Upgrading the track to both high speed and electric is something you should consider doing as quickly as possible, (budget permitting), as changing all the track can take quite a bit of time to do. Certainly, with the high speed upgrade. The electric, not so much, with usually the freight being more important during the middle part of the game as they need more, 'umph', to carry the heavier goods back and forth, than do the passenger lines. Coal and iron ore in particular need something beefy to shift their loads, as do iron and timber. Finished goods, no so much. The longer the trains are, the better with raw materials, which means making your platforms a bit longer to accommodate, too. The only issue there is those pesky shared freight/passenger stations. Something you'll need to sort out if you want to be able to offload to the nearby processing plants/factories.

The thing is: the steam loco "Big Boy" is a verry beefy loco, build for high speed heavy fraight duties, so thats also an option without the need to upgrade to electric or high speed lines (its around the same speed/speedlimit i think)

Not trying to be mean about this. But you really need to keep passenger trains and cargo trains separate especially by mines. You really don't want a cargo train being loaded up as a passenger train flying by which isn't really safe. Especially with coal mines and ore mines. They might have some places that are like that. They would have them away from the loading platforms from the main line for safety.

day 2 click on a vehichle, when the menu for the vehicle comes up hover over the picture of the vehichle in the top left corner you will see a camera icon click it and find out what it does...

Did u kno that if you destroy either residential or commercial in a town it will never grow back... it'll just b one or the other...so you can make a city just for residents...or just for shopping...nd either way it should grow bc there should b no negative effects like noise pollution nd such

When will you do a live stream for Cities Skylines again? Just a thought: how about live streaming multiple episodes with you, relative flat lands and disasters turn on.
