【Elden Ring】 Rellana, the Way of Spell Counter

tried to do a sorcerer run as cool as possible, trying to showcase spellblade gameplay at a high level
spell deflect:
eternal darkness (absorbs projectiles that come into close radius)
thops's barrier (deflects spells)
carian retaliation (nullifies spells and turns them into glintblades)
ranni's dark moon (nullifies spells that come into contact)
spell dodge:
miriam's vanishing (multi-directional blink with i-frame)
rellana's twin moons (longest time you can stay above ground, also nullifies spells that come into contact)

@inisen That's incorrect. You can roll through both if you correctly time the first one by rolling a bit earlier than you'd expect.

@@Legendary_Honey Doesn't even need all that precise timing, from my experience. Wave travels relatively slow so it's easy to dodge on reaction, and so long as you got past the first one you can spam roll through the next three. Just gotta wait and react roll the last one again.

Taking sorcery up a notch. I'm hoping the "Spellbound" or whatever it was is true. It was a leaked name like previous games and had some details, but obviously, it's a magic focused game, apparently. Hopefully, the leak is true, and they are working on it at some point because it would be awesome.

Bravo! All skill my dude! I do agree. So many players call spells/incantations “cringe” but they consistently suck at the game. What they don’t realize is that spells/incantations are half of the combat system enable more options and build diversity. There was nothing cringe about you clip and I find your build to be cool. Sword is better until 40 int at which point, academy, Lusat and Azur, and Regal scepter get stronger

it is bad if you compare to staffs, if you don't really want to melee attack just use a proper staff if you want higher damage; for riposte if you parry like here, you can just swap but the sorcery sword is cool and also you can melee attack without swapping, if you want to sometimes cast sorceries but also want to melee attack often it is a good weapon it used to be terrible, it is good damage right now imo; probably best way to play it is 40 dex, 40 int with radagon's icon (beloved stardust increases damage taken a lot, and if you have 40 dex radagon's icon and beloved stardust are the exact same cast speed, dex increases cast speed) if you want to go very high int, you would do quite a bit more damage with a proper staff

equipment: Carian Sorcery Sword +25 Buckler with Carian Retaliation Ash of War my stats (with what would be better to play): vigor 40 (60) mind 43 (35) endurance 35 (27) strength 10 dexterity 19 (40, dex increases casting speed) intelligence 72 (40) faith 10 arcane 10 left is RL 160, right is 153; just put more points into intelligence and mind if you got the points to spare (wouldn't put more than 80 on intelligence, also no point to go above 40 dex) talismans: blade of mercy (if you parry) / gravenmass talisman (slight increase for spells) / primal glintstone blade (decrease hp but also decreases mana cost of spells) radagon icon magic scorpion charm dragoncrest greatshield talisman

You can literally finish the game just using the first spell of the prisoner build. Glintblade stone or smtg like that. You also have like 20 inteligence strong weapons like rannis greatsword and others. A mage can cheese the game easyyyy like is not even a challange. Mages have always been op in pve and will always be

this mechanics are awsome, i think i became too dumbly focus into melee playstyle to use magic, my actual int build is just keen estoc with scholar armement, (+ loretta bow spell for anoying ennemies like malformed stars), and that's it. 80 dex 80 int just to use 10% of my brain i guess xD.
