reserve, the IRS, and all that it stands for, which accounts for much of the long suffering evils involved with the international power struggles, he would belong on Mount Rushmore ! ! ! He is very aware that even if he could possibly pull that unbelievable feat off, he may not live to tell about it. MAGA ! ! !

And also, the enablers, what would Ike have done specifically to these people?
@johnschuh8616

@@tony84. The popular vote is determinative only for each individual state. We have a federal republic, or in other words, a union of states, each of which is equal under the Constitution So that accumulative number is irrelevant to the issue of electing the official known as the President of the United States. As to the point of what Eisenhower would have done, he would not have done what Trump did, if he had failed in 1956 which was to assemble hundreds of thousands of his followers to demonstrate to the Congress their unhappiness with the electoral process. That was not only unprecedented but unwise as it turned out. For one thing, the rioting in the capitol disrupted the efforts of his supporters in Congress to press for a challenge to the choices of several states. But all this is to forget that this election was the most irregular presidential election since that of 1876, which was decided not by following the Constitution but by setting up an ad hoc commission stacked with a majority of Republicans. Certainly in 1956 absentee ballots were cast in that election were few compared with the huge number cast in the crazy circumstances of the Covid-19 pandemic, or for that matter, the numbers cast in 2000. The confusing election in Florida was replicated in 2020 in all of the battleground states by the advocates measures employed in those states.

@@syourke3 You misunderstand what a multi-starred general does in a world war, especially when he is charged with keeping tenuously tethered allies together under most trying circumstances. If you like to read military history I recommend David Eisenhower's "Eisenhower at War." Even Stalin himself begged (more like conned) for American (Allied) involvement. Certainly the infantryman is important, but he will be destroyed unless there is skilled, professional leadership at the top. Otherwise you wind up with a General Burnside. Your comment also neglected the most determinative role in WWII, that played by Allied air forces. They made the difference in "softening" up the Germans prior to Normandy.
