The only thing that scares me as an investor in tesla is Elon. The dude does not stay in his lane. Also the FSD situation is also scary. I think FSD level 5 will be a dedicated vehical, if that happens tesla will get a big lawsuit from customers who payed for fsd with the promise it will one day drive fully without driver input.

erm....Tesla never promised Any Such Thing. FSD is a Driver Assist: its clearly stated it must always remain under human control. Tesla have NEVER claimed it was Total Autonomy. Version 13 I think, just might be the solution. So, no, there will be no law suits from disgruntled owners. The Only downside I see for Robotaxis, especially in the USA...is deliberate, planned sabotage / vandalism and violence by Legacy Auto and Fraudsters. I think such bad faith actors will prevent the USA ever having unmanned robotaxis. Might be OK in Europe although Legacy Auto has already funded terrorist attacks against Tesla in Germany.

Tesla could survive on their commercial battery storage business alone. Their cars are still the most advanced, especially with their software and have the best bang for buck. Musk is a controversial wild card, which is quite normal for such a high achiever. Enron was an energy trader, they produced absolutely nothing, just took advantage of arbitrage to make money. The leaders of Enron invested money in a sports arena, lavish buildings, etc. essentially living beyond their returns. Enron did revolutionize trading and they increased efficiency, but they falsified inventory and they did not recognize expenses by putting them off the balance sheet. This is criminal activity. If Tesla does develop a working self driving vehicle, it will make a lot of money. As for previous sales of self driving vehicles, Tesla could take the older vehicle in on trade and not charge for the self driving on the new vehicle. If you remember, the first automatic transmission had a clutch, and when the newer models shifted without a clutch, the dealerships gave the owners of the older models a special deal on trade-ins.

Elon Musk has accomplished a shed load of great things since he bought up Tesla!! What we all need is for someone like Elon to buy up the electricity companies and to turn our electricity totally green rather than keeping the ancient system of power stations and replace them with wind farms, hydro electricity and solar panels on EVERY home.

LOL. Do you have any understanding of Business at all? Above that of a 15 year old, I mean. Every single point you mentioned has been debunked or at least explained. Taking just one of those: Yes, if you purchased a Model S Plaid (new) at around $140,000 then you will be most upset that new ones these days are around $80-90,000. So of course the depreciated values of a car that is two or three years old would be far lower than a new price. This was all explained in the Tesla Masterplans about passing on lower Costs of Goods to the Customers, after inventing new, cheaper, manufacturing techniques. ie Having price cuts for new cars. Obviously that would never happen with ICE Companies whose cars just keep getting more expensive (basic inflation). So, technically, you are correct on that point. Tesla is sooo evil for making their new cars effectively cheaper than what they were 3 or 4 years ago. Of course that will be reflected in the depreciated valuations. It also means a bigger market of people who can afford those cars! Wait until their far cheaper Model 2 car comes out. See what effect that will have on valuations/depreciation of ICE cars. It will decimate them. As for the other points... LOL. What a moron.

If the humanoid robot thingamajig is reasonable and the car insurance business is reasonable then profits should increase. If only because government might like to put to use some robots to use if they choose to. However if another robot manufacturer makes better robots then they would be chosen instead. Tesla has seemingly done a good job at remaining competitive with competing companies by reducing the sale price of its vehicles. Most of this is obvious.

I like Elon Musk, but he has made some public declarations that are clearly misleading in relation to Full Self Driving, Robotaxi and the ability of the company to begin or meet production in regards to the Cybertruck. Tesla could be in trouble; They might be turning a profit, but their share price is driven by increasing sales and I don't think that the first quarter of 2024 was that great.
