I've been doing plenty of biceps work, but not any elbow/tricep extensions. My elbows do pop a lot. I'll have to incorporate these moves. Thanks!

Sometimes the answer is so easy …ATM… thanks again Matt. When I approached my physician about my elbow pain, he said “ get a forearm brace and start taking ibuprofen, you’re over 50 now “…. So I guess you give up after 50? NO!!!! Thanks for helping us heal and improve our physical health.

I have very tight/dominant lats, weaker rhomboids/mid-back, dominant pecs, and therefore some shoulder pain at the moment. Trying to fix it all. I don't target biceps in my workouts, nor my triceps. Would incorporating some tricep work help with all of this? And yeah I can "crack" my elbow several times throughout the day as it builds up in tension. Thanks for any help in advance! Thanks you for your video however I'm not sure this applies to me but I could be wrong. My left elbow clicks when I use triceps/extend my arms eg diamond push-ups, same elbow has a tendon or medial flexer or maybe even ulnar nerve? that rubs over the inner bone as I contract/extend. Neither of these things happen with my right but both medial bones get very sore to touch or throb on occasion, those stretches are totally fine for me zero issues. Any suggestions warmly welcome & thank you in advance.

Thank you so much for this, I was struggling with minor popping and grinding in my left elbow, I did this stretch literally once for ten seconds and the grinding disappeared and the popping eased off. Now I`m going to add this to my warm ups from now on.

Hi, my elbow was forcibly being bent backwards and has been irritating me with clicking/grinding, do you think this would help me like it helped you? Mine isn’t severe and only when I have my wrist rotated and extend my arm fully.

Wow. I wasn't even getting popping or clicking, just straight-up agonizing pain in the elbow of one arm whenever I tried to lift one hand up to shoulder level or carry anything. It had been going on for weeks when my wife pointed me to this video, I tried the exercises at my desk while I was watching it and it was already feeling a lot better at the end of the nine minutes. I'd even been trying quite similar stretches but hadn't realised the importance of rotating the arm correctly while doing them. A day later and I'm barely even noticing the problem any more - thanks a lot!

Thank you so much! Been struggling the past few weeks. The last 2-3 days my elbow is so stiff and painful. I took a rest from working out and lifting weights for 2 days because of the stiffness and pain. With just 2 rounds of these, I felt a relief from the stiffness!

This is an easy exercise to address upper arm flab also! Having shoulder impingement in both shoulders, a lot exercises are difficult and painful. Just saw upper arm muscles tighten and flex! Elbow feels better TOO. Thank you so much! I always follow your ATM advice and it works so well.

I dont know if impingement is what i had. I couldnt move my arm to shoulder height without pain and i was 'locked' and unable to go higher no matter what level of pain i embraced, there was physical limitation stopping me,like the bones were misaligned. First i had to fix pigeon chest and rhomboids (touching and later clasping hands behind my back and eventually raising them n upper chest/collarbone massage) I now have full range of movement because several times a day i used to lie on the floor, later back against the wall, and stretch out my arms at full length to the point of 'good pain' that i could relax into, eventually touching fingertips above my head. Then i did Y,W,T,L shapes with my arms, the elbow lowered and as close to floor/wall as possible, eventually touching in the W and L positions.

I have had an injury in my left elbow for 9 months now, it wasn't bad at first but it picked up on the severity after a few weeks. Doctors told me the same thing, just wait, just stop playing basketball, but I never got pain from playing basketball. Usually I would get pain after I woke up, sleeping on my left arm and after being in a fixed position for a while. The second I tried this, my elbow stopped clicking, and for me the pain came from the clicking. THANK YOU. I feel like people over look the elbow as an important joint to strengthen, that was me at one point, never again.

These are great exercises for most situations, but be aware that rarely the popping comes from ulnar nerve subluxation, which you have to be much more careful about. If you don't see improvement after a few weeks, or if you experience finger numbness or tingling, even just for a moment around the popping, please see a doctor.

Perfect! I've got popping, no pain, so I'm going to see if this is my issue. Probably is. It's the same as being in the standing and sitting positions all the time and wondering why I couldn't get up from the floor! Thanks for this enlightening information. You're awesome. And you're so right about doctors and THEIR agendas. If we can fix ourselves, it saves time, money, and stops the abuse of the healthcare system. When will everyone wise up?

I’ve been struggling with elbow pain in my right elbow for 6 months now ever since I tried going to the gym for one week over the summer. Not only does my whole arm feel looser and less stiff but the elbow popping when extending is significantly reduced!

The focus for me is also more on the wrist and fore arm and rather strenghten the biceps then stretch it. U are discribing elbow problem. There is a high risk, since elbow is a hinch joint, the problem can be under and over the joint it self. Also check if you have a thoracic imbalance, it can effect the scapula wich affects the possition/rotation on the humurus.

I get soreness on my right elbow, on the inside. Sometimes side sleeping on either side makes it worse, so I try to start out sleeping on my back with the arm by my side, palm up and in a relaxed position, which helps also. @Matt are these exercises ok for any elbow pain ie on the inside or outside? I find my triceps and outer arm get a bit tender although the pain is on the inside. Tricep stretch with my elbow above my head, hand down my back has released some tension so far.

What about medial epicondylitis exercises. I think it has to do with flexor carpi ulnaris overuse. I do a lot of rows but I definitely do more tricep and push movements so I don’t think my triceps are the issue. I get clicking followed by soreness and throbbing after a gym workout but not during and or 2 days later…..

my issue isn't opening up my elbow it's extending my right arm behind me. I'm trying to think muscles and wondering if maybe my forearm is just weak. or tendons/ligaments
