That Zero Kat, is going to cause ignorant people looking for shooting info to get hurt! I’m a Firearms instructor at a major west coast PD and had a neighbor ask me if I had ever seen Zero’s shooting videos. I told him I’d seen a few, and they were theatrics only. But not for consumption by anyone looking to practically apply anything he does. Zero is even worse now…. Because he seems to believe the BIO that he fabricated about himself. There are quite a few like him. He deserves the scorn. Keep doing Gods work Ben. Your instruction is insightful, awesome and very helpful across the board…. This little break in outing a turd, is good for the community.🤙🏻🇺🇸

Sorry but ...if I am not wrong Zéro has never explained that the fun shooting he shows can be used during the operation .. However, he teaches some technics to French special forces ...si I guess he has the capacities to teach real good combat technics. And Yes all the videos where he teaches something to SF are totally different... No shows .....basic training, focus and highly professional. Now if behind his screen the person thinks that the demonstrations done by Zero during his fun shooting is the reality or can be used in combat...I am sorry but I don't want to see this person as one of my brothers in arms because it's a stupid ....

On hoser stages mag change sets back significantly. In case there is longer distance to move between targets rather to change mag on exit, move or entry? Each has benefits and downsides.

Ben, you need to free your mind and utilize gym equipment in your training. I was just at a garage sale and picked up an old fashioned fat jiggling machine. This Zero back and forth is an extreme example of calling out a con artist because it’s should be so obvious. However, discussions like this are helpful to the consumer when it comes to less theatrical instructors. Perfect examples are some of the boutique training facilities with cult like following. People pay a lot of money to attend courses and many times leave feeling as if they’ve just been bent over in a San Quentin shower stall. They then question if this is just how all instructional courses are. An objective person at the very least should appreciate back and forth between instructors to gain a better understanding as to what to expect in a course, evaluate personality, nuances in training techniques from either instructor and look into it further before dedicating their time and money to a course/instructor. “Oh and behold thee, Stoeger who descended from heaven to save us and ascended to be our advocate.” ;-)

@@BenStoeger187do you think it’s still a good test of skill, especially run cold, or as a drill to provide the metrics that can guide what micro-drills to focus on, e.g. draw to first shot, reloads, splits, etc.? I must say that I’ve always thought that doing a Reverse FAST where you first shoot 4 to the body A zone, then reload, then 2 to the head may be a better way of approaching it. But I guess the Bill Drill at 7y, Bill Drill at 25y, and 4 Aces, would achieve the same thing and much more, no? Maybe the FAST was the first of the marketing drills aimed to get people coming back to the class to get their coins - something Jedlinski seems to have put on steroids, one can argue, with all those black belt standards of his.

Hey Ben, here’s a good idea for a video you should make and that is do firearms and emotions mix well. I say this because this video here reminds me of what happened recently. I am a member of a gun club and the club did some bs lately that basically punished over 1000 members for the actions of two people They sent out an email looking for members to help set up for an event. I simply stated that I thought it was wrong because they shut the club down for five weeks and we could not even practice for the upcoming match and I never cursed. I never threatened anybody. I never called anybody out the president decided to withdraw me from the following competition because he didn’t like what I said now I think when it comes to people in firearms particularly those in charge whether it’s in instructor or somebody running the club, they should learn to keep their egos emotions out of it.. you probably don’t but if you have any interest in the full story comment on this and I will reply with my email address and I can explain to you what exactly happened

Devil's advocate here: HOW is it counterproductive? Is it training the wrong muscle groups? Which ones are the right ones? Is there a specific injury risk with this that does not exist with lifting weights?
@AdamMalcolm967 ай бұрын
Elastic bands on guns? Elastic bands are for workouts. Moving a handgun's low weight, maybe a couple lbs for the heavy ones, back and forth isn't an muscle issue, its a muscle memory issue. You dont see the giant body builders on ipsc podiums. If you want to move your 20oz gun between targets, adding 10lbs wont make you better on game day. It might actually f you up. Hope that kinda clears up something. You'd get better use of your time focusing on building a grip from your holster than making your gun heavier. I'm kinda drunk right now so if this is nonsense just reply and I'll write something a little more put together😂

Ben, you're wrong about the general idea of introducing difficulty to an action to further improvement progression. I haven't watched any of the instructor zero videos, or read comments. I'm not defending him, but just basing this on what you said. Many pro athletes introduce difficulty during practice, such as basketball players wearing vision obscuring glasses. Then when you take them off, everything is so much easier. In my own shooting, I practiced dryfire/airsoft with wrist weights. Then take them off. And I am faster. It helped me break through my plateau of the speed I was at. You could also practice dry fire on a balance ball. Generally speaking, introducing extra difficulty during practice is a thing done in many sports for training. If that was not instructor zero's idea, then he's wrong too. That's not to say you can't get really good by only normal practice too. Have you tried it?

When gbrs group first burst on the scene a few years ago I remember seeing them in a vid using rubber bands in the gym in the similar way you describe zero doing, for weapons manipulation benefits. I thought it was odd but maybe these ops guys do employ odd techniques to train? Everyone has their own opinion about gbrs today but there’s no doubting they were legit operators with legit experience. There are many ways to do anything, with that though, I am not familiar with zero and don’t watch his vids.
