The carian sorcery sword got its spell scaling increased by ~77%, but It's still only on par with the demihuman staff and is only useful for low intelligence levels. Its actual damage of the weapon itself was only increased by ~5%. Bloodfiends arm got ~13% decrease in bleed build up on the heavy. It's not a big deal and will still bleed quite quickly. The fireknights greatsword can no longer combos light attack into light attack. This was specifically a pvp change to keep players from doing ~1400 damage off a light hit. Smithscript weapons were double-dipping in damage scaling when using them on the split scaling affinities (flame art, magic, cold, and sacred). For example: my cold smithscripit axe before the patch was doing 220+184 on both physical and magic, and now it does 220+145 physical and 186+36 magical. You also completely skipped a few changes: The Gazing finger now properly has faith scaling. Before this point faith would not increase the damage of the weapon despite it having scaling. Swift Slash now does less damage. Its speed and range in pvp is still busted and should be looked at. You can no longer apply right-hand weapon buffs to the Discus Hurl and Feeble Lord Frenzied Flame ashes of war. (You could use royal knight resolve on the right-hand weapon and that damage would apply to those ashes without properly removing the buff after a hit like it should.) Lastly, I would like to say I understand why you want to get these videos out, but the game is literally right there and these fixes are already in place. Time could have been taken to test the values to offer a better understanding of these notes. As of now, this is literally just someone reading off patch notes that have been known to have had completely wrong info in them before due to translation issues in the past. I would vastly prefer this channel taking the time to test values instead of saying info that could be totally misleading without context.

It's not really designed to be great even without the bug, just an average jack of trades type weapon for you to do bits of everything and a rapier at that. It's an improvement but not going to change anyone's mind.

If its now viable, i think it would pair cool with the new parry dagger, that has powerstancing with poke swords. With that, you would have parry, sorcering and powerstance at same time

I just had to ask Bandai Namco to look into this, but since the recent changes I couldn't riposte some of the enemies I could parry. When I parried the cat-faces imps, I got within the crit. box, tried to from each angle; could not riposte them.

Seems fine to me after I rebuilt my ps5 data base, loads/runs very well now, no more frame stuttering or poor loading times. (Try a quick google search for detailed instructions, fairly quick and rewarding process.)

Why are there no paired daggers, that’s what I wanted, he sees, and also to improve the bear’s cry, give him stability during the cry and so that he could put buffs on himself, such as protection and hyperarmor. And, of course, refining the final boss.

I kept using the Perfume Bottles with Rolling Spark Ash of War after the patch to see if it is still playable. In terms of PvE, the Ash of War is still useful in boss fights, particularly with big bosses. However, never aim to the ground because now the Ash of War go through the floor, thus not permitting the stacked damage. The normal attacks are unchanged so they're good for inflicting elemental damage to a single or group of enemies, problem is they don't cause much poise damage so some enemies will still attack you while spreading the attack. Can't say much about PvP as I haven't tested it yet, but like I said it's good for big boss fights.

Sounds like they're working as intended then. I doubt From ever wanted them to be a build's main DPS, but they should be useful as something to add on top of a setup for more elemental damage or status buildup. Good change.

Radahn would not have taken as long for me if Thiollier and Ansbach were genuinely terrible summons hopefully this patch fixes that for other people

Euporia’s Ash of War is cool, but it needs to be changed a bit. The amount of hits to get the buff and then the next tier should is fine, but the should not expire. It’s not realistic if you’re fighting a boss attempting to hit level 2 of the buff.

I'm in New Games Plus 12. Does this increase the damage enemies do to me or does it reduce the damage I do to them in the DLC? Because bosses and monsters kill me in one or two hits

Do you think you can make a build with the Pata? I think it's a pretty awesome weapon, but I don't really have an optimized build for it. Also, if anyone is interested, some really cool fashion with the Pata I like to use is the malekith set with the oathkeeper knight helm and black knight gauntlets to get to 51 poise.

The Smithscript scaling fix was for int and fth iirc because they were adding way more damage to physical than I'm assuming they expected. That said not running a build that relied on either (arc), they seem the same and in the case of the Cirque and dagger, better. Also the shield my not take buffs anymore but the fp cost is the same and it's still a great side arm. They need to take a look at some of those spells and incants because whew, some are just plain bad.

Perfume Bottles need a complete rework, IMO. I get the rolling sparks ash was super broken, but it was literally the only thing that made the weapon worth using at all. I think it's by far the worst weapon type in the game.

I disagree, they still have incridible range, they still are really easy to buff, the running attack is really good, they still do really good stance damage, i think they will remain usable and capable, even with the nerf

Do you if the DLC have its own NG+ scaling? I see that I at NG+1 and my friend at over +7NG gets the same souls as me? Its both our first DLC playthoughs. Just seems weird that DLC bosses give me less runes than NG+ 1 margitt

Bloodfiend´s nerf is basically nothing, maybe a 10% bleed reduction. You will still insta proc bleed on a high arcane bleed build with a blood infusion. Resistant bosses take 2 of them.

Al smith script weapons had weird scaling when set to specifically magic and holy affinities. Since they have innate scaling in int and fai affinity was just adding scaling in those stats and did not reduce scaling in others. It has been fixed to follow rest of the weapons.

@@Fextralife i was griping from day 1 that he should work like Putrescent Knight does and lo and behold apparently enough of the community agreed that they changed it lol. Golden Hippo’s start position was also changed to be consistent on re-fights as well, though I admit if he started anywhere different after the first time, I definitely didn’t notice. Fought him pre patch, took a few tries, he wasn’t nearly as heinous as Gaius.

I experienced very little stuttering on my old i7 4790 with an nVidia 1070 running Linux. That's kinda dated stuff (and the OS does not have a native game client). Prehaps I got lucky? Performance was excellent, considering. I'm sure the Fextralife team's PCs all whaolp mine.

I was using the madness perfume bottles, and yes, it’s bad aiming at the floor, but I was still getting excellent results when using the ash of war in a line, and that was only on soldiers, so I’m pretty sure it’ll hit even better on large targets that take all the explosions

Well most exploits are due to the game reading data incorrectly due to unforeseen actions. Basically players push the game to get a broken build as the game struggles to understand the math behind the build when dealing damage as it all happens in milliseconds so data can be read wrong when performing certain actions that the game/ devs didn’t foresee.

As Ealdor mentioned, certain coding gets changed or affected differently upon release to the community, if it were tested in beta beforehand, they could do something about it prior to release. Having said this, Elden Ring had lots of glitches, OP gear, etc upon release, even after beta testing. Let the community iron it out, just don’t rage when someone/thing one shots/glitches you to death.. laugh, save the video and make a bug report to Bandai.

Inb4 “skill issue” comments but Radahns Double Slash in front needs a bit of a tracking nerf. I tried every way to dodge it, roll back, roll forward, roll to the side, bloodhound step, you either dodge the first and still get hit by the second, or you get hit by the first and barely dodge the second. I have dodged it entirely only by spamming bloodhound step into the attack and trying to get behind him, and it is possible, but the speed at which it comes out is downright unfair for the damage and tracking it offers. Even malenias multi hit combo could be dodged by rolling into it, this move offers no counter play.

They really need to patch the lightning explosion on meteoric ore greatsword. Its a big lightning blast but it only hits if youre on level ground and has 0 AoE. The hit box on the explosion just seems like a mistake.

Indeed, shield poke seems to be the only cheese left right now. Cranking Arcane and poison+rot works well in phase one where you can actually tell what's happening, I wasn't able to survive phase two long enough to re-apply, though... with scoobydoo blessing 20... and the heaviest armor I could find... and three big damage negation talismans... won't give me enough time to buff with incants... such a fun boss, innit?

Yep, I went and finished the main game the other night before this patch dropped, and i absolutely steamrolled all of them. Honestly, though, it was the fastest fire giant kill I've ever had. I sent him to phase 2 in 2 casts of the aow, and he died with just 4 casts.

Not really, because you cheesed him with a broken weapon so you can’t even really say you beat him as a proud souls fan. To each their own, if you wanna use exploits then go ahead, but the main appeal of this game is triumphing over difficult enemies. A friend of mine uses the guts styled greatsword, and what I mentioned above, he dies 5-30x to each of the new DLC bosses, raging & swearing like a Fortnite child, all whilst I’m killing those same bosses in under 3 tries, simply because I play the game without limiting myself. (I love Blasphemous blade and incantations.) But he says I’m cheating with this method 😂 So as you said, to each their own.. but I could care less how I killed a boss, so long as I didn’t waste hours raging. 😅

Swift Slash got nerfed, it doesn't hit as much and the area of effect is smaller

Im no hardcore gamer and I finished it before all these patches. I hear alot of whinging about the difficulty. Disappointing seeing the developers slowly making the game easier when this is simply how these games are made and why they are so good.

You didn't listen to anything did you? They nerfed one of the most broken player tools and a whole class of weapons. No bosses/enemies except hippo got bug fixed that we see. You seem to just want to be mad and push that feeling you have whether wrong or right.
