Wow to the point, clear concise text on the screen (Helpful!) and not a lot of blabbing before inbetween where if you have to go back it's hard to repeat a certain part. I'm trying to get my S650 scooter back up and running. Charges then soon goes to yellow then red light. Brand new 12v batteries (2). A couple of places I googled mentioned that a fuse might still be causing a problem if it hasn't blown so since it is somewhat working I can't figure out how where the fuse is and how to check it. I have a controller. And on the controller is a jst-sm 4 pin connector for both the brakes and the throttle together. 2 are for the brakes and that leaves 2 more pins which are of course for the throttle. But, the throttle has 3 pins. Could it hurt my bike if I switch the pins around until I find which pin goes where ?
@anio68652 жыл бұрын
I ordered a throttle and a controller match. But they dont sell the extension cable from the throttle to the controller. The connector on the controller is a shared housing the throttle and brakes. The throttle came with a Julet 3pin. And on the controller is a 4pin jst-sm connector. And 2 of the 4 wires are for the brakes. I need to test which is negative, 5v and the signal. How do I do that ? I need to check the controller signals.

3.8v seems ok. Starting 2.8v is too much for this type. Not sure, might be few things. Maybe worn or dirty inside, or too much DC input power...

@@r4v5t … Found the required info on the Hall Effect transistor (# A3144) used on these e-bikes, last night, and wires can be blue , green and white, while the other two remain as red (+), and Black (-). The third color is the signal wire. Thank for your help. Wish the companies that make the bikes give a schematic diagram of all the wiring at time of sale (Maybe a diagram sheet glued on the bike's under seat, so it remains with the bike at all times, even if it is resold later down the road). Info should not have to be supplied by people that are also having trouble fixing their bikes on You Tube, but thank God for them, for those wanting to fix their bikes, wouldn't be able to get the required, proper info to fix them, which is very costly if it's done by a repair shop. The sensor transistor is not marked on my bike with a replacement number, where the connection/replacement hookup can be looked up. Once I had the transistor replacement number (A3144), I was able to look up the transistor in my transistor replacement service manual listings. That book tells me everything about that transistor needed by a repairman. Again Thanks for the help. I'm okay now, and can make the repair.

My throttle signal is not varying the output signal. How much current does it need? Do I need to amplify the signal?

I don't have any spare one for exact test of current right now. It's probably not much, AA batteries provides enough current.

Hi,I have a throotle like the one on the excellent video, that was working fine untill I decided to add a switch to kill the signal ( as an extra safety ) after that, as soon as switch On , it starts at once without thumb action. Then decided to kill the power wire instead of signal, with same result . What may be the cause ? Thanks in advance

@@r4v5t Hi again, just tested with another brand new throotle ( without any modification) same readings !!! Can it be the esc parameters ? Thanks for your precious info ( and patience):)
@r4v5t6 жыл бұрын
Sure it can. Make sure the ESC, motor and battery voltage are matching. Also you can try with lowering the voltage of a battery as long as you stay in ESC's minimal voltage. Sometimes motor wires interacts with each other and causes the issue. Then it helps to twist them or mount differently. @@ahlidap1961

Hi, so does this assume the throttle is bad? It only went up to 3.8 volts.
@r4v5t7 жыл бұрын
It's ok because it's in the gap of 0.8 to 4.3 of output voltage from the throttle (like I wrote in 2:30). The input voltage is a different thing (only batteries).
@Mrcodewarrior770067 жыл бұрын
I read a couple of posts indicating it should read 4.3v if you put 5v into it. I used a variable voltage power supply and dialed in 5v and got 4.3v out of mine. Which is kind of disappointing because I'm trying to figure out why the acceleration on mine is somewhat sluggish.
@r4v5t7 жыл бұрын
Some sources says 4.3v (only at full twist) is still ok. So it may be something else (ESC?). First of all I would probably try decreasing voltage to the throttle a bit. Testing with a different thrott would throw some light. However might be just ESC. I had some issue with mine bc it was cutting off or work to abruptly. Than I changed few minor things like twisting some wires, placement, etc. And it's working lot better now.
@Mrcodewarrior770067 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the input. I was going in that direction next with the wiring and connectors. Our 'frankenbike' is driven by a generic 48v 1000w controller to a brushless front wheel hub. Problem is the bike has been dropped a few times so finding the issue may be difficult. My next step might be to take apart the hub since it's got a weird squeaky rattle inside of it.

I've been experiencing extremely dangerous episodes of the motor not stopping as soon as I turn the throttle , related to high humidity conditions ! I think it's because the humidity increases conductivity of the hall sensors in the throttle . can you recommend a good throttle ? I think the manufacturers are going to have to make them water proof. I experienced the same issue with a different throttle , battery and controller. just using the bike after a rain storm is enough to cause the issue. We must have a throttle will a switch to cut power ! ☠️ Also stop using hot glue on the Hall sensors ! It melts were I live ! And make the throttle not Fall apart so easy , and they need to be made with softer grips or made to accept normal grip's.☠️
