@@Jaden-Ring This dlc shows that Miquella also had his own plan to ascend to godhood and he wanted Radahn's hand for marriage to start a new age. Radahn said no and Miquella wanted to shed the body to escape the curse. Miquella also sent Malenia since he may have taken it as an insult. Radahn may have said no because of the eternal childhood curse or just no in general since Consort means the spouse of the ruler. But it seems like he has tricked Mohg into impregnating him, charmed him inside the cocoon and then used Mohg's corpse to create Radahn. So the cocoon is now being used to give birth to Radahn who he then intends to have children with. Malenia could have been the consort if she could. But scarlet rot prevents that most likely and Radahn was also nuked by it. Miquella basically went fuck all that I'm going to create/give birth to my fancy prince myself. This way Miquella gets to possess Radahn (he appears that way; on top of Radahn holding him), have him by his side, have Radahn's children to establish a new dynasty and usher an age of compassion.

The lore actually makes radahn and malenia more tragic. Radahns half siblings had him and his territory decimated by rot only for him to be forced into being miquella's lord. Malenia is then abandoned while miquella takes his prize in the shadow lands. He's like marika and ranni using whomever they must for their ends. If miquella became the ruling god, he'd probably be very similar to marika except he'd have an easier time conquering people with bewitching and manipulation.

kinda undecided. If Mohg was bewitched by Miquella into impregnating him, then yes Mohg is innocent. However, if it was just Miquella intending to be found and Mohg saw a chance to impregnate a sleeping Miquella (which Miquella wants him to do), then not so much. Because Mohg intention is still impregnation without consent but it was him who got bewitched at the end. Mohg then becomes a basis/foundation to create Radahn either way who Miquella intends to have children with. I think with his charm, Miquella definitely tricked Mohg. But it's also possible that Miquella knew about Mohg's intention (Mohg is born of omen aka traditional sex which is looked down upon because of Golden Order fundamentalism and he wants to bring back the good old seggs by doing seggs to usher a new age) so Miquella never needed to trick him in the first place and simply intended to be found. But Malenia says he was the most fearsome empyrean so I'm more leaning on the former possibility.

I don't get why everyone wanted more Godwyn, I don't particularly remember Miquella and Godwyn having anything to do with each other, other than being siblings and the golden child. Besides! Godwyn is perma dead! He was killed by a fragment from Destined Death, the one thing that can permanently kill anything. Besides that, Godwyn fate is to be a being of death. As for Radahn, it makes more sense. We know they had a history even before the DLC, cause Maleina fought him and did battle with him. For reasons we thought were just for his Ruin, but in reality Miquella wanted him. And who wouldn't! Radahn was the most respectful and humble one there was, he fought and study gravitational arts for his horse, he at some point had a pet cat, took after his stepfather, fought for his closest siblings and fought to protect his own soldiers. Out of everyone, it makes sense why one would pick Radahn. He's similar to Godfrey, yet another powerful yet humble being.

I really don't like how Miquella was handled in the DLC. The whole teasers built up towards him being an active character, you would expect a questline for him like Ranni, but no, he gets 2 minutes of cutscenes and a fight that's hard for all the bad reasons (shitton of damage and a lot of health). I dont mind Radahn here, its cool and all, but Miquella is such a let down story wise. Fromsoft could have made that questline AND this fight too, by giving you a choice at the end to either side with him or not (like with Gherman), or if you have the frenzied flame on you to either have him cure it or not. I don't hate the bosses of the DLC, most of them are great, Radahn is just one boss I can't get behind yet, but I am willing to say it's partially because I'm biased towards the ending and lack of experience with the boss so far, but I highly doubt I will ever like the direction of the story.

I kinda half-expected for Miquella to be painted a bit grey because in a grim worldbuilding like Elden Ring a character like him seemed way too good to be true, like there has to be a catch. Given his ability to compel loyalty and how he was called the most fearsome Empyrean, it has hinted a darker side to him from a while. It’s been days since 21 June release. I think my thoughts are solid. At the end of the day, Fromsoft is 10/10… because they give us save experiences that us fans love. The highlight of this DLC is Radahn/Miquella and Bayle. Basically Gael and Midir. Which are basically Ludwig and Laurence. Which are basically Artorias and Kalameet. Ok I’m stretching it out a bit. But seriously, Radahn Prime Phase 2 is basically a less cool Gael, the bless lasers are basically a new form of Gael’s Cape Dark Soul. And while I think many of us can see the similarities between Bayle and Midir… Bayle’s design somehow strikes me more as a re-design of the Demon’s Souls Dragon God and I find that SO COOL! I’m happy we got this. But do laugh that the highlights are the same as always for me. A knight and a dragon.

All the other consorts candidates we know of - a Tarnished, Godfrey, Radagon, Mohg, etc - have been (relatively) normal people, not soulless monstrosities.

Essentially Miquella wanted Radahn to be his consort after they made a little friendly deal way back when, and Radahn basically said "Sure, once you get all that set up, I'll join you." But for Radahn to be his lord in this plan, he would need him to die so that he can bring his soul to the shadowlands, but Radahn being the type of person he was, refused to die unless it was by a warrior's death. So Miquella had Malenia go and fight him to finally win him over through combat, but Malenia ended up losing the battle. Queue cinematic of malenia using her rot to nuke the entirety of caelid, whisper in Radahn's ear that Miquella is waiting, aaaaand He still didn't die. Radahn, being the gigachad he is, still held himself together through the rot, which basically completely ruined his plans completely. Now that Radahn is festered by rot, miquella would need to put his soul into a different body once he finally gets his hands on radahn Enter Mohg, after we kill mohg, miquella apparently sneakily steals his corpse, and then puts Radahn's soul into Mohg body. By the time we get to Miquella, Radahn most likely had just finally accepted being Miquella's consort and now he's a god and all that jazz

A Promised Consort without the Promised Multiple Endings. Just why. WHY. WOULD YOU MAKE A CULT. ABOUT RESURRECTING YOUR BROTHER. JUST TO LEAVE HIM DEAD, FOR ANOTHER? WHY MAUSOLEUMS? WHY ECLIPSE? WHY EVERYTHING THAT WE'VE HAD ABOUT THEM BEING CLOSE? All to be forgotten in favour of a random repeated boss with a repeated second-phase, oh, my stars... Worst dlc? Def not. But definitely, most definitely, the most letdown of a dlc.

This hurts me so much to say, but i didn't like the ending and the final boss at all, the dlc is perfect, but why Radahn? And the reason why Malenia nuked Caelid and Radahn was because Miquella was rejected by him??? Really? Im sorry i fucking love fromsoftware, the dlc is perfect, but the ending is bullshit on a lore perspective, the ost and artistic side is amazing, but the lore...What happened with the eclipse, what happened with Godwyn, why dont we have more contact with Miquella through the dlc like with Ranni on the base game? He is only at the end and says 2 phrases...

why would that be bullshit? Gods are often known to have huge ego despite their "wisdom". Miquella wanted Radahn's hand for marriage since he was probably fascinated by him. Also Radahn was the best candidate among all the other demigods. Its very possible that he did not take the rejection lightly. He then sends Malenia who tries to kill him by force but it doesn't work. At the same time Miquella charms Mohg into kidnapping him who he then can use to create/give birth to Radahn. Miquella then intends to marry Radahn and have children with to start his own age.

So I'm going to assume we did not do the St. Trina questline in the dlc. Talks not only quite a lot about Miquella, but also why Miquella is not only a threat, but needs to be put down for his own sake It actually helps so much

I'm with you man, i love the first phase, and like a stand alone fight this could be a gorgeous encounter, but i hate when in fiction the characters come back to life, i know in this case it's justified somehow but, for the final BOSS this is so meh , second phase sucks

In the quest to make a better age that has no influence of outer gods in the way, he stripped himself of his flesh, his emotions, and his humanity in the form of st. trina, the half of him he discarded. He wanted to get to his goal so bad that he wanted Radahn killed and brought back to be his Lord. He was someone who had good ambitions, but he wanted to reach his goal so bad that he was willing to sacrifice everything to get there, it's quite sad.

The best part of the DLC by far is how it humanizes Marika and makes us understand how both of them had ostensibly good ambitions but those are seemingly always corrupted, be it by outside influences or simply the corruptive nature of power itself. I just don't feel like this is the best or most compelling way to present that narrative, and can't help but feel like they moreso ran out of time and had to make concessions and cuts, as From so often does.
