Found the claymore swings at just right speed to keep her stagger locked on 1h r1's if you delay your swing very slightly, but her healing when she doesnt take health off the player is kinda bs, completely removes turtling as a viable tactic.

@@grenadesblows719 I killed Orphan of Kos in two tries and took 80 tries for Malenia. 35 for Isshin, 40 for Sister Friede. Laurence the First Vicar was the hardest Bloodborne boss for me. Honestly Bloodborne is the easiest souls game I think. 90% of bosses, including Orphan, you can dodge in and hug their butt while smacking them and dodging occasionally and you'll win. You get so much healing from the rally mechanic and 20 blood vials.

i just did it without blocking anything and your tips concerning the 3x forward-right & 2x backwards dodges during the flying combo really helped me, thanks a lot. what i ended up doing for that first series of spiral flurries that you block here, is that if youre properly spaced away from her at mid-range, if you then run within a certain radius of her, she will have the spiral flurries "queued", and she will always jump in the air to signal the 'undodgeable' ones, and you should always be far enough away to then run back in the opposite direction & avoid the first series that you block in this video. you kind of just fake her out by running forwards, bait out the jump, and then immediately run away so that she whiffs the undodgeable ones. from there, you can roll through the rest by chain-rolling 3x forward to the right, and 2x backwards, as you've already demonstrated. this is all anecdotal but that's been my findings and i took zero damage from the flying combo many times in this fashion. thanks for the vid again brother and hope you continue to enjoy the game

Great video also used the fire longsword (with no sums) which worked great and by playing super aggressive you stunlock her a lot. What I noticed with by playing very aggresive in her second phase she almost never uses her blade flurry dash move. Imo though when you learn how to dodge that exact move properly she doesnt heal much at all.

It works exactly the same as phase 1 (minus the rot buildup, which isn't a big deal) so I'd handle it the same way. I took no damage from it four times in phase 1.

for the record, I don't think there's anything wrong with using summons or cheese, and I don't think there's more value in one play style over the other. the best play style is the one that lets you have the most fun. if someone feels bad about what they need to do to overcome a video game challenge, they need to do some soul searching about the reason why that is. in the same way, if playing the game in a more challenging way makes you feel better than other people or better than people who play the game differently, you need to develop some self esteem that being said, it is really cool to watch a fight where someone is contending with every aspect of the boss. watching this video is really entertaining because I get to see the full scope of the boss' abilities and I get to see the end product of all your hard work.

Great fight dude. I did sorcery my first run and this was the first fight I decided to try mimic tear on. That was a mistake because it was first try since the mimic is op. Good shit bro. I used adula's moonblade and I was able to take her out, used mimic for phase 1 and it was pure cheese. She died so quick and phase 2 began very early. Though the mimic doesn't survive long enough though. 2nd play through I'm def not gonna use the mimic now.

It’s genuinely the best strategy even if you light roll it’s a 50/50 on if you’ll not die, even then you’re almost guaranteed to take fuck tones of damage unless you haul ass to the other side of the arena the second she begins here flurry move and if you’re unlucky she’ll just keep doing it when you’re about to send her to phase 2

Basically when u think she’ll do it keep ur distance then when she does run away then she’ll go to u, dodge wait a sec then dodge her next phase wait a sec again and dodge then dodge again if necessary and u should be able to get a free hit. Once u get use to the pattern it’s not as bad. But if she starts it when ur right underneath her then yeah that’s a rip.

@@mattguxxxtt9629 that strategy works if you’ve already mid screen but if you’re close up to the boss and she chooses to use the zoom of doom you can’t get the distance off or at least i couldn’t I’d either die or get one or two hits from death so I just chose in my winning fight with Maleina to just smooth brain if and pull out a greatshield thank god she only did the attack once in phase 2 though that attack also with scarlet rot is unfiltered aids

Great job. Unpopular opinion but I really like this fight. Yeah she heals but her small health bar makes up for it and she’s very learnable moveset wise and gives a lot of room to heal (in phase 1 at least). Even the whirlwind attack isn’t horrible to deal with if you learn the block/dodge time.

The biggest problem IS when she Summons her Ghost on Phase 2 . The first 3 ghosts you dodge left ,right then right but then you nearly died almost with the last two ghosts and her last attack before landing. I never Saw anyone dodging perfectly when she does the summons.

I found out later they actually do purely physical damage, you can dodge the first two then block the rest and dodge her last thrust.

Unfortunately whenever I try to light attack her she is ALWAYS using an unpunishable super armored attack. So I've been stuck using Heavy Attacks, Counter Attacks, and critical hits. Takes me generally 12-16 minutes to get through Phase 1 and have no idea what to do during Phase 2.

You can also dodge the waterfowl attack with bloodhound's step pretty reliably. Just dodge towards her left or right side before she attacks or spam dodge to the other side of the arena and then towards her on the final attack and you should be safe. I feel the strat you did is better though, because bloodhound's step feels like cheating with the amount of s it gives.

I tried the mimic tear a few times on this fight just to see how it worked out, and it's a total crapshoot. If you're lucky, the mimic tear will dodge most of her attacks while giving you opportunities to hit her from behind. Otherwise, it basically just tanks her attacks for you, which doesn't get you anywhere, since she just heals.

Favorite fight of her on KZbin. The thing is with all Fromsoft games, is when you want to watch the fight you often run into videos of some insane "NO DAMAGE PERFECT FIGHT" and... It's just not the same. I want to see the fight as it actually was to play. Like, a realistic version of the fight. Then with Malenia, she's so fuckin hard a lot of the videos are people using mimic tear or summons on the second phase and making her look like a pushover. Also, not sure why parrying is being grouped in with the "cheesy strats" in these comments. It helps, but you've got to learn it and you need to do it 3 damn times before you can even get a riposte.

Phase 2 is very similar to the first, once you get the first down you won't need to learn a whole new moveset unlike with Malekith

But of course the player is not weaker, it's actually way stronger for all the reasons you mentioned. Maleina or Orphan of Kos which is harder?

I killed Orphan of Kos in two tries and took 80 tries for Malenia. 35 for Isshin, 40 for Sister Friede. Laurence the First Vicar was the hardest Bloodborne boss for me. Honestly Bloodborne is the easiest souls game I think. 90% of bosses, including Orphan, you can dodge in and hug their butt while smacking them and dodging occasionally and you'll win. You get so much healing from the rally mechanic and 20 blood vials.
