However, Placidusax also lost arguably 3 of his heads (if his model more accurately portrays the number of his heads), a part of his tail and 1-2 of his lower wings. Okay so I know you can use the sleep potion on the priestess and that takes you down the route to get the dragonbolt of fortissax and her spirit ash, but you can't get the dragon priest form. Is they're anyway you can get the spell, and the dragon form in one playthrough? Because she asks you if you poison her and if you say yes she gives you her ash, but if you say no. Can you still get dragon priest form?

Most likely Bayle cut off 1 of 5 head likely middle one from Placidusax and got retaliated in returned thus his retreat. The other two head that got cut off are likely by Godfrey because it shown that Placidusax at one point have 4 head before he fought Godfrey. And finally we fights weathered and weakened Placidusax ending him Edit: I based this off faces that Bayle are described as one of the oldest dragon, and facts that we got picture of placidusax with four head

SPOILER...... Unfortunately, nothing... and this is the result of Miyazaki's decision to ensure that the actions of the base game have no consequences on the events and quests of the DLC and vice versa. I didn't appreciate it very much, honestly. It would have been MUCH more appropriate if for example Malenia had had a different pre-bossfight interaction or cutscene (Sif style so to speak), if you complete SotE and kill Miquella, before facing her.....or if Florissax reacted in somehow, if you meet her after killing Placidusax. Or even other things. It's one of the negative points of this DLC, in my opinion.

Nevermind, if you killed Malenia before fighting Miquella or vice versa. Plus, i don't believe you get any new endings from the DLC either? Which again, is a bit of a letdown, since Fromsoft usually puts the canon (and least shitty) ending in the DLC.

Yeah, the dlc not having any effect on the main game kinda makes the dlc a 8/10 because of that and also because of how underwhelming the ending is. The beginning and middle are solid 10/10s to me, but ending is just whatever, the build-up to the final boss was amazing, but after beating it, it felt kinda whatever

If you want her spirit and spell you can still get the dragon form you just need to get the Rock Heart from the dragon painting puzzle in the DLC. I believe it buffs communions and not dragon cult spells only difference both hearts are reusable.

I find good tip on wiki How to Get Dragon Wife: 1. Progress through Thiollier's Questline till you get his Concoction. DON'T USE IT ON YOURSELF. 2. Head towards the Grand Altar of Dragon Communion via the Dragon Pit. 3. Meet Igon along the way; exhaust his dialogue. 4. Get to Grand Altar; meet D-Wife, exhaust her dialogue. She tells you to scale Jagged Peak and kill Bayle. 5. Climb the Jagged Peaks till you meet the two fighting dragons. Kill them and meet Igon again. 6. Exhaust his dialogue. 7. Go back to Grand Altar and talk to D-Wife about Igon. 8. Pass time at Altar site of Grace till nighttime. D-wife will be asleep. 9. DRUG HER WITH THIOLLIER'S CONCOCTION. 10. Pass time till day (May need 2 days before she wakes up) 11. D-Wife is distraught she broke her oath to the Dragonlord. (Exhaust her dialogue) 12. Climb to the summit of Jagged Peak. 13. Fight Bayle and SUMMON IGON TO HELP USING HIS SIGN ON THE FLOOR. RIGHT AFTER YOU ENTER. 14. Die about 50 times (or not) 15. Kill Bayle while Igon is summoned. Hear his victory rant and unlock the site of grace. 16. IMMEDIATELY TP BACK TO ALTAR AND TALK TO D-WIFE. 17. She rewards you with Dragonbolt of Florissax. 18. Talk to her again and ADMIT YOU DRUGGED HER. She understandably, tells you to **** off. 19. Do not, instead talk to her again. She demands you become her lord (Mission Accomplished) 20. It never was Godfrey, that's a common misconception. Godfrey fought the Storm Lord, the ruler of Stormveil castle, not the Dragon Lord.

I think Bayle was one of the intermediary species between the ancient dragons and the modern dragons. He retains much of the raw power of the ancient dragons, including power over lightning, but also has the flames more common among his lesser kin. If I had to guess, I would surmise that Bayle challenged Placidusax for the position of Elden Lord in a world where the ancient dragons were losing power and numbers, ultimately failing, but not before each crippled the other.

I believe lore and dialogue implies that Bayle ambushed Placidusax, they fought and Bayle fled. But nothing conclusive so far. And plus, we are listening to a Placidusax follower so she may be biased and painted Bayle as more wrong than he might be. We have no idea what Bayle's motives are, but it could be what you suggested, it could also be how the ancient dragons were the ones that were chosen by the Greater Will and were worshipped by the Beastmen of Farum Azula and maybe because of that, the Drakes were considered lesser dragons and Bayle maybe didn't like that. It could also be both. It's fun to speculate, elden ring lore is amazing and dragon lore is my favourite (I love dragons)

Well he's not a prerequisite to enter the DLC, so you can technically enter before defeating him. But the DLC is definitely difficult enough to be considered endgame content, and I don't think many would start and complete it immediately after defeating Mohg. That said, I think from a lore perspective, Placidusax exists outside of time? So even if you did do this quest before killing him, it might still work canonically anyways.
