Who also agrees that this exceptional gentleman deserves a Nobel price for his incredible, selfless service to humanity all over the world?
@grimmy75494 жыл бұрын
he's amazing yes, but not selfless. he makes a profit from this and likely a very solid CPM due to the fact that his content is by no means controversial

Professor Organic Chemistry Tutor, thank you for an exceptional Introduction into Electron Affinity Trend in AP/General Chemistry. Electron Affinity Trends has a solid impact on Endothermic and Exothermic processes in Modern Chemistry. Endothermic and Exothermic processes are very important in Thermodynamics.This is an error free video/lecture on KZbin TV with the Organic Chemistry Tutor.

@aliaxx2 ай бұрын
electron affinity increases also the higher you get in terms of groups so for example, Na and K are in the same group/ column but since Na is higher than K, Na is the answer

Why energy is released when electrons are added?
@anemugo75354 жыл бұрын
When electrons are added to an atom, the increased negative charge puts stress on the electrons already there, causing energy to be released. When electrons are removed from an atom, that process requires energy to pull the electron away from the nucleus. Addition of an electron releases energy from the process.

why is nitrogen endothermic but oxygen is not? both are adding electrons to orbitals that already have electrons.
@nospaceforsadness8164 жыл бұрын
I have just the same question :(
@IsaacFrimpong-ui1ey11 ай бұрын
Nitrogen is partially filled,so it's stable
@tonywang60636 жыл бұрын
ok u said eletcron affinity of nitrogen is positive bc there are a pair of electrons in the orbital diagram, but why is it positive bc of that
@wonder0526 жыл бұрын
Because you need to ADD energy to it for it to accept a new electron because, with two electrons in the same cloud, there's gonna be more repulsion between them so it's gonna be harder for the new electron to integrate, which is why you need to invest energy
@user-if1xf7hr1g4 жыл бұрын
Is noble gases's electron affinity zero??
@nospaceforsadness8164 жыл бұрын
It is possitive the electon affinity of noble gases . That means they require energy (endothermic reaction occurs) in order to add to them another electron
@yogadevij Жыл бұрын
Noble gases attain their octet rule that is of 8 valence electron which makes them highly stable. Since they are highly stable they don't indulge in any chemical bonding or lose or gain or share electrons
@yogadevij Жыл бұрын
So their electron affinity is zero
@alexfontaine6233 Жыл бұрын
I thought energy is released when you lose an electron? so energy is released when you lose an electron and gain an electron too?
