Nissan doesn't have a brake service mode to automatically retract the piston? Every vehicle I've worked on that had electric parking brakes integrated into the rear caliper had a procedure for retracting them.

The cylinder won’t go in own its own , you have to compress it , the only thing your doing is retracting the ebrake piston

The braking is definitely weird. I just got a '24 Platinum 5 days ago. It seems to be a bias issue. Front brakes and rotors are always bigger for a reason. The rear brakes wearing this quick, combined with the unrefined braking, points 100% to a bias issue between the front and back. Hopefully, Nissan can figure this out.

You did something wrong , causing the system to go into fail safe has to be taken to the dealer for reset or repair . Something was probably damaged during the installation

Yes and they advertise cars as the best in the snow yet cars still get stuck and have traction issues , it advertising they have to make it sound and look good , also I never said it wasn’t a off road vehicle , but try putting this car thru a mud pit or cross a river like most actual off road cars do let me know how that goes , can it go into gravel and some yes and again that is “OFF THE ROAD “

All you have to do is take out two Allen screws, separate from housing. Take a T45 torque fitting or anything else you may have that fits in the hole and insert and turn while putting the c clamp or brake piston tool and turn accordingly....

Great video! However the red stuff (if its the anti-squeak stuff i am thinking of) turns into an anti-slip rubber, DO NOT put on pins/slides or the ears of the caliper slides! Only on the back of pads if they do not have shims (Says on instructions)., use a silicone grease for the PINS and if you clean slides like you did, you do not need really anything on there.
