i know that road! and Im very impressed by the bike, but also your great bike handling skills. this machine is definitely a viable vehicle for most every day life ..also to mention I bike commuted from peninsula to saanich [interurban] for years and at one point used a vision r40 as as well as a sun sport cx, so recumbents do work very nicely having an ebike drive train and being faired would have been a huge benefit as some of that was highway work .

People are buying eBikes like crazy. Out-selling regular biles now. Recumbents are left in the lurch. Electric should be a huge win for recumbents, since it should eliminate the long chain. Electrom is a heck of a swing at it.

Add an electric prop and a paraglider wing so you can fly up peaks as a paramotor and regen as a recumbent bike on the downhill :) Fast charging and a canvas enclosure could change the way people travel.

If you're an engineer you'll probably say I have no idea what I'm talking about.... But if you made some type of lightweight, removable , weather enclosure & some storage. This vehicle would be much more appealing to more buyers.

The tail behind his back has huge storage capacity, so you are mistaken that it needs some storage. It has more storage than most motorcycles. An attachable weather enclosure is reasonable. Maybe nylon stretched from the nose to tail? But understand that this would add to production complications and cost.

lol theres a lot of things that keep this from being more appealing to more buyers. The batch of bikes he is selling now are STILL considered prototypes, the throttle means its classified as a Class 2 so its handicapped at 20mph, there are no payment plans available to anyone who don't have $12,000+ to drop on something that is most likely illegal to use in most states, etc. I like what he has going on here, and I would certainly like to own something like it. But where it stands currently, especially in the eyes of the law, I don't see anyone but rich folks who can get away with it buying.

@@Clever_Motel I don't understand why no car or motorcycle company has built something like a Piaggio MP3 but with a removable weather enclosure. Add a rear storage rack with removable side cases....The 2 wheels in front give it more stability than a motorcycle but it can lean & carve corners. It can seat 2 people, is fun to drive, the weather enclosure makes it so you can ride in 3 or 4 season weather. A heater could easily be added AC could be a couple of 12V peltier cooling fans. It's small, narrow for parking,very fuel efficient, can travel at HWY speeds, with decent amount of storage for groceries. one person between rear seat & 3 storage compartments could easily fit 6 or more bags of groceries. It could be used as a sole commuter vehicle, even in some snow with the proper tires.....If the upright scooter/motorcycle seating position makes the weather enclosure bad in high cross winds. Make a similar vehicle but with lower seating position. The VW NILS came close to getting it right, had they made a tandem 2 seater, with removable top & maybe some rear side/saddle bag storage compartments that could quickly be removed when not needed. In the world of personal transport vehicles, it's seem they purposely screw them up. The Renaut Twizzy came close but they made it under powered, ugly, not very weather proof, not light off road capable. It's only made basically for short in-city errands, I could just use a $300 used scooter instead.

@@BrianTRice77 The storage in back is nice & I like the bike but.... from a consumer point of view. If the bike can't keep you out of the rain & cold. Most people will opt for a much cheaper regular bicycle, e-bike or motorized bike kit. I bought a $120....2 stroke kit & added $80 in part upgrades. For $300 total ($100 for the 29in Mongoose on sale) I now have a reliable 29in motorized bicycle that can do 40 mph top speed & gets around 80-90 mpgs. I can buy repair parts for super cheap like a complete top end rebuild kit- (new cyl piston rings,etc...) for $35 or whole new engine for $120. I like e-bikes but #1 are too expensive #2 too expensive to fix if it breaks. Yeah I know.... noise & exhaust, Reeee reeee Reeee !!! (not very loud at all with a silencer) I think your waterproof tent like enclosure is a good idea,(you can easily fully water proof tent fabric with a diy silicone/orderless paint thinner mix) if he made some changes to the body (attachment/mounting areas & higher front windscreen) so the fabric doesn't flap in the wind like crazy. Maybe use some snaps & velcro to attach in place, similar to truck bed covers & you could roll it up & store in the rear compartment VS lightweight removable fiberglass sections, you'd have to leave at home. Unless....you made something like some side door pieces that the removable top could attach to. Also if the enclosure was lightweight & made right, it'd be more aerodynamic. Similar to the 2 wheel velomobile that went 89 mph on human pedal power alone. Sorry but I'm not paying thousands of dollar$ unless it can keep me warm & dry. I'm willing to bet you that millions of other consumers feel the same way.

Uhhm, why? if you are asking if the Electrom is manageable with one hand, it is. Actually, it can be ridden with no hands like most bikes.
