Good info. I can see there is much more needed than creating a simple action map, but addressing the subjective, decision-making abilities of the interviewers. I think Devlin referred to this as "fluffy," and they talked about ways to improve knowledge and skills with scenario-based learning. Wow, it can get really complex!

Cathy Moore’s book helps a lot with this! But yes, we’re trying to cut down to the observable actions...when we have those as a blueprint, it makes designing practice activities much easier 😃

I’m appreciating the alien foster example because we have been going through a similar process getting licensed as foster parents. One thought came to mind re: how to break down the “energy vibe” piece and I think it could be addressed by teaching the agents to ask good questions to gather more data to decide about the fit. For example, prior to going through the checklist that explains what’s not allowed as punishment, lead by asking a scenario situation and how they would handle it. Then go over the checklist. Just a thought. Training/practices for asking revealing questions.

This is a question that the cat rescue I volunteer asks too! How would you address it if the cat scratches your couch or has an accident.

I really love her point about not using solution words too early. This was great fun! Talking about clunky software made me thinking about time volunteering as a paralegal for an Immigration Law Clinic that worked with refugees. The work arounds we came up with to use INS Websites and such was...something. I actually did some job aids for them years ago. I'm wondering if I could do some updates now that I have better tools...and action mapping :)

Thank you Devlin! Have been using your content for an upcoming final interview for LXD position through college campus round. I haven't done any specific project in this field but they apparently liked my work, skills and answers in recorded interview. Could you help me a little and tell me how to be prepared for this final round?
