After read the description of Rollo's ashes, and seeing the connection between Gideon and perfumers (Two of them work for him) I thought many times if Gideon used this perfumers feel remover potion. It explains his strange passivity.

It could probably go either way but I think it's worth noting that Gideon was terrified by Marika's Will, the Omenkillers may not feel fear

I love the archetype of characters using potions and concoctions to fight, so the perfumers always interested me. I like how some of their lore touches on how perfumes often used animal parts, like beaver castor oil, in the real world, translating it into the poachers going after living jars for perfume ingredients

I might be wrong, but I think the Miranda Blossom boss in the Weeping Penninsula was once called 'Miranda the Blighted Bloom'. It could have been changed to further support this theory. There's also a small detail you can miss in the Omenkiller and Miranda boss fight. When you first enter the arena, it almost looks like the two are talking to each other with how close they are. Strange. On an unrelated note, is there any deeper lore around the mines? I always wondered why you could find Gravel Stones in a mine with no dragons anywhere around it, and Astel doesn't seem to have any scales of its own.
@foxywoxy1915 Жыл бұрын
With dragons having ruled before the Erdtree, and their lord/sorta capital being stuck out of time, the Lands Between could’ve gone through massive geological changes and corpses of ancient dragons could’ve slowly decomposed, finding their stuff in the mines. Or, we could have some space-bending time stuff going on related to Placi. Also, I think that boss has kept its name. I like the touch with its name, given its in a cave filled with poison and fungi, which “blight” refers to
@aristobrat4987 Жыл бұрын
i think its to suggest , like in norse lore , the very earth itself is nothing more than the behemoth body of something long since dead. the dragons are made of stone , which i take to be they are living stone , not living things covered in stone. they are living , breathing , gold blood bleeding stones. theres so many massive skeletal remains aswell , whos to say those giants and the dragons werent allies or even kin ? Dragonburrow ( likely have the name wrong) where you find the giant dying dragon. that means Dragon Mountain , but more specifically the term is used to name a place of ORIGIN. so we can assume the dragons lived in old Caelid. im ranting and off topic now but yeah. i think the earth is more dead living creatures than regular stone and rocks.

This is a lot of rambling. Just going through some ideas. The Crucible is seemingly related to the most downtrodden npcs and enemies in the game. The Omen, the Misbegotten, perhaps even the beast/simian-esque Demi-Human--but at the same time seems to me to be connected to some primal/primordial wild nature. I think the Misbegotten are like a chimeric product of the prior age. They have human-like intelligence and faces, along side reptilian tails, bird wings (some with large wings capable of flight and others with featherless looking chicken wings)--and some, the Leonine Misbegotten, obviously take after lions--but nature is more than mammals (Beasts), reptiles (Dragons), avians (Hawks) and human-like intelligence, it's also plants. This is coming from nowhere in particular but maybe Miranda, Maiden of the Flower Crucible was some kind of dryad or simply just related to the Great Tree or the flora aspect of the primordial crucible. The Miranda's Prayer statuette looks too much like a person with discernable feet (thanks Miyazaki) in a ballerina-like pose to be simply a 'flower.' You could take the term of 'flower' literally, or it could be some kind of euphemism for young women. Gowry also refers often to Millicent as a flower and the although Millicent and Malenia become Scarlet Aeonia upon defeat, flowers don't really have anything to do with Scarlet Rot prior to Malenia. We theorise that at one stage in the past, the Outer God of Rot had a physical body or vessel in the Lands Between--appearing as a Scorpion--before the Blind Swordsman defeated and sealed it at the Lake of Rot. The Servants of Rot and the general affects of rot are related to mushrooms and poison and the Kindred of Rot are anthropods. If we believe that Melina is Marika's daughter and was born at the foot of the Erdtree, and yet she is somehow also connected to the Gloam-Eyed Queen that Marika, through Maliketh, defeated--whose to say Malenia and Miquella aren't also connected to or reincarnations of previous Empyrean rivals.

I've always loved the perfumers because they seem like pretty chill, nice people. I've always wondered if the perfumers and miquella interacted with each other seeing that they seem to share similar values of inclusivity and anti racism. Also, Tricia is an underrated spirit ash. She's not great with damage, but her perfume is very useful.

First - nice sponsor! That Elden Ring chair is gorgeous. I want it but don’t need it enough to justify it. Lol. Second- “revivification” what a word! Holy crap lmao. I didn’t know that was a word. I like it haha. Last but not least - I always liked the Perfumers because I liked their clothes. To me, they really give off a… like, Middle Eastern hashassin (I think that’s how it’s spelled? The first assassins) vibe and I’ve always liked it. I didn’t know about the item that was cut with the Flower Maiden thing in it, or if I did I hadn’t heard it in a very long time. It is interesting though - Melina would be two different maidens at the same time if she was the person Miranda is supposed to be. She’d be (playing the role of) the maiden that gets burned (I forget the name) while also being the Flower Maiden. So that could have kind of shown the player that there is more to Melina that she isn’t telling us/she doesn’t remember. It’s cool. Or maybe she could have been the Flower Maiden a long time ago and isn’t by the time we play. Who knows. 🤷♂️

Because of this video, I have a new perpective on the Depraved Perfumers. Now, I have more context on why some hate the Golden Order/Erdtree so much! Some may have develpoed a form of PTSD, or, went insane all together, when they were forced from their purpose, forced to maim and kill, it's no wonder some of them became "Depraved", "corrupted"! So, to curse their former masters, they went to extreme lengths, who probably felt betrayed, to give the Golden Order/Erdtree just some of that pain and anger that they feel! I wouldn't be surprised if some went Frenzied at some point!

Tbh i think there is quite a lot of merit to you theory, especially considering their connection to fire. Sure this fact may have been forgotten or ignored among the forces of leyndell, but burning the erdtree is the first cardinal sin and why this practice was prohibited in the first place. Imo the curse they place upon the erdtree is their hope somebody will burn down the erdtree one day and deliver them from serving an injust system. It makes sense they would continue to seek out fire aromatics provided by the powders of miranda, and even worship the kindling maiden who will one day burn down the erdtree again if the cut content is to be believed.

The fact that a Flower Crucible existed at some point in history makes me wonder what other forms of life were specifically created and flourished during the Crucible's time. Since it's a giant melting pot, I like to imagine that many beings mixed of everything ie such as Omens and Misbegotten existed alongside more stable forms of life, like Mirandas and so on.

Bro me and you would have great talks on discord. I'm like 600 hours in on ng3 and I've started to notice things on the map no one else has yet. Tiny tiny details no one thinks of because they take things at face value and forget 1000s of years have passed just before the shattering not even the 1000s of years that existed before then. I also think I know what the frenzy flame really is.. and I don't think it's a god like everyone thinks. And I've read all Martin's books so I can see how he's thinking when he wrote This story. I've seen and noticed things no one else ever has. It's all in the details of everything together. I think together we can build up some more deeper meaning to the. Tiny details and flow of the world. Why it's so messed up and how it even got destroyed in the first place
