The tim kennedy story goes as follows. A few years ago he made some statements on a podcast to the effect of gun control is a massive solution. Fast forward a year or two and he partners with a company called double check that performs enhanced background checks by combing social media and giving an individual a social credit score. At some point he also wrote a book. As it turns out, like 90% of the book was bullshit, verified by people who were deployed with him for the incidents he sites in the book. Were talking full on stolen valor. The antihero podcast did 2 3 hour long episodes on it. Tim Kennedy is officially persona non grata.

I'm one of Holosun's first customers; I bought an HS502C directly from Luis Chirino back in 2015 and it is serial number 50. I am willing to risk my money testing new brands, and I have not regretted it with Holosun. I bought several Osight's when they were first released and I like them as well. The new Osight S is their best one yet, but it is generally too small for competition use. They have made rapid improvements to their products in a short time period.

People need to realize that the platypus foundation is not a 2011 it is much closer to a double stack 1911 it is a two piece system (slide and frame ) vs any 2011 is a three piece (slide, frame, grip mod) I think both are awesome and we the consumer win but there is a big difference between the systems.

For Chinese pistol red dots; Vector optics already makes a range of pistol red dots that are quite solid, warrantied, and at 100-250 USD street price depending on model and features. They also are the OEM of a lot of small US companies who sell the same damn thing for 2-3x the price. If you want to check stuff out at that price point you should grab some. Would be interested in seeing how they do when run hard.

I, to my surprise, picked up a vortex defender ccw for my Glock 43X and am honestly shocked how much I like it at least based on initial impressions. I edc a Glock 45 with an RCR and x300t (Alaska and woods stuff, I destroyed the glass on my rmr) and really like it. However, just as a dot, the vortex is smaller, as clear, maybe slightly larger in the window, also has the top mount battery, and the dot is incredibly bright. I think I got it for 225-250? I am blown away by how much I like it for the purpose I purchased it and the cost it came at with all the hardware it included. Fabulous experience and very excited to start shooting it.

Regarding the O-sight. If the battery doesn't last as long or longer than replacable batteries, what is the point? If you can get the optic lower on the gun, take less parts and become cheaper, maybe, but it seems far too much hassle, unless the charger has 10+ years of life in it and you dont lose it. I feel like they could have ditched the charger, made the sight cheaper, and allowed you to charge with a magnetic cable, then perhaps buy the charger separate or just instruct you to use a portable charger with it. I don't think the technology is there yet, but this may end up being how all small dots go eventually.

I got to handle the new Staccato this past weekend. It was actually pretty small. You could EDC that thing IWB and it would probably be more comfortable to carry than a G19. its not a very big gun. The trigger was good, about as good as any other 2011 I've tried. It's not so light that you breath on it and it goes off but its light enough to shoot fast and accurately relatively easily. I'm curious whether it shoots as nicely as the Staccato P. Seems like the Staccato P has a lot more to grab ahold of. I don't own any of them though and only have a couple hundred rounds through the platform.

Ben, I’ve had many Atlas guns and they are awesome. BUT they are race cars with race car maintenance. Even the Titan. After shooting the new HD yesterday I would say the recoil impulse and return to zero is equal to my Atlas guns. Now I’m not a fan of how the grip on the HD is fatter toward the top. Rubbed my knuckle a little raw after 400 rounds. The safety also is too easy to flip up. My support hand was activating the safety during recoil. Will have to have that fixed at a gunsmith. Interested to hear your thoughts when you get them.

I don’t understand why people pocket watch or complain that in some situations get some people get “special” treatment. It’s jealousy in my opinion. In this situation you (Ben) is prevalent in the firearms world. Hard on firearms and says what ever, whenever because he can and if a company says “here, let us know what you think” more power to the company. Its respectable. In the atlas situation who cares how it’s being paid for or why he’s getting it much sooner than others. Someone knowingly paying 6k for a potential 20+ month wait…. One or even a couple fire arms isn’t going to have much IF ANY impact. Some people just happen to be in a position that sometimes provides benefits that most don’t get

Hi Ben super glad i found your channel. On the budget optics topic id be curious if you have herd of Cyelee Optics? I got there srs8 model that is similar to the SRO for $200 and uses the RMR foot print. so far i have around 1300 rounds on mine and is working very well for me. I am new to pistol shooting so i have nothing to compare to really, so i would be interested to hear form a high level shooter. I know in the rifle optics world things have changed a tone in the last 10 years you can get a good FFP scope with accurate and reliable turrets for around $500. 10 years ago that would run $1500 minimum and still be at the low end of quality. I got a cheep pistol optic mainly because I was not sure if i would like it or if its something would be a beneficial to me. so i didnt want to go all out and then decide its not for me. turns out red/green dot sights are definitely for me lol.
