I really like their channel, straight to point, effective explanation and no hours of videos for small topics…I hate it when other channels spent 30 mins on really simple basic concepts and over explain them.. I wish I had discovered this channel a day before a exam

But sir my question is that ...we can only get metals from earth crust and pure metal by refining it ...then from where we take pure metal wire ... the wire which you said we can take from market .that came from where?
@Aarush1-INDIANEXO-L7 ай бұрын
That metal is produced by much complex and time consuming method ,thus taking a copper which already pure by such method and doing electrolytic refining is easier
@Aarush1-INDIANEXO-L7 ай бұрын
In the complex process , the crude metal is heated and very high temperatures and reduced with the help of reducing agents .
@HalalStudyTracks7 ай бұрын
@@Aarush1-INDIANEXO-LHey,can u solve my doubt? See at anode ,Impure copper loses 2e and these 2e move towards towards cathode where the copper (copper after its gets refined) gets eventually deposited and gets 2e which were released by itself at anode.So how is the reaction correct? Like reactant at anode and product at cathode is just the same.
@Aarush1-INDIANEXO-L7 ай бұрын
@@HalalStudyTracks I did not get your question but here is a simple way to explain electrolytic refining. once electricity is passed in the soln , the electrolyte (soln) breaks down into its constituent elements for eg take cuso4 electrolyte for refining, which then breaks into cu2+ and so4- ions. the cu2+ ions(of the electrolyte) will now move towards cathode (the strip containing pure metal) . Because these ions moved there ,the amount of cu2+ ions in the electrolyte will of course get decresed. and because they got decreased the ions of cu2+ from cathode(impure metal strip) will start coming off the cathode and come into the electrolytic soln to maintain the amount(volume) of the electrolytic soln
@GURUPROMAN5 ай бұрын
@@HalalStudyTracksthat's what we want as we pass electricity they energize and lose 2 elections anode and cu2+ ion is released into soln and the cathode will be more electronegative by having more electrons will attract cu2+ ions. The products are the same but the places are different right i hope u got the answer.

I have a doubt... Is it necessary to use sulphate salt? I mean can i use copper nitrate in this set up?
@status6421 Жыл бұрын
U can use copper nitrate, but sulphate salt is easy to reminder during exam, we just have to use acid of that same element.
