Yea absolutely nothing, Peaks, shitloads of innovative modular gear, elektron stuff, a bunch of new plug ins, huge advancements in computing. Yea no developments in the last decade except for vintage gear, lmao.
@busywl69
@busywl69 3 жыл бұрын
@@martti7363 Same sound though. The modular stuff looks impressive, but close your eyes and listen to what coming out of them. Plus you can count on one hand the people who are truly taking that type of sound as far as it can go and further. Its vintage sounds, Cheaper prices. Well especially in the case of behringer, which I feel is great for young musicians who can actually afford hardware now. But true innovations in the sounds synths and next level effects can make. I'd give the edge to some of the radical softsynths and softFX out there. But its more about the controllers today, those have actually come a long way. SOme interesting things happening with controllers and MIDI2.

Or he started to talk about mics and the mics part of the video was edited out. Am I missing something in the regard of preamps use? Looking forward for your reply. Thanks in advance!

Any preamp recommendations then? I run my hardware through an analogue Soundcraft desk then into Ableton via Apogee Element 88. I thought it sounded ok, but would be interested in hearing the difference with the introduction of a valve preamp. Not sure that would work with Elektron's Rytym mkll running straight into Ableton via Overbridge though.

i wish there was a way to use synths as effects like Halion, Falcon, Omnisphere for their filters. But lucky you can record and import into the synths. But you can with the real moog right? Can you use a moog as an effect? record your synths and import them into the synths vst i mentioned because of their filters.

I took some time to figure it out, coz i am in the middleground right now. It seems that phisical gear/analog stuff adds harmonics of different type that are many times not in the range of hearing but in a range where our body can percieve it and our body likes those vibrations... also, bulbs/transformer/tubes are basically converting the signal adding the golden ratio "allignment" on spectral plane of the sound, if can you imagine pineapple geometry translated into the sound. Guys who invented those things were in Teslas IQ range/wisdom..

Is it easier to bounce everything to another daw, instead of doing it in ableton?
@arnar_gretars
@arnar_gretars 4 жыл бұрын
DAUBSKI not easier, its just a different approach. You can do everything related to mixing/mastering in Ableton, its just that some producers like to move to different DAW for the mixing stage for a different perspective and/or more convenient enviorment for mixing and routing. Ableton works a little different then DAWs like ProTools or Logic when it comes to routing signals, sidechaining and grouping things

anyone can advice what is the difference between mic pre amp and pre amp?
@alchmymusic5259
@alchmymusic5259 6 жыл бұрын
A pre amp is used to amplify the sound. Whether coming from a microphone or other source. In the case of the synthesizer, in addition and perhaps even more important is the coloration that it gives to the sound. In this case, each specific preamp has its own characteristic. Like a Neve preamp or a API preamp/
@novakattila
@novakattila 6 жыл бұрын
A preamp TECHNICALLY is to reach line level from mic level. Usually what you have from lowest volume to highest: mic - instrument - line - speaker levels. Now if we're talking about synths you don't really need a preamp, because its usually already at line level. You can just record it directly with an interface with a line in (so most interfaces). But quality preamps add a tone to the sound which might be pleasing.

Preamps in interfaces don't sound like shit. They don't sound like anything. That's the point. You shouldn't rely on preamps to make your tone and music interesting. They add some color, but they don't have as big of an effect as stuff like using an analog console (or channel strip plugin), using analog compressors, analog eq's (especially), using tape machines etc. A preamp on synths is really a double edges sword, because what you do is basically add noise AND some tone/saturation. As the line output of most synths is already high enough for recording, you need to turn it down first, meaning you raise the noise floor too. Sure you can talk about "quality preamps" like everything else is shit, but a "quality preamp" starts at $1000, not something many people can afford for just simply adding some tone which you can do later in various ways. Spend your money on a quality interface first, THEN get some good plugins. Forget Waves or Slate, get Acustica or UAD.

@@fantasyproduct1042 11 months late in replying. First point the 909 statement is completely subjective, personally I think it sounds great raw and unprocessed. Secondly production is the icing on the cake. Composition is key. you can apply all the pre amps and expensive outboard in the world to track and still end up with an over produced polished turd. Some uncharitable souls may suggest that Mr Fitgeralds track playing in the background (with its pedestrian rhythm and uninteresting lines) fits that mould
