You should have consulted with the radio restorers of your fans who are knob specialists. Go look at the knob directly opposite the arrow on the tuning switch. There is a tightening screw to loosen the knob. The mount for the switch is a large thin hex nut which unscrews and allows the switch to slip out. 😀

On the light dimming switch, try a spray of TV tuner cleaner or similar. There was a tsb couple years ago dirt/dust accumulation. Just a thought

Coloured lamps ... use blue nail polish. Works every time. Oh, by the way. the knob is held on with a grub screw, centre of yjr knob underside.

That tuning knob may have a set screw in it. You might have been covering it with one of your phalanges. 😁 GM must have had a summer student design that thing. A set of stacked potentiometers & switches would have been better, but probably $.12 over budget for the vehicle.

Mr Ray, Diesel Dudes for your tuner and shift by fly switch. The shift by fly wheel is held in place by a small set screw or you can remove by loosening the nut behind it.

Circuit boards will all fail due to the amount of copper. The purer copper will create small fingers to short out. Olms law positive always go to negative. So the makers of boards add alloys to the copper to slow down the copper fingers. Basically all boards will fail, just copper purity will increase time of failure. Repairing atms for 40 years, I replaced thousands of boards. Always called it the atm magic. Most banks replace all their atms every five years for this reason and security... nor a sermon...thanks Ray for another great video

I had a 97 GMC Yukon with a similar headlight switch...my failure mode was the shaft snapping: A 1/16th inch plastic bit. I got pretty good at swapping switches

My 2005 Silverado gas set that same ECU code...when I had it "tuned". It seems to not like that and wouldn't go away. Could be the same with this one, not sure since it's an 06 to my 05 and a diesel to my gas, but that's what I got. Only other codes I have are O2s and Check Engine since my cats are...shall we say, empty...lol. Cheers.

About the blue light cover. My old Honda Ridgeline was notorious for the small dash backlights burning out. I found that they were all the same bulb and just had little colored rubber covers on them.
