you dont need this overly complex strategy all you need is the sword MiLady and use its weapon art against her, the stab has a long range and when she finishes any attack is extremely vulnerable to it.

For anyone who's having trouble with her, use the ashes of war black knife tiche and use the swarm of flies incantation, and if you have a bleed build, it works even better.

In Elden Ring's release, (and literally even years after) the main reason for people struggling with the game was "Low Vigor". In this DLC's release, I think it's probably going to be low Scadurtree blessing. I didn't have an issue with this boss, died like twice, with a Level 5 blessing. When I got summoned into my friend's world with a level 2 blessing, that's where I saw the difficulty spike. So, seriously, just look around for that glowy bark for your damage and defense buffs. It REALLY helps.

The blessing doesn't make as drastic a difference at that point as you'd think. If you were getting wiped on his world and not yours that's probably due to stat nerf from level difference etc because the difference between level 2 and 5 is 15% that's a difference sure....but as I get 2 shotted by 90% of enemies and 1 shot by most bosses anyway it doesn't make a notable difference, the main issue could be as I say 1: stat nerf and 2: world buff due to a summon

Yea I fought rellana with a lvl 3 scudtree and I got her to 1/4 of her health before dying. Heard about the scudutree stuff everyone is going on about and thought "oooo that's why I'm dying so much" I then went out and got lvl 6 which is the highest I could get before killing more bosses I think. I then went back to rellana, and I got to 1/4 of her health again. Still was getting 2 tapped by her combos. I just did a little more dmg. My ar went from 800 to 900 from 15%, so yea, they make a difference, but only when you are at lvl 20 blessing

I was using a strength build with no bleed/cold/lightning etc. and no summons (this was just a bar I set myself I don't flame ppl for using summons), the first phase wasn't bad since you can punish quite a few of her combos, but second phase is like the ultimate counter to str builds so I had to cave and use mimic and beat her first try xD

I had some trouble. Using the HP rune helps a lot. Use the rock throwing spell to break her stam and if you can get the stab. But throw on the moon for your mimic. My mimic was throwing moons like fucking crazy. Was soo much easier taking spells off so my mimic wouldnt use anything but throwing stones and the moon. I'm level 120 so thanks for the help on that rune, Forgot there was one to greatly increase health.

Just use Fingerprint shield and serpent hunter+10, stab stab stab, let stamina recover bit and back up and heal if necessary. Go back and stab stab stab. No need for dodging as you stay behind your Fingerprint shield. Only tricky is phase 2 where you need to choose your stabbing moments bit more wisely. Beat her solo with this without a single rolling. It almost feel like cheesing but it's a legit combo and you still need to manage stamina and health. No ashes or summons or it becomes kindergarten easy

Btw they added a two headed turtle talisman with the dlc and it greatly raises stamina recovery speed so it’s even better then the regular one. Forgot where I picked it up in the shadow realm just thought I’d say.

Okay after learning that she is weaker to lightning and didn't want to build anything to crazy; I just slapped on the thunderbolt ash of war and lightning affinity to my Backhand blade and no joke with the summon and mimic distracting her I beat her in one try just spamming thunderbolt. 1 mana estus flask was more than enough lol. All in all I believe my strategy was more cheesy :D

So I was level 170 and used a Rivers of Blood and a blood uchi with Alexanders Jar Shard, the Mohg blood talisman, Rotten Wing Ensignia and the talisman that makes jump attacks more powerful. I also had a mimic tear. I was able to first try her with this build. Bleed is still really good in the DLC.

I was using milady with the mirror shield which helped trivialize a lot of the magic attacks. Struggled for a few tries then went in without Leda and beat her. I messed up at the end and ate all 3 hits of the twin moon spell but survived (60 vig + mag neg talisman). I did use mimic tear but I would recommend not using Leda as it makes the boss that much more tanky. My same strat got me through the lion dancer too. The bosses seem much easier without npc summons but not "easy". For some reason the cleric boss before the abyss woods gave me the most trouble so far. Quickly threw my hands up and summoned another player for help. I think the challenge is great but would also agree that a lot of the new bosses are extremely aggressive. I couldn't imagine being a new player who has never beat the base game or Malenia and trying some of these bosses.

Keep him in the water and hit him with lightning. Jump when he throws down the blue balls. Not easy but not that bad. I used Bolt of Grandsax. Mimic with lots of lightning spells.

...and don't forget, even if she's the first boss you encounter, you don't have to defeat her first. There are "official" (i.e. no glitches or anything like that) shortcuts to progress through the level.

Use bleed and repetitive attacks get stronger use mimic tear and spawn the npc to help also. Use physic at 50% health

DON'T FIGHT HARD, FIGHT SMART!!! I beat this boss my first try!!! I summoned the helper by the boss door entrance. Then once inside the arena, I summoned my mimic tear +10. So the boss had two strong foes attacking her at once and was overwhelmed. I then stood there and slammed down the blasphemous blade over & over and she bit the dust in less than 30sec! Not even a challenge. Malenia was harder, she took me TWO tries lol!!!

Btw I didn’t use summons and I’m on ng7 she must have some serious bleed resistants because I’ve tried using 2 ROB katanas and I couldn’t get bleed at all in first phase but after 2 jumps with the peelers it blows through her 3 million health with bleed 🩸

Seriously, why are half the bosses in this DLC sporting healthbars like 50% too long. I find them so boring for the most part because It's the same damn attack combo spam over and over with no changes, then one actually interesting attack comes out and you die because you'd never seen it before, and now you've gotta slog through another 5+ minute phase 1 again. If they were half as long it would be a much better experience. Such a disappointing experience in bosses for me so far after the base game's variety.

The people that don't understand why the heart of elden ring hates on summons is because they've never played the old dark souls, demon souls, sekiro or bloodborne. In these games you most of the time didn't have a chance than to find a pattern in the moves and learn from hundreds of deaths. The fun was learning how to play a boss, now you can ace almost every boss with a summon even if you have never played it before. No hate to those that do use summons to make the game easier but the core of elden ring or the souls comminity understands what real pain is in these kind of games.
