Yeah, fresh characters are the way to replay these games. Ng+ is fun for a while but a large part of the enjoyment of the games is building your character, finding new gear and getting to new areas. That's one strength of Shadow of the Erdtree over other expansions in the series. It keeps that character progression alive.

I want to echo what someone else said - it would be super entertaining if you played with Taunter's Tongue on during PvE. Just keep it simple and treat the runes you get from killing Taunter Tongue invaders as PvE runes and don't level up with them. It'll make the PvE areas a lot more crazy and entertaining if there are goofy invaders (and goofier hunters if you turn the white ring on) running around, compared to just watching you go through and clown on all of the NPCs for the 4th time. Still the same amount of PvE, but just spicier and we get to see you on the other side of invasions for once.

Interestingly, the golden parry ash supposedly only has 6 active parry frames (at 60FPS) since update 1.12 TLDR: The Carian ash is literally 2x as good as a medium shield parry lmao

These are always a fun watch. Btw, you probably already know, but you can buy the beast repelling torch at the Caelid merchant so you can get items that are guarded by animals without having to fight them. Works on any animal, including bears (probably not rune bears, but I'm not sure,) with the exception of the undead skeleton dogs. You can two-hand your weapon and have the torch effect active if you don't want the light. Also, you can frostbite the crystal soldiers and they'll move extremely slow, turning them into basically a free kill. But I don't remember how early you get frost infusion, tbh. Anyways, sorry if you already knew all this 😅 Looking forward to the next one!

6:35 afaik, you can't (unless you parry him). Night riders have 80 poise, but they have a poise reduction multiplier that makes their actual poise 400. You'll kill them before breaking it. Another enemy with similar feature is ancient dragons. They've 600 effective poise, 300 if you hit the head.

Second comment, but I looked it up: Festering Fingerprint Vyke is immune to all status effects. Interesting enough, his Lord Contender form on the Mountain of the Giants is also immune to all status effects. This of course doesnt mean all phantoms are immune to status, as I use bleed frequently on in game invasions. Still, this is pretty interesting, and I wonder why that is...

FYI, Chase, for your next run, there's a way to avoid madness in that area if you skirt the left side of the hill. There will be a spirit spring which you can time to use and jump with torrent to the base of tower kill the commoners on top and kill the eye of Sauron in the process.
