Hey all, With Unalloyed Malenia defeated I think it's time I announce my end to soloing Malenia when the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC comes out. It felt like only days ago when I first started helping out other people with fighting this boss and still crazy to see where I ended up now. It's fair to say I had my fill of fighting her for this lifetime lol. I might seldom help others with Malenia from time to time but officially will be done taking requests/doing it consistently so I'm sorry to those who were excited to see me in action. But I'm so excited for the DLC and what Messmer the Impaler will be like given the precedent of FromSoft's DLC bosses (Friede/Gael). I hope to see you guys in the DLC soon! -Let me solo her

I think it's hard to make a elden ring boss so hard that no gamer beats it for a few months. Meanwhile in hollow knight mod anyrad wasnt beaten for months. Then I think that anyrad version 2 was also unbeaten for 2 years. And anyrad version 3 maybe still hasn't been beaten (not counting tas wins where the Computer plays the game)

This is the most insane, cinematic boss fight I’ve seen in Elden Ring. Hats off to whoever modded her moves and all that because every new thing I noticed made the fight more appealing. Like Yes this is how strong she could be, not “oh i got hit, wish I had poise.” Leaving the scarlet aeonia as arena traps is insane because now it means you have a timer to kill her so she doesnt spam the whole arena with it(if she doesnt have infinite casts), the butterfly clones are more realized into her moveset, and her blade glows holy in phase 1. This is so sick, and Let Me Solo Her is the perfect actor for this story to play out with. Very cool video, see you in the shadow lands :)

What I love so much about how this modder changed her is that she isn't just stronger or more aggressive - she certainly is both - but her attacks feel thematically appropriate for her, especially in her second phase. That was a horrifying fight against the goddess of rot! But even so, she still seems to fight tactically, her rot powers often being a cover for her still preferred sword fighting strikes. Well done to the modder and well down to LetMeSoloHer for showcasing this fight. Absolutely superb.

It definitely fits her more thematically. Hinting that the rot bloom was like that for the Caelid inhabitants. A thick, impenetrable fog that killed you little by little, wilting the once green paramounts into landscapes of grotesque malformations. It sells why Malenia blooming a third time is so feared. Getting across that it's not just death you witness, but true, unalloyed horror.

I finally beat Malenia yesterday solo after 571 tries. You have my full respect for the amount of work you’ve done to get to this point. Build was a +25 Flamberge with Bloodflame Flame. Level 126. Whole fight lasted 6 minutes, I think. To me, harder than Gael, Friede and Midir. And probably killed me more than those 3 combined. You are so damn awesome for doing Unalloyed Malenia and helping so many. Cheers!

Honestly, the mechanic where if blood loss occurs on Malenia (Goddess of Rot), she will cause scarlet rot buildup is genius! Not only does it add an additional level of difficulty, it punishes going full blood loss build on her, without outright making it impossible to capitalise on. I am honestly surprised it's not in the main game, because after seeing the boss the mechanic makes perfect sense.

Even though this is a mod, I really hope FromSoftware doesn't eventually reach this level of difficulty with enemies. I've noticed that Elden Ring is starting to reach that tipping point where bosses are purposely having RNG and delays appended to their movesets and patterns to further increase difficulty. What I fear is that one day, the next From game will have difficulty like this normalized, when this is clearly a boss inflated to have grossly challenging patterns. Though I love how FromSoftware incorporates spectacle into their games, I think they should take a step back from focusing purely on maintaining difficulty, and instead honing on making fun yet strong bosses.

I had to rewatch it several time... Those dodges such as 1:19 are amazing, every move in DS/ER is always "over the top", but this is perfect representation of high level swordsmanship, being efficient in your moves rather than unnecessary wasteful for the show (although she should've countered immediately)
