Something that do find kind of funny in this film was in the beginning when Tonya was singing a bunch of angry people was throwing tomatoes at her, apparently at the time "somewhere out there" was played all over the place and a lot of people were sick of hearing it and the film throw it in to match the audience reaction to its over exposure. Just imagine if Disney did something similar in Frozens sequel where they mocked "let it go" in the actual movie itself.

Why do I like Fievel Goes West? First of all, the first An American Tale is #2 on my list of my favorite Non-Disney animated movies. Seeing Fievel in another movie reminds me of how much I loved him in that movie. I did not mind if I did not know how his family got this way (even if I did question how the family could still be suffering in America). And, although I am troubled by Tanya being voiced by an adult now, considering Fieval still had his child voice Phillip Glasser, and knowing Catherine Cavadini voices Blossom, a famous cartoon character, that brings me plenty of comfort to know Catherin Cavadini does get to share voice-acting with a child. Still another reason why I like this movie is because I say multiple times that I love Western cowboy movies. As if seeing Fievel back was not great enough, now I get to see him as a child cowboy! That made me ecstatic! I liked every relation this project had with westerns; the train ride, the western-singing, the buildings and the showdown at sunset. And although I know plenty of animated westerns like Spirit, Home on the Range and Rango, this was one western that had a child actor's voice! Brilliant! No matter as a sequel to An American Tale or as an animated Western, I would gladly watch Fievel Goes West over and over again.

I'm aware. Of course it's a guarantee he's going to give Wall-E a Seal of Approval; stupendous film. I was just saddened that Fievel Goes West didn't receive a score as high as I expected it would get, at least an 8/10 as minimum. Really looking forward to Wall-E's review!
@chillplayer12346 жыл бұрын
Camarón con Limón Yeah exactly, I thought he would give film an 8/10 cause he mentioned it a couple times before and it was placed in the backrounds of the very old and dated Top 10 Best Animated Sequels(Granted, I shouldn't take the backrounds seriously cause he put Cars 2 and the Balto sequels in the backrounds too). And I think he mentioned the confusion with the characters of a missing a movie in an old episode of What's In The Box?. Either way, this was like the 4th movie of Classic Reviews this year where he gave a mixed review. Luckily, Wall-E should be able to break the mixed streak.
@carmenherrera88126 жыл бұрын
+Camaron con Limon The original An American Tail is actually better than An American Tail 2: Fievel Goes West. The original An American Tail has a better story, better characters, better animation, better writing. And not to mention it has an emotional and sad tone which makes the character's situation more real and beautifully execute in the wonderful story. An American Tail 2: Fievel Goes West is a spectacular film as well, but it can't beat the original An American Tail. The original An American Tail is a masterpiece and very wonderful movie.

All though it's disappointing to hear that Fievel Goes West isn't apparently good, at least a 6/10 is better than most Don Bluth sequels that would get a lower score(*cough* Secret Of Nimh 2). I used to enjoy this movie as a kid and almost preferred it more than the original. The Western atmosphere is what actually got me intrigued by it as a kid. The tone between the two American Tails are quite different in hindsight, I'll admit. I could even understand how some may treat this sequel like a bizarre alternate universe rather than a genuine continuity. But it has been a while since I've last seen it.
@nathancook14046 жыл бұрын
At least it wasn't that Bad of a sequel many other movies had their own bad movie sequel because 1. they don't always follow where they left off, 2. Sometimes they make the characters out of character, 3. They keep changing the story way too many times, and last but not least 4. They try way too hard to please the audience. Now don't get me wrong I like Fievel goes West atleast they tried their best without Don Bluth but yeah If I was Steven Spielberg I would ask Don Bluth for some good advice on how to make a good animated movie without his help and without messing it up a bit and not risking a bad review.

I re watched this a few months or ago or so when it was on tv it seems like in the 3rd movie when fievel says he dreamt/dreamed he was in the old west does this mean this movie was all just a dream he had? this has been in my head for months while as a kid I never ever caught that
@timmyreyes19936 жыл бұрын
Not really. He says he became a gunslinger but all he did was save my house from evil cat so he never really did become a gunslinger he just became a western hero for saving the mice from cat r waul.

Now he has reviewed all of Amblimation's films! But yeah, going from the next review.. he's digging back to Pixar with "WALL-E" for Animat's Classic Reviews.

KnuckleDude24 It's about time he's going back to Pixar since it's been 4 years since he reviewed an old Pixar film, but this time he's reviewing a top tier Pixar film. So yay! Also considering he's been doing decent/mixed reviews, this is fitting since he put Wall-E at #2 at the end of Animation Lookback: Pixar when he countedown the Pixar films.

In the comments: "I reappy liked this fiom more than the original becuase it plays it more safe." Than again, its common for the peopole at the comments to like stupid kids flicks like: "angry birds, angry birds 2, trolls, trolls 2, Hotel Transylvinia franchise" and so much more.

I was hoping you would make a comment on how the main villain of this film nearly suffocated between a woman's breasts.

As much as many Don Bluth sequels were poor in quality, I think that Fievel goes west was perhaps the best one of the Don Bluth sequels. As you said it has major flaws in continuity compared to the first film. I loved the story of While Burp. Tiger kissing the Owl in the desert, Miss Kitty is a euphemism for something that only adults would understand. John Clease voicing the villainous Cat R. Wall with a few boobie moments with slapstick humor. I do have to admit, Fievel getting lost again makes the story a repeat from the original and is clearly the biggest weakness.

Now without borgnine and tayback i think it's time that Jim Cummings take over The role as carface carruthers

Fievel Goes West is a really great film, but it is not better than the original. Both the original An American Tail and An American Tail 2: Fievel Goes West are very wonderful movies, but out of the two, the original is clearly the better one. The original An American Tail actually has a more impactful story.

I love both the original An American Tail and An American Tail 2: Fievel Goes West either way. Do you like the original An American Tail?
@CastOfCharacters136 жыл бұрын
Well yeah the An American Tail 1 the original is great but it was kinda dark and depressing !

+Cast Of Characters 13 My guess is that you're probably not a fan of Don Bluth's style of storytelling(An American Tail is made by Don Bluth). In the 80's, Don Bluth is known for making serious, dark, sad, heartwarming, and meaningful stories in his films. His intention for his movies is getting through the dark, to go to the light. Which I love because aspects like these tells an inspiring and impactful stories that anyone can relate and also emotionally invested on the characters on their great journey to accomplish their goals. Secret of Nimh and the Land Before Time also bothers you the same way as An American Tail right? Because Secret of Nimh and Land Before Time are also not light-hearted films like An American Tail as well(Both Land Before Time and Secret of Nimh are also made by Don Bluth).

This was one of my favorite films as a kid. I don't csre for the original, bit I love western themes. Dom Deluise was a great voice actor in tbe Don Blueth films.

GTFO! The original An American Tail is a very wonderful film and a masterpiece. An American Tail is also Don Bluth's best work.
