Why we take 2 run of cable for lead burden....Why we neglect the three phase individual cable from field side to mfm and mfm to other equipments cable length.... please explain

Why do you consider only phase say R and return path to calculate Lead burden. What about remaining two phases i. e. Y & B phase
@electricaltechnologyandind53354 жыл бұрын
As there is ammeter selector switch so two line will work

If cross sectional area of cable is not given only the CT ratio,lead length is given.Than how to calculate the Lead resistance????
@electricaltechnologyandind53353 жыл бұрын
Cross sectional area to be identified. When you will lay the cable you must know that. So you have to select and accordingly cable will bw laid
@rjshtk Жыл бұрын
you can find that easily by injecting a reference value of current using a current injection kit and measure the voltage across at the ct secondary and deduce the resistane/impedance..

What is "5P20" CT, which you have mentioned at 6:43. Apologies for being naive at this.
@electricaltechnologyandind53354 жыл бұрын
You need to study the basic of instrument transformer. P stands for protection class ct. The first numeral 5 stands for 5% of composite error i.e. combined error of magnitude and phase angle. And 20 is the accuracy limit factor. That means for 20 times of rated current the ct will give upto 5% error. Please check the ct parameters selection video. I have explained those things

sir, Your all video's are very informatic and practical based and i am watching your each video. I am expecting video on Transformer & HT motor for each protection with CT location so it could help for troubleshooting and it will reduce time as well.

Now days protection cts for distance protection are class PS. numerical relays are connected to protection cts of class PS. what is the burden of class PS.
@jaydhokai83642 жыл бұрын
Nicely Explained, I have One Doubt that By Selecting Higher VA Burden of CT for Protection Class we are getting higher ALf, but what about the Saturation Curve of CT? Another Doubt also if we select higher VA for Measurement CT. then what are Advantages & Its Disadvantages. Thanks.

Nice, simply explained. Thank you sir. And Following doubts :) 1) Metering - the CT common is connected to ASS only. TVM, MFM not require this? And what is ASS & MFM stands for? 2) i think in 4 wire system, we should use multiplier of 1.2, instead of 2 to calculate lead burden. plz Refer section 3.1.1.2. of library.e.abb.com/public/194811e319ce2bb7c2256f9e00324a2f/applicationCT_accuracylimitfactorENa.pdf 3) in case of differential protection/residual earth fault we have CTs in phase and neutral. That case how burden calculate since relay is connected to both phase CT & Neutral CT. do we need to account relay burden to both CTs? 4) Nowadays numerical relays are multi function relays, right? lets say we have OCR, earth fault and differential protection is same relay. that case should we calculate relay burden to all CTs? 5) In case of multi function relays, where relay take inputs from multiple CTs, how do we set relay pickup & TSM. do we have pickup & TSM for each CTS in same relay? Thank you in advance.
@electricaltechnologyandind53354 жыл бұрын
You made a lot of questions Answering a few. 1. Ass stands for ammeter selector switch, mfm stands for multifunction meter. 2. The abb document you referred is correct, but if that is a 4wire system running, but since we are using ammeter selector switch so it will behave like a single phase system so need to be multiplied by two. 3. Multi function relay takes only one ct input(3 basically for three phases). Inside the relay all the necessary analysis is done for different functions say over loaf, short circuit, earth fault etc. You don't need to consider separate ct for that.. however often an altogether separate earth fault relay is used with another CT. That has no relationship with the numerical relay.

@@electricaltechnologyandind5335 Clear, Thank you. Can you plz do a video on multi fuction / single function relays for diff protection systems? so that we get an idea, how many CTs are required.
