Such a beautiful home so exquisite for its day and it still is. Some of us are still a bit old school. This was a couple who took pride in their decor and lived well. I'm so glad the lady of the home's skills has been documented for all to see a job well done on your part. I grew up around this style as well. The homeowners remained well satisfied by their decor that's wonderful. Kept it most likely as his beloved wife wanted it. Always makes me sad to see such things abandoned but I continue to remind myself of a beautiful couple's life that was enjoyed here well into an old age. I love your videos that show all the contents of these homes not that I don't appreciate architecture because I do but this home is wayyyy over the top! Keep up the good work! I forgot to mention the retro tile is awesome!

My favorite part about these videos is seeing the lovely ladies dressing table/vanity and such. I look out for the distinct hair brushes that women used to use. The boar bristle/nylon. Those brushes are what I use and am very passionate about them. It reminds me of how much I enjoy being a woman. The simple pleasures of sitting at my vanity, putting on some makeup and perfume and brushing my hair. It makes me feel connected to them in a special way and makes me feel abit melancholy for how her vanity items are waiting to be used. What a beautiful woman from her portraits. ❤

As you were walking through, because of how unique this place is, like a time capsule, I thought it would be awesome, if someone actually bought the place, and made it into an Air Bud or a museum leaving everything exactly the way it is now. Cleaning it up of course, making sure it's safe, such as the floors, walls. But could you imagine how amazing it would be for somebody to use this as an Air Bud, just spend their time out in the country and to have the opportunity to walk through looking at all the unique artifacts, artwork and figurines. Essentially going back in time. I just recently watched a gentleman who rented a lighthouse as an Air Bud, and was able to walk around and look at the way it had been when it was still a lighthouse. That's why when I saw this I thought what a wonderful opportunity to fix this place up and give people a unique experience to go back in time. Or even as a museum.

I like peeking in cabinet, closets etc. I like to see dates on items, gives an idea when they were last in use. But I like the furnished places too, a glimpse too the past, you can kinda feel the presence of love that used to live there. Brings back my own memories of growing up in the 70s and going to grandparents. It’s a peaceful, calming effect. It’s weird to get a vibe like that just from a video, perhaps it’s the care and respect you have. Thank you for that!

Just like the lady, the former owner of the house, we, too, will leave everything here on earth. The things we now consider indispensable, the dear objects, will all be abandoned after our departure. Just like the lady. We actually fight for material things, considering that we are immortal and death comes to others, not to us. And so we invest in objects, not in the spiritual part. A lesson in this video. Your clothes, your books, your couch, etc. will all be trashed one day. Live the day, the moment and enjoy your loved ones.

I believe that since the food was all removed that a relative cleaned it out and planed to come back. It is hard to deal with the grief and memories of the house. We had to deal with my the death of my brother. We removed all food. He left everything to his stepchildren but they wanted nothing in his house and allowed us to go in and retrieve family photos and personal property. One week after deed was transferred they listed and sold his house.

There is something to learn from here. You take nothing with you, and the pursuit of material things robs you of your life time. They all get left behind, even if you've dedicated your life to collecting them. Isn't happiness emanated strictly from the soul and heart, unrelated to the material part? I met simple people who only had the bare necessities and were quiet and happy. And I knew people with big houses and a lot of money, who were very agitated and anxious that they might lose all their wealth. And in the end, wealth stays here. The head of Amazon, Microsoft, etc. will also leave it here on earth. Be happy with what you have and enjoy every moment. Time is the greatest asset

It’ll probably need updated electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and a new roof (standard updates for older homes), but if someone could get it for a good price and be willing to put in a lot of work and roll the dice on what else might be wrong with it then it could be a wonderful home for someone. *** repair wild cards would be rot, termites, damage from leaks, leveling, yard drainage, tree work (expensive!), fireplace repair and possible leaks around the chimney, and floor refinishing or replacement.

The nicest thing would be if a young couple bought this house with all the contents. A couple who appreciates the character and taste that was so lovingly put into this home for so many years. I’ve seen a newish trend with something called Grandma Chic. I’ve also started to see more beautiful and timeless decorating using color drenching and carefully curated vignettes. Some of these young women content creators are amazingly talented and really have a gift for decorating. It would be great to see what someone like that could do with this house.

Makes me wonder when I see these what is wrong with the family? Setting on a property till it collapses means it is worth nothing. No one wants any of their stuff? At least it is not trashed like alot of them by vandals. Otherwise it is a waste by the family or whoever.
@evil1st8 күн бұрын
Typically when there is nobody left that wants or inherets the property, and the property taxes arent paid it either goes to the insurance company or it becomes an escheat property and given to the state. I would say 90% of the time property is escheated and when home/house property is owned by the state it typically sits abandoned for forever until a relative is found and wants to take it or the state finally auctions it off, which itself is rare but typically means the original housing is demolished sadly. If nobody whos related to this late couple comes forward or outright doesnt want any of the possessions this house will sit abandoned until the state contracts a company to bulldoze the entire thing and sell the land. It will be a while though. Probably another 20+ years.
@DiegoGene-fh3zp7 күн бұрын

IMO they loved the company of one another above the company of others. Nature was one of the main topics of conversation, along with the literary selections they shared. They also loved the finer things like their crystal and china. They loved beauty they found in nature as evidenced by the numerous bird and floral artwork they displayed. I would say they had a common interest in beauty with their preference for growing roses. Their lives probably revolved more around one another, thus the close time between their deaths.
