Does salvation require baptism with water?
@christistocome66322 жыл бұрын
@@ChristianJune32002 baptism is confession of your faith before witnesses who witness you that you have buried with Christ and rose from the dead and receive Holy Spirit . But if you look in more deeply , it is not the important thing to get saved but we do it as a command from our savior because in some instances like their fin the cross , he didn’t baptise but just believed ,, but i would say baptise as a testament to others , if you confess before men He will confess you before his Father and it can go both ways because their is to realities 1. Physical baptism 2 spiritual baptism I can go way deep on this but I would say , you should baptise .

@@christistocome6632 “And be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ unto the remission of sins” (Acts 2:38). Acts 2:38 shows that salvation requires baptism with water. The Penitent Thief’s salvation was before new testament salvation began. Therefore his salvation didn’t require baptism with water.

Thank you for making the statement that there is nowhere in the NT where there is an example of a single elder/pastor over a congregation. Finally, someone saying this biblical truth! I am wondering how this truth goes over in your circles, brother, considering our current church model/structure is based on a single "senior pastor" and his wife usually calling all of the shots, even with an elder board.

I take what you mean. But, yes there is. I lay down my life for the sheep. And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd (Grk: εἷς ποιμήν; one pastor. Same word). JN10 Each and every assembly of believers who congregate together in Christ's name, DO have a single pastor amongst them. This is in fact WHY there is never to be designated, as you mean to say, any single shepherd over assemblies of the sheep. That is, none but that one shepherd: pastor Jesus. Matt18 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. Matt28 ...and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen.

Thank you Pastor Piper for this excellent teaching, on the order of leadership in the church. Amazing that it took 10 years to get your church to accept that deacons are not teachers, or overseers.

I’ve looked throughout your videos and was wondering if you have a video of “how” to break down scripture like you do in “Look at the Book?” What is your process? I follow along with you but would love the ability to start practicing this myself. Love your videos so much. They help immensely. Much love and prayers to you ❤. God bless ❤

I have been involved in Look at the Book for going on two years now almost on a daily basis. I have learned how to read well and study well my Bible through watching these videos. If you would like to learn how Pastor John breaks down scripture as he does, I highly recommend that you view an entire series in LAB such as this one, or Ephesians or Philippians. Those are the three available now. You can get the entire series for these at his website or go to my channel. I have the Ephesian LAB playlist and this series. As you go through one LAB, say Ephesians for example, from beginning to end, you will learn how to read well and study well your Bible as he does. It is absolutely amazing. I was never taught how to read well and study well my Bible before these LABS.

I was waiting to see how you land on 1Ti 5:17 where it distinguishes elders who labour in preaching and teaching. I conclude there are elders who rule/oversee the flock but who do not preach and teach. But then why does 1Tim 3 say they should be able to teach?

Deacons should never preach/teach.... excuse me? Stephen preached (Acts 7 whole chapter) Philip preached (Acts 8). Sounds like you're picking and choosing rather than exegesis.
@pheelium7 ай бұрын
That's not what he said. He said at 2 points that deacons are not required to teach, and that they are not required to rule. Basically, it's not their primary role. You're right that Stephen and Philip both preached, but that's not why they were first called to be deacons. Furthermore, Philip also held the role of evangelist, not just deacon.
