Watching your video there was no indication of your wheel being dismantled, I'm sure your friend had lots of batteries for all those other people at the event as well. Be interesting to see if your friend has any more batteries when I fly to Portugal that he could lend me. Only joking. So the ban is still in place I was hoping you were going to say blah blah air lines have a policy blah blah electric PEVs can travel so long as you pack it in a suitcase, not that the suitcase would do anything except add kindle. Well there's a business for anyone who is in the know, special transport cases that are fire proof and airline acceptable. Great video by the way.

Hey Kuji, could you do a video breakdown (or a text reply) on exactly what you did to get your wheel on a plane? I see you did a lot of disassembly, but I'm wondering about batteries, checked luggage vs. carry-on, the airline you chose, etc. I've talked with a dozen airline reps in the US so far and all of them have very specifically said they don't allow "self-balancing vehicles" in carry-on or checked (even if TSA guidelines around batteries are followed). I think air travel is a big piece of the puzzle to grow this community and do more events like the France games, so this info would be really appreciated.

Dude sick video! I got so hype watching this, I'll definitely be there next year. I've been experimenting with the idea of air-180's and I saw a guy throw one in this video for the first time ever... Do you know any more about how feasible this is? I broke my old ass Airwheel x8 trying to do this and have been too afraid to try it on my MCM5, my understanding has been that the motor would tweak out because of the change in direction while being air borne. It appears however that it's doable! Thoughts?
@KujiRolls5 жыл бұрын
I wouldnt do it on your Airwheel x8 because its not very torquey. When you land, you could easily over power it. As for the wheel tweaking out because its in the air... youre not going to be in the air long enough for that to matter.

Great video. Thanks for not editing out the crashes. How far did you have to dissemble your wheel to get it past security? I hear security will often reject the wheel even with batteries removed. I'm trying to figure out my travel between Iceland the US (I live in both countries) and it's near impossible to get my 18XL shipped even with the batteries out. Looking for suggestions other than having 2 wheels or 2 sets of batteries.
@KujiRolls5 жыл бұрын
Well, i think its gonna be hard without at least two sets of batteries. From my experience and others, if you disassemble it so that the motor and frame are separated, its fine. Its just engineering samples at that point.

@@KujiRolls good to know. I've preordered the 16X and so curious how it'll ride. Chose this over the MSX since I'll be off-road and steep hills a lot. Your early testing video helped me decide.
@KujiRolls5 жыл бұрын
@@rayraytub1000 Nice. Depending on the type of off-roading you do will depend which ones better. If youre slamming into bumps at 50kph, the MSX might be better, but if youre maneuvering through big rocks or off-roading with hills, the 16X might be better.
