BTW….Paul did mention, in his sign off, one of the things that made him proud is that he helped educate about firearms, ammo effectiveness, safety. He also very much liked that he saved his followers from spending $$ on things that may not have been a good fit for them. In closing he even apologized for dying so quickly. Amazing guy who will be missed.

Paul Harrell once shot and killed a man in self defense; was arrested, charged and ultimately cleared. He was an extremely intelligent and talented person. He had opinions about firearms and wanted to share them. He started his channel to provide information - or at least be interesting...while having fun. He did that. Some of his techniques -he would admit - were perhaps a little dated but his long-winded dry humor (he knew what he was doing) - he would explain why he thought that and it was always an enjoyable experience. I never heard of Paul until Caleb posted a video attempting to denegrate him. Come to find out Paul had been around for 10 plus years and had almost half a million followers. It was nothing more than cheap drunken clout chasing. I watched a couple videos and was instantly a fan - and was til the end. I'm admittedly a gamer - but I found his videos of shooting #4 buckshot through dry wall, shooting shasta bottles or opining on the merits of a .410 for home defense absolutely fascinating and essentially "pop corn TV." And Paul was a fitness guy, who became a dental hygienist and retired veteran a competition shooter and all things in between. Weeks before his death he shot a bowling pin match in Albany, Oregon. He was an original and he'll be missed. Caleb deleted the video and changed his name and I'm surprised anyone likes him. But I got to thank Caleb. If it wasn't for him, I might not of heard of Paul. Hey Caleb...EABOD.

I think the worst part about Caleb's original video was insinuating that Paul had no competition experience when he very clearly did as shown by his Distinguished Rifleman badge displayed prominently in some of his early intros. The Distinguished Rifle and Pistol badges are America's oldest awards for marksmanship going back to the 1890s but just not in sports people like Caleb consider "relevant." Paul also had the silver badge for Pistol which meant he was basically one or two good matches away from going Double Distinguished, which is a very rare and celebrated thing in the traditional/service sports. I exchanged a few emails with Paul before he passed and the reason why he never got to finish up his Distinguished Pistol badge while in service was because a war started up around that time...

The final straw was when he 'ratted' me out on a voting plan I suggested, in an effort to earn brownie points sucking up to the pro shooters (JJ and Blake). Caleb selling me out to move himself up the shooting network ladder was a rat move. And it appears that wasn't a fluke observation and continues to this very day. LOL Skill is skill on a shooting show. And in the end, I sent that kid packing !! Even his final departing words were cheesy and fake, if you ask me. Good riddance.

Paul was good stuff. I wouldn't say the peak of his life was his channel, he's an accomplished individual, but it certainly qualifies as a solid highlight. Caleb acted the ass and got taken to school for it. He started a fight on purpose and the other guy finished it so hard that Caleb is basically a meme at this point. Still, that one last dig by Paul was epic.

I love that this video exists and I appreciate you making it. I would have never guessed Caleb would whine and play victim even knowing how sensitive of a human male he is already. I am especially shocked to see how many simps have come out to comfort him in what has to be the most difficult time of his life.

First and foremost, you never spit on dead people. Second, Paul was an extremely intelligent man and also common sense, one without the other means nothing and he had both. You could learn from Paul from any of his videos if you realized you didn't know something. Insight into one's own ignorance is the beginning of one's knowledge. Paul left so much material that the work itself will live forever.

I don’t think it is “old school” gun people, whatever that means. It is just nasty gun people, whether old school or not. I think of old school gun people being people like Jeff Cooper, Bill Jordan, Skeeter Skelton, etc., and I don’t think they were mean or vindictive people.
