20:05 It is not something that is explored in depth in MH but religions do exist in their world and there likely different religions each with their own pantheons. In far remote areas where the Guild still has little influence due to their remoteness the local people, with a lack of scientific understanding of the natural world, do superstitiously believe that many of the monsters, especially Elder Dragons, are gods or divine beings. Some notable examples of in game religions are: 1. There is a place called "Fire Country" that is a reoccurring place in quest descriptions where the people believe a volcano is their god and whenever there is an increase in magma activity they believe it is their god becoming angry. However, their princess knows it is some kind monster causing the increase in activity with its digging and personally contacts the Guild for help. 2. Akantor and Ukanlos are named after gods in their world. When Akantor was first discovered and the Guild were evacuating the nearby settlements the locals told them it was the "Black God" from their legends. And so the Guild named the monster after that god: Akantor. It is the same story with Ukanlos 3. The Rajang Long Sword explains that it used by warrior monks and in Freedom Unite a monk monastery in the mountains near a volcano do ask the Guild for help to deal with a Rathalos and a Rajang on separate quests. 4. The Black Blood material from a Savage Deviljho and a certain Gigginox material in 3U are said to be used in dark ceremonial practices

The "White Fatalis kills the player" comes from two possible outcomes: Lore-wise: As you said, Fatalis takes the hunter's body Gamepla-wise: In Frontier, there's a certain ability that white fatalis has, in which it visually vaporizes the player. In game, it only counts as a faint, but the fact that the game flat out disapears the body when gettin attacked, suggest that white fatalis kills the player.

@@OrgBrent Frontier is canon, weirdly to many people's distaste. However as you say, using anything directly or roughly said by frontier descriptions is always iffy. But I think trying to say that full cart kills are too extreme, or white fatalis's vaporization (which already sin't really canon because Hunter's road is just a endgame) makes it not canon doesn't add up. Was it us the Protagonist? Or was it the brother of that woman from Kokoto Village in Monster Hunter, and Freedom? 9-In Monster Hunter 2 Dos theres a board in that village that tells you to pet your Poogie before Quests for something.. 10-In Monster Hunter Frontier, Zenith White Fatalis and Berzerk Ravienth are the only Attack that actually Kills the Hunter, 1 vaporizes the Hunter and 2 Swallows the Hunter. 11-Some people said that the copy of Monster Hunter either helps you get rarer items or makes it hard.

27:48 okay first, you said “triple meaning” and only talked about one of said meanings, except that one you talked about was kind of just all three merged into one. The apex monsters you talked about are mostly related to the frenzied ones- you did mention something about apexes chasing groups of monsters “into battle”, but the ones that do that are entirely seperate from the ones that overcame the frenzy virus. They have the same name of “apex”, but are entirely unrelated. These apexes are the ones influenced by Narwa and Ibushi. That’s what the one in the image is. Frenzy apexes are simply regular, powerful monsters that were inflicted with the frenzy virus, but overcame it. Also, unrelated, but keep in mind Frontier isn’t canon to the main series. Then there’s the whole thing about the dragon war- the equal dragon weapon in particular. Long story short, it never canonically existed. And Fatalis never literally “commanded” monsters to do its bidding- other monsters are simply scared of it, not straight up following orders from it. Anjanath and Barioth most definitely never shared territory- Anjanath lives mainly in forests and occasionally deserts, while Barioth lives exclusively in snowy areas. There is nothing at all that states Monster Hunter Stories and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings Of Ruin are canon to the main series. Collaborations are *definitely* not canon, and neither is the movie. There are absolutely no “portals”. And possibly biggest of all as far as I’ve watched, what the actual hell, monsters are not evolved dinosaurs. This is an entirely unrelated world to ours. I know there’s a ton more misinformation in this vid than just that, but I honestly can’t be bothered writing about it all. All I’m really saying is, if you’re going to have someone who hasn’t played a monster hunter game before make a video about it, at least have someone who knows more about it watch through it and correct it first.

Like in the Bionicle Iceberg "The Dream" is a fan thing and yet its part of the iceberg, its not cannon or part of the lore. So even though a lot of of this is complete nonsense its still part of the community and their theories and the series as a whole. Gaismagorm's weapons have the same kind of structure as Shah Dalamadur's, they describe "Fourteen terrors of the black abyss" which seem to represent natural disasters: Abyssal Eruption (GS): The first was a great rising column of fire. Abyssal Flicker (LS): The second was a fork of deadly lighting. Abyssal Sunburst (S&S): The third was a sun to dry even the sea. Abyssal Celestials (DB): The fourth was a dark sun and pitted moon. Abyssal Icicle (Lance): The fifth was a ice shaft scraping the sky. Abyssal Rockslide (GL): The sixth was the rage of mountains alive. Abyssal Windstorm (Hammer): The seventh was a wind to wipe all away. Abyssal Hollow (HH): The eighth was a pit to swallow all things. Abyssal Torrent (SA): The ninth was a torrent to wash all away. Abyssal Splitter (CB): The tenth was a crevice to split the earth. Abyssal Insectoid (IG): The eleventh was a horde to devour all. Abyssal Hailstorm (LBG): The twelfth was hail raining from above. Abyssal Nova (HBG):The Thirteenth was like spreading stardust. Abyssal Void (Bow): The last turned the world to nothingness. It's also been theorized that they represent various Elder Dragons: The great rising column of fire is Fatalis. The fork of deadly lighting is Kirin. The sun to dry even the sea is Dire Miralis. The dark sun and pitted moon are the Magalas. The ice shaft scraping the sky is Velkhana. The rage of mountains alive is Zorah Magdaros. The wind to wipe all away is Amatsu. The pit to swallow all things is Nakarkos. The torrent to wash all away is Ceadeus. The crevice to split the earth is Dalamadur. The horde to devour all is Malzeno (I suppose it's more accurate to say it's the Qurio, but they're not real monsters so whatever) The hail raining from above is uuuhhhhh... also Velkhana? Oroshi Kirin maybe? The one that was like spreading stardust is Safi'jiiva. The one that turned the world to nothingness is White Fatalis.

This is a solid iceberg explanation however there’s a lot of holes that you didn’t fill or just didn’t know enough about the ecology of the creatures to understand the lore. For instance when you ask the question “how many kushala were killed to construct the tower” the answer to that is more than likely 0 as not only did the ancients basically worship the elder dragons as gods so they weren’t out there hunting them like the hunters of modern age but also and more importantly, kushala sheds his skin so it can be firmly believed that the tower was made out of the sheddings left behind by kushala rather than potentially hundreds of thousands of them being killed to construct a tower.

The “monsters are dinosaurs” part was so ridiculous. All wyverns, even the more Dinosaurian ones, all stem from the ancestral wyvern rex. All wyverns from flying wyverns to brute wyverns all hail from this ancient beast. Surprisingly, the wyvern that resembles this extinct wyvern the most is tigrex. (Edit: my bad, I thought you wouldn't touch on wyvern rex) Further edit: i now know that the brute wyverns actually use real world dinosaur classifications. Official statements tend to be the strongest forms of evidence since they're... direct confirmations. But hey, feel free to continue reading if you aren't tired of my mindless rambling yet. Are you the type to consider all non-game media non-canon? Because we have things like books for various games, Japanese exhibits and show floors, a Netflix film, and Twitter posts that include information that don't appear in-game but are considered canon. That's ignoring a TON of lore bits. Things like adult Gobul, Zinogre's muscle structure, Nerscylla with other pelts, Anjanath's skeleton, the Ace Cadet's origin story. Even stuff that hasn't appeared in an art book. Contrary to popular belief, Illustrations 1 isn't explicitly a "Concept Art" book. I've made the mistake of calling it that before, but it's simply an art book. It's just that, due to including gen 1, it inevitably included actual unused concepts. Because behind-the-scenes stuff are cool. But the point is, not everything was just a concept. If it was, it would've rotted in that book, never to appear again. But it didn't. A bunch of stuff reappeared. It first appeared in Illustrations not because it was concept art, but because it was simply... art. I assume that, since you made the typical comment about the length of my reply, you don't have much patience. So I'll help you spare your time with a warning: Don't bother reading the rest of this if you don't want to see me go on about specific contents of the Encyclopedia again. You're scope of interest seems to be outside of that. Originally unused concepts can still be reused, and they have been previously. You seem to have acknowledged this. Namielle's design is a popular example. The Encyclopedia is written from the perspective of in-universe researchers. Many things such as the wacky looking zepellin whale are sketches based on local testimonies. The frozen-saliva-armor Tigrex is also a sketch based on a Hunter's sighting of it while on a rescue mission. The sketches aren't confirmed to be 100% accurate, though a Tigrex with a bunch of frozen liquid on its face can be pretty easily explained. It's very presumptuous to assume that it was an intentional method of defense, or that it even covered anywhere EXCEPT the face. The furthest we see it go is to the back of its neck. However, the researchers got the info of the EDW from a hunter who found it in an ancient storehouse. That illustration isn't theoretical, they went there and saw it for themselves. You seem to be getting a bit heated if the sass at the beginning of your reply is to be believed, so I just wanna tell you that there's no hard feelings, I just think MH lore is incredibly intriguing. Mainly because of how disorganized it is.

It's known now in world the captured monsters goto a arena as well. Cause When you capture them you unlock arena fights with them. Those arena fights can't be done till you capture one and, on top when you finish the arena capture or not. They will not add a new repeat of it. So if you capture 1 of each monster in a region on a "rank" type you will unlock a single arena fight with that monster. And if you already did that arena fight, You just unlock it again. While that means elder dragons...cannot be captured by "you" but prob a specialist team that contains them for a period for you to slay. Hope that helps clarify the info better. Yes "Arena monsters are captured" Yes "Others are put down" And if counter argument on "their body parts are back on" You might be fighting a different one while one you over damaged on horns/cut tail are put down. And yes they experiment monsters even in "arena" fights. My guess is, monster culling is difficult in some regions. Like New World. Also guessing, Nergigante is a unique case Elder Dragon, While Magma mountain boy is just a monster they wanted to advert away cause of the new settlement. Learning it's death = A "bomb" for them. Which is pretty true. Unlike Dalamadur it's a "Molten Rock Shell" monster...it dyeing would been a catastrophe on land.

You got the Sakura method backwards - the main objective is to hunt the Brachydios, and the sub-objective to deliver 12 coal pieces is what gives a bunch of charms. Also, Deviljho never actually eats its own tail in game. Flyann made a whole video debunking the Mandela effect about that.

Canynes are classified as Fanged Beasts and bear a striking resemblence to the Wulgs from Iceborne, so it could be theorized that the ancient Kamurians domesticated Wulgs which became Canynes while the 'Kamurian' Wulgs, similarly to wolves in Japan, went extinct sometime after. Speaking of Fanged Beasts, honestly I don't consider them laying eggs to be canon to the mainline games and think its just Capcom trying to include Fanged Beasts as rideable monsters in the Stories spinoffs, and in my opinion Stories and Stories 2 shouldn't have made Fanged Beasts obtainable as Monsties and let monsters like Tetsucabra, Agnaktor, and other monsters that actually _do_ lay eggs be rideable instead. Its pretty immersion breaking to have monsters that are clearly placental mammals lay eggs. Edit: That "Iceborne is about colonialism" is so fucking stupid, its literally just the same kind of edgy "Hunters are the bad guys and the Guild is evil" shit theories that wildly misinterpret the Monster Hunter universe and how it works.
@joshuasgameplays9850 Жыл бұрын
Despite their mammalian appearance, Wulgs are not Fanged Beasts, they're actually Fanged Wyverns, and are closely related to Tobi-Kadachi and the garons. The closet living relatives of Canynes are actually Bombadgy, Goss Harag, Volvidon, Lagombi, and Arzuros. They all belong to the suborder 堅爪亜目, or Hard Claw in English.

This video is very flawed, as it talks about these topics purely from a lore and not gameplay perspective. Almost half of the list is explained wrongly due to theorizing on lore rather than actually researching the topic. The "popodrome" is just a joke that people memed in Freedom Unite. The Dual Blades thing is just mentioning how in MHG and MHF, the dual blades are part of the sword and shield tree. Deviljho does not in fact eat its own tail. Etc. The Yian Garuga/Rathian mix is canon and has been info since Freedom Unite, not a thing started in Generations.

Seeing how often Stories is mentioned makes me kinda annoyed For as long as we don't get a map update from capcom themselves I will always refuse to see the Stories games as canon games. Also how come there are so many genetic experimentation theories? Like....we know the evolutionary tree... Also damn man this video makes me believe ppl actually think that horrible MH movie is canon...even the devs distanced themselves

Something I do want to note for you, who made the video: When you mentioned that Safi'jiiva was distinctly a Red Dragon and not a Black Dragon, you're only half right on that part: "Black Dragon" isn't entirely a term for literal black dragons like Fatalis and Alatreon. Rather, the term "Black Dragon" is widely considered a title shared by a classification of monsters known as "Dangerous First-Class Monsters," a classification of which Safi'jiiva _is_ a part of. To put it in layman's terms, "Red Dragon" is Safi'jiiva's epithet or title, while "Black Dragon" is its classification or threat level. Typically, Black Dragon-class Monsters are capable of destruction on the level of mass extinctions like Fatalis, and whenever they crop up, they become the Guild's number one priority due to the borderline-wonton destruction they have the potential to cause just by their mere existence. Most normal Elder Dragons are on the level of forces of nature just by existing, with Teostra causing droughts, Kushala Daora causing thunderstorms and blizzards, and so on, however the "Black Dragon" class of Elder Dragons are akin to living, breathing extinction events. Just some food for thought. I'm not being particularly critical of the ideas presented here!
@joshuasgameplays9850 Жыл бұрын
Black Dragon is a fan term, literally all it means is that it's a monster who's title contains "Black Dragon". So Fatalis, Alatreon, and Dire Miralis are indeed the only three black dragons, as their English titles are "Black Dragon", "Blazing Black Dragon" and "Smelting Black Dragon" respectively. The rest of the DFCMs are not Black Dragons because that term in not in their English titles, Safi'jiiva's title is "Red Dragon", Disufiroa's title is "Frozen Seraphim Dragon", Merphistophelin's title is "Barren Disaster Dragon", and Elemental Merphistophelin's title is "Supreme Five-Phases Barren Disaster Dragon" because we have officially gone full anime.
@bahamutfateburn6091 Жыл бұрын
You're right that it's a fan term, and the wiki states verbatim, "Dangerous First-Class Monsters are said to be monsters with an unnatural presence about them. They are known to share the title of Black Dragon or have some relation to a Black Dragon." The wording here is a bit muddy at best and confusing at worst, and I assume it leads broadly to the conclusion in the community that DFCMs are _generally_ synonymous with the term "Black Dragon." You aren't wrong in that Miralis, Alatreon, and Fatalis are the only ones to actually have the term "Black Dragon" in their names, but most people I know of who use the term, use it as a threat category rather than an epithet for any of the _actual_ black dragons. I hazzard a guess that this is because the people who use the term as such find it less of a mouthful and more ominous and/or cool to refer to them with vague an inaccurate terminology.
@Golden_Hydra2 жыл бұрын
Y'know with the portals being canon... the Admiral made a reference to Safi'jiiva possibly having three heads and shooting lightning. Pair that with the fact that Safi does resemble Ghidorah, the reference previously mentioned, and you gotta wonder if and when the golden monster will appear in the MH world.

It’s quite embarrassing that this video talks about Equal Dragon Weapon like it’s canon. It isn’t, and if it ever was in the game, it was reskinned into something else. Perhaps into Lao, looking at its size. Either way, MH was supposed to have a very different tone, and it’s actually pretty well known that it was.
@flagro7702 жыл бұрын
A significant proportion of all of these are non-canon and ultimately pointless to even discuss. At this point you're just inventing stuff and making up bullshit around it. Apart from that the video was good and the narration was fine. It would be better if you put effort into creating videos about meaningful content.
