1) Is the acceleration/speed controlled by the pedaling cadence/torque? Or do we need to use the throttle for the entire ride? 2) Can you use the pedals to charge the bike without switching ON the system with the key? 3) Can the user remove the batteries for external charging? 4) Is the output of the pedal generator DC or AC?

Q2 Unfortunately you cannot pedal while stopped. The cranks are connected to both the generator and the back wheel via chain It is possible to put the bike up on a stand to lift the rear wheel and use it as an exercise bike. We also do this to allow people to test out the GCD without actually taking it for a ride (riding a two-wheel recumbent position takes some practice).

I love this machine but I can't help but wonder if it would get more attention if it more closely resembled Kenada's recumbent electric motorcycle from the Akira movie.

Hah, yes, we get that a lot. Unfortunately, people who have built replicas of Kenada's bike have found them very difficult to ride. The geometry is flawed in many ways. However, we do agree that we have some styling work to do on the Electrom. Stay tuned for updates.

@@electrom_LEV I very much look forward to an even more stylish Electrom! I love the recumbant form and function and as someone who currently rides an electric bicycle as a communte I really like your GCD solution. I like that the rider can always be contributing even when the bike is going faster than I can pedal or even when decellerating. Love it.
