I have seen so many videos on Action mapping but this is the best one so far. its a complete package including the theory as well as the practical example of it. hands down the best video on this topic. Great job Tim.

I am my own 'stakeholder' in a technique I have developed over 40 years and I have been wrestling with the structure of a blended programme to teach it for literally years. I recently subscribed to your channel after watching your presentation on Techsmith and out of the blue KZbin presented me with this today. I watched it and the scales fell from my eyes. One free subscription to Miro and an action and outcome focused mind map later has enabled me to make more progress in the past couple of hours than in the past two years. Thank you.

Thank you Tim, watching this video and combining the information you shared with reading both your book and Cathy Moore's I feel more confident now to create my action map.

Awesome video, and I’ve seen many on action mapping! This is one of the best because you take us beyond “what” and “why” to the “how.” Kudos!

Thanks, Clea! Yeah…there’s so much out there on action mapping, but there aren’t a whole lot of real-world examples…so that’s what I was trying to offer here. I’m glad you liked it!

Using a 'Systems Approach to Training' (SAD, ADDIE) incorporates the discovery of Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes (KSA) relating to Tasks (what people do) in the Analysis phase. The more I look at ID, and the craving for 'lean' or 'quicker' solutions, the more I see how the two approaches differ. I have the Action Mapping book, and am asking myself what this brings to what I know - not much being 'Systems' aware when it comes to the analysis of Training Needs. For me the real differentiation is when the Training Need needs to have Governance and Assurance (whether H&S, or Business Assurance (ISO 90000X etc). This is not something new, but then ADDIE/SAT is not necessarily the same as ID. It depends on how robust and rigorous you need the training course to be.

Great recap of action mapping! Just a trigger warning for any viewers with eating disorder behaviors as there is a brief weight loss example ;) it is a minor one, folks! But just wanted to let you know it is there.
