Im here to highly recommend daggers in current patch, especially erdsteel and fireknights shortsword, they deal just stupid amounts of burst damage with their r2, and can be subjected to crazy buff stacking with multi hit, elemental, and twohand/gaurdcounter depending. work amazing both 2 handed and with a shield. That and no one expects to get 2-3 shot by a dagger, witch makes for some amusing encounters.

Fire Knight's Shortsword my beloved, on a dedicated faith build I was able to eclipse 2600 AR per dagger (powerstanced) which is just a number that should NOT be on a dagger.

Combos like that are one of the reasons it was so damn unacceptable that it took them until the DLC to add ONE SINGLE multi-catalyst, especially considering they added _multiple_ spell archetypes which are split Int/Fth. Like, sure, you can just dual-wield different catalysts, but it's not the same.

That Flame Peak invasion is one the better examples in recent memory of Chase’s absurd problem solving skills in these invasions. Those dudes were ganking HARD, so seeing Chase figure out how best to navigate them and split them up was pretty cool. It’s so hard to keep a level head in 3v1s, especially when they’re spreading out to attack you from different directions and are as aggressive as these guys were. Shit’s tough as hell, so I’ve got a lot of respect for Chase to be able to navigate these things so easily and with a smile

love how even as a wizard, you still run into melee and just blow yourself up without fear while also constantly mixing up what spells your using to overwhelm the enemy and not just spamming one spell from as safe a place as possible. staff of the great beyond has done wonders for int/faith builds and the mix-up potential

The 2 main builds I've been meaning to try are 60/38/25/10/40/52/45/9 and 60/35/33/10/40/80/12/9 both being 200 on Astro: the former has access to a ton of spell combinations depending on which seal buff you want on your off-hand and also has Thio's hidden needle, the latter is based around Carian sorceries the most notable being Adula's Moonblade as it get's 15% for each Carian Glintstone Staff on top of it also being a Cold sorcery which means it gets another 10% for the Snow Witch Hat. Essentially you get access to buffed Carian spells like Slicer, Piercer, Moonblade, Magic Downpour, Glintblade/Trio while also further buffing Moonblade and space tools like Zamor Ice Storm(Zamor is also apparently buffed by the Enraged Divine Beast Talisman which is pretty nice). The core spells only take 4 slots(slicer, piercer, moonblade, ZIS) so you have plenty of space to fit Star Shower, Gavel, Regression, Causality, Bestial Vitality, FCM, Lord's Aid, etc. depending on what you want

charge grav missile into charged microcosm is my go to spells. I usually begin it with a frozen mist and end it with the ghostflame explosion. Nice build

Megu-min-max I like to slot my spells with something to harass and seperate a team first. Then a launcher or knockdown spell once a target has been separated. AoE as a wake up. So things like charged Carian Piercer or Crucible Horns into Zamor Ice storm or Relanna’s Moons. So: Pester > Launcher > Finisher Pester > Launcher > Finisher Pester > Launcher > Finisher That way you can use fit two or three variations across the slots for mixups. Also multi part spells with optional follow ups can often quick cast a spell swap effectively. Dragonclaw > Ice Lightning is a favourite for the knockdown and roll catch potential. I also have up on the d-pad remapped to O so I can scroll through them fast and use the ‘up’ pouch slot by using triangle + O as the hotkey. Useful. Enjoy the filthy wizarding, and I still wanna see the Carian Sorcery Sword. Catch ya next time!
